Ultron is in the works? Does this mean we're getting some sort of wave based around the first storyline of Bendis' relaunched Avengers? The goofy "Time War" story? Kang shows up in that story - can I hope we get him as well as another Ultron (and Spider-Man, and Wolverine, and Iron Man ...)

I'm guessing the retailer that hit financial troubles is Borders, that is where Hogun & Fandrall were going... :(

You'd think they would have made an ideal SDCC exclusive. I would have bought multiples.

I refuse to believe that Hogun & Fandrall will never be released. We may have to wait until Thor 2 to see them, though...

And was Chuck hinting that a Future Foundation box set is in the works, or is it just me?

Interesting answer to the question about comic-based waves. It sounds like they may be focusing more of their attention on Marvel movie licenses in the coming years rather than the comic properties. I guess that's the way to keep casual interest going, but I hope the comic stuff doesn't taper off altogether...

Of course they're gonna be released! They're in the box set with Mk2 Whiplash and (whoever they didn't make from Captain America but people want a minimate of) yep,

also, I'm going to jump straight to the next step of the grief: ANGER

We might not be getting two characters with fun designs but at least they found the space for A F**KING IRON MAN CHARACTER. Yeah, he's in Thor, blah blah blah blah, but he's also been in TWO Iron Man movies making him an Iron Man character much like Howard Stark is an Iron Man character too despite being in Captain America since he's Iron Man's father, maybe if Iron Man characters can get slipped into other movies' waves Fandrall and Hogun can be slipped into the Spider-man reboot wave! (of course I'm joking, we need those spaces for "Spider-man wearing slacks" from that scene were Spider-man had slacks on and "Peter Parker, but with a different shirt this time")

Next step of grief: Bargaining!

So if Boarders dropped them late enough a new retailer couldn't be found (and late enough they could replace the worthless civilian Thor TRU pack which was sold on-line as "Don Blake and Heimdall" for the longest time so it's not like they would have noticed if they got something else instead) couldn't they be slipped into the "Best of..." Marvel Movies wave? or into a future TRU regular Marvel line like how we got an Iron Man 1, Punisher, and Hulk packs in the early waves? they must be far enough along for it to be wasteful not to release them...

ah, let's just skip to Acceptance:

the Best of wave is going to be "Cap/Red Skull", "Jacket Cap/Bucky", "Thor/Destroyer", and "Odin/Loki" since those would have been the reissues if we got a Wave 2 of either line. (more likely it's going to be "Iron man mk4/Cap", "Iron man mk 5/Thor", "Iron Man mk 6/Red Skull", and "Iron Man mk2/War Machine") and there's probably a rule the comic waves have to be comic only now, oh well...

I'm surprised they're not doing Exiles, as Spider-Man 2099 was on that team for a while; he'd be a perfect excuse to do the box set - fans of 2099 like myself get a MUCH needed update and Exile fans get some more guys to go with Sabertooth, Blink and Morph.

And real shame about Hogun and Fandrall. While I guess it kinda makes sense they have a slight issue finding somewhere else to sell them, I'm surprised they can't give them to TRU or something similar.

Some thoughts:

1. Nice try, Nessex. At least you got those names in Chuck's head.

2. Why do people insist that there's this huge interest in Firefly? It was a fine show and all, but it didn't last a year, the movie wasn't a hit, and it's not even current. Hopefully, Chuck's made it clear that Firefly's never happening, so we can start badgering him for things that matter, like Mystery Science Theater 3000.

3. Curt Rapada's (I assume a poster here) plan for the Exiles was well thought out. Thus, it'll never happen.

4. Ugh, Top Cow... well, I guess they're classier then Taboo. :yucky:

5. Not Minimates, but I'm really looking forward to Hawkeye.

*Sigh*

I tried . . . sometimes i wonder if the answers are active denile or if Chuck really has no idea what we are talking about?

In any case, More villains have been asked for and the request was addressed.

Well, I've definitely seen him reading the board now and then, so he keeps up with us. And, you know, this is THE ONLY Minimate community (save for the few 'mate fans that post on AFI and Fwoosh and not here), so it's not like he has a lot of boards of which to keep track. I don't know if he thinks only a small percentage of the fanbase wants Kang or the Wrecking Crew or Alpha Flight or whatever, but since Minimates have a small fanbase overall, our voice would seem to me to be pretty loud.

I certainly think there's enough interest for DST to start an official Minimates fan club, like the GI Joe collector's club, which would offer exclusives to dues-paying members. I'd join. For Kang.

I also wonder if we in the MMMV community were able to pool our resources if we could get an MMMV exclusive made. If it would cost, say, $40 for a Wrecking Crew boxset, would you pony up? Or if it was hosted through Luke's store, but on the condition that he received enough pre-orders upfront. I know Luke looked into an exclusive before; maybe there's a way we could help make it more cost effective. You know, teamwork! :highfive2:

I imagine you'd have to get together a few thousand dollars to cover all your production costs and there is likely a minimum run you'd have to make, meaning you can't just make 50 sets for the 50 people who chipped in.

On top of that, there's likely some restrictions on what you can and cannot choose as far as an exclusive goes, what with future line plans to consider and the possibility that Marvel may have put certain stipulations regarding certain characters and universes.

I agree, but Chuck has stated that they don't have the manpower to do one of these.

As to MMMV getting an exclusive, I don't foresee that ever being a possibility for lots of reasons.

We actually had the funding to do a full blown minimate exclusive, but still got rejected from Diamond, because our average monthly orders from Previews were not high enough. They look at everything you order (comics, graphic novels, statues, other action figures) and not just minimates. Simply having the money isn't good enough. :(

Indeed. I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but as far as online specialty retailers go, we are now in the top 5 Minimate sellers on the planet, and we can't even get an exclusive set made. I try not to let it bother me, but it can be very disheartening.
