I would hear arguments against this being quintessentially "Romita," though it doesn't scream "Ditko" in the reverse direction, either. Quote
buttheadsmate Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 I agree . The closest I've come to Peter Parker perfection is the TRU Wave2 Spider-Man sans slip-over , Parker looks like the Parker I first 'knew' . Whilst looking at that TRU set (2009!) Spider-Man & Green Goblin, I am inclined to say that is one of the best Minimate sets ever. It only fails to be perfect (for me) because I never took to slip-overs , they make the 'mate look top-heavy. Quote
DSTZach Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 (edited) I know this Ditko one is old: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/img/fig/fig0095flg.jpg But this one is pretty great, albeit a bit gussied-up. http://www.minimatedatabase.com/img/fig/fig3040f3lg.jpg There's got to be a QC that that head can go on. Trekker 42 Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Yeah but not in the 90s. They’re probably remaking this. Quote

I suggested a McFarlane-themed Spidey set, but I think we ended up not doing that one. You'll see another Spidey set with some cool unmade characters in another few waves (89? 90?). We're working a few waves out at this point. Thank God. I have numerous Peter Parker Spidey Minimates (Wave 24 Spidey, Armory Spidey, etc.), and just pre-ordered the Spider-Verse box set off Luke's after hemming and hawing on it for months. I can cool the jets with Pete for a minute. XD Despite that, I appreciate you advocating on behalf of a new McFarlane Spidey. That genuinely means much to me. If not that, then I would KILL for a John Romita, Jr. Spider-Man. I LOVE that man's rendition of the character. Quote

Holy shit, if you're right, I might actually cry tears of joy. Literally would be a Yellow Daredevil situation. Nearly 20 years after the original are we FINALLY getting an update. If they make it look consistent with Sonic Attack Spider-Man, that'd make it even better, IMO. Quote
WookieFodder Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 Peter B. Parker with baby holder. also X-Men 97 that older Jubilee would be awesome along with other characters that have never been produced. Quote

For X-Men 97 I’d love to start with a Boxset of Jean, Cyclops, Magneto, Juggernaut, Wolverine. Then a fast follow of box 2: Storm, Bishop, Cool Dad Magneto, Morph (both heads), Shaw. Box 3: Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Sinister, and Sabertooth. Quote

Especially, the ones here then. Great art should move you and this certainly did. I saw Lenore and was just in awe of how great the show has been. Hope we get mates from it. Quote
Nessex Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 Masterful work. Beau's comments on the Pulse nightclub shooting, and the violation of safe spaces for minority communities felt especially poignant, and that translated seamlessly into the episode. Quote
thereasonsy Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 This week was also stellar. I hope we hear of merch for our community sooner rather than later. Quote

The next few sets are decidedly nostalgic, and the X-Men set we have planned is very 1980s. BUT it does have an obscure X-Villain in it! Bastion? 🤔 really hoping we get him at some point. lol I missed out on when @luke314pi auctioned off the custom ones he made. Quote

Even funnier that it was originally my first set of Minimates I ever got WAY back in 2009. XD Quote
Padrino Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 any word on when these will be advertised? I'm trying to look back but I didnt see a time frame. Really eager to see and order these! Quote
DSTZach Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Series 87 (80s X-Men) won't be offered for a few months, but I would like to show them at SDCC, because 85 will be out by then. The 90s X-Men do not have a pre-order date yet. I keep asking. Quote
MJtheJuiceman26 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Thanks @DSTZach! Is the 90's X-Men the box set that has Juggernaut? Quote
