boyd
Can't say I'm surprised to see the new Spider-Man get a Minimate so quickly. There's a post on Marvel.com that gives a little more information: Miles will join the Marvel Minimates toy line next summer, as a 2-inch tall Minimate that showcases the new Ultimate Spider-Man costume. The figure will have 14 points of articulation, a webline accessory and a remov able mask that reveals Miles' face underneath. Look for him in an exclusive two-pack at Toys "R" Us, alongside a classic Spider-Man villain to be revealed later! karamazov80
Least surprising Minimate announcement. . .ever.
youbastards
Yeah, and since he doesn't come out until next summer, he will get released just in time for Peter Parker to return to the Ultimate universe...
Mattallica
the costumes not bad except for the crazy red fingers(doesnt look as bad on the mate as the actual comic art) but overall a big YAWN! karamazov80
A yawn of excitement?
The Geohound
Can't say I'm super excited for this one, because hey, who needs more Spider-Men (I just did a count and I have 18, so I think maybe that's enough) but what does excite me here is it gives way to the possibilty of more Ultimate Mates, and that does make me happy. So we'll see where we go from here.
Mirymate
Wasn't there a rejected Spider-Man costume from the first movie designed by Alex Ross that was very similar to this one? No real surprise here, knew it was coming soon. More interested to hear who he's going to packed with. And I don't think this will be reversed too quickly. Quesada has wanted a major Marvel character to have a black alter-ego since he first came onboard. (apparently no one told him about the year and a half Rhodey spent as Iron Man) Joe lobbied hard for Ultimate Cap to be black. And he was one of the loudest critics when Sony said that the kid from community was in-elligible to audition four SM4 because he was black. (Then you shouldn't have signed all your rights away should you have Marvel?) I think they are sticking to their guns on this one, right or wrong. Lobsterman
DST, can you guys make up your mind on the slip-on mask thing? I have a lineup of Spideys with different-sized heads, and it's really messing with my display zen. Maybe just do a second head for him? storm 1:08
DST, can you guys make up your mind on the slip-on mask thing? I have a lineup of Spideys with different-sized heads, and it's really messing with my display zen. Maybe just do a second head for him? I don't want slip ons for Spidey. Period. And redo Iron Spidey without slip on, please. Weird timing on this announcement as will any casual buyer remember to buy it ~9 months from now? But it is to catch the Ultimate Spider-Man hype, I guess. So TRU exclusive meaning short pack? Or TRU exclusive non-short pack like Wolverine/Omega Red? Probably latter, though they weren't ever really called an exclusive, right? Classic Spidey Villain? Ultimate Green Goblin. Now with pants! winkerbean
I fear we're going to get spider-man minimates rammed down or necks next year & that we'll only get a couple of new/unique figures that we don't already have, add to that the avengers wave/waves of movie figures =
battlecat
who needs more Spider-Men Me! And, uh, Chuck! That's at least two! Happy to get this character, the first issue was great, but I'm with Storm, slip-on Spider-masks just look wrong. Wish they'd make it an extra head block instead. Turtle
1996. I don't have a problem with Spidey variants. I have a problem with lame Spidey variants. This is a pretty cool costume.

MiniFiend UK
I was going to post the other day after seeing the new Spidey issue that DSTChuck will have no need for Viagra cause there is a new Spidey to make. Like the rest of you not surprised that they are so quick on the ball with this figure. Let them have their Spideygasm and maybe we will get a figure that we have been wanting for awhile. battlecat
More recently, Spider-Girl had that kind of "v" on black costume. And BuckyCap, thinking of it. You can see Pichelli's various designs here, I think they chose the best one. Edited September 16, 2011 by battlecat
elhonez
@ buttheadsmate: I laughed. The unsurprising yet encouraging implication here is that TRU waves with exclusives will continue in 2012. Awesome. More chances to get cool weird mates like Lockjaw and Warlock. Warlockjaw.
