Ivan Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) I thought I had a self-aggrandizing thread for promoting my works in here but couldn't seem to find it with the search. Maybe it's about time I started one. I'd like some feedback on my Minimate related creations and I'm too lazy to add and maintain a commenting system at Minimate Labs. (Actually I'm afraid of little Bobby Tables and the wrath he could inflict.) So I put it to you folks of the 'verse. Would you be so kind? Minimate Labs In my latest post I've been developing my skills with Blender and created a '90s Cyclops' Minimate that I can pose and animate. Here are a couple of the renders. There's also a short animation, but I can't seem to embed that here. You'll have to go to the post. There are also full desktop sized versions there as well. I feel so dirty. Nessex Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) Ivan! That looks AWESOME! Really sharp! And so accurate. I'm really impressed man. I don't have the bandwidth at the moment to view your animation - but i'll check it out as soon as i do. In the meantime - these are becoming my new wallpaper A+ work man! Do you take requests? I'd love to see some 'unreleased' minimates given the Blender EDIT: Ok - the animation was short enough for me to load up - Very slick buddy! Edited October 13, 2010 by Nessex Quote
buttheadsmate Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Amazing as always My skills with a blender are also legendary. Quote
MINI_MYTE Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) Very awesome Ivan. Will we eventually see a longer animation of Cyclops? Edited October 13, 2010 by MINI_MYTE Quote
luke314pi Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 He looks amazing, especially in the animation! Quote

Bob Harris Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) First thing I thought was,<irony> 'wow'</irony>, Ivan created a red optic blast and added it to the photo he took of a Cyclops mate. <irony>'How incredible'. That's so worth posting!</irony> Then I realized two things. First: That's not a photo. Second: I am unworthy. Edited October 13, 2010 by Bob Harris Quote
boyd Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Very, very nice. Just ridiculosly nice. So very nice. Did I mention your work is nice? Quote
Lurch77 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Awesome work as always Ivan! Not to mention the previous post on the lab, YOU GOT A FRIGGIN METAL MINIMATE!! HOLY CRAP! btw, here's your self-aggrandizing threads for promoting your works *My "Pantone" Minimate Project *Another Minimate Wallpaper You also got some stuff here too. Quote
Ivan Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 Thanks everyone. I'm going to try and keep all my self promotion in this thread from here on out. ...well, in my signature too. ...and my avatar. ...maybe Twitter too. ...perhaps a DeviantArt page as well? I doubt I'll make a longer Cyclops animation in the near future. But on long enough timelines all probabilities converge to 1.0. Right now I'm going to focus on building up a character library. Maybe I'll try to reproduce the Marvel poster that's being included in the latest packs. Every time I finish a new figure, I'll generate a few renders for the site and link them here. Thanks for the positive feedback too. It's good to know I'm on the right track with these. Now I just have to figure out how to add more hours to the day. Quote
Ivan Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Updated the site with some new renderings based on that Tron Spider-Man variant covers that MiniFiend UK posted about. More images and a background in the link if you're interested. Quote
MiniFiend UK Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Those Spidey-Trons look great! I especially like the back picture nice work on the spider. Quote
boyd Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Really liking the new Spidey-Tron. It reinforces my belief that a Marvel Heroes / Tron set would be pretty cool. Quote
Chazwinski Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Finally, a Spider-man minimate that I would happily get (but it would have to glow like that ) Quote
Ivan Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 Another Minimate animated short. Well, it has a Minimate in it, but it doesn't do much. Quote
Ivan Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 I'm starting a series of Minimate renderings on Minimate Labs. It's called Site 23-Baker. The first one, titled 'Survey', is up on the site now. This one is pretty simple, but they'll get more complex as time wears on. I'm going to try and post two a week, Sundays and Wednesdays. Quote
Ivan Posted May 11, 2011 Author Posted May 11, 2011 Surprisingly, I've actually been able to keep the two-a-week schedule. The latest render (#6) was posted today. I realize it's hard to follow the series chronologically if you're jumping in late. The site isn't built for that (yet). Here are all the Site 23-Baker posts so far. (Larger images in the links.) #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 Quote
undeadpool Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) wowza!! very cool, cant wait to see more Edited May 11, 2011 by undeadpool Quote
Bob Harris Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I just read it wasn't intended but Planet of the Apes WAS the first thing that came to midn when I looked at #3. Anyway, it looks brilliant and I'll continue "reading". Quote
Ivan Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 I just finished a new animation that I'm particularly proud of. It came out great and was a lot of fun to put together. Behold, KITT! There are several more still renders and the full animation at the permalink. Or just the . Quote
Bob Harris Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Amazing. And cheesy. Well done. And I really like your logo variation at the end of that video. Quote
Fujis Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Love the *Not a flying toy* disclaimer! Agreed! Amazing work Ivan! Quote
