I've got a question for you fans of Alternators & the movie toys. What one movie version of Optimus Prime would you recommend to complement the Alternators line? I'd like to get one that closely matches the 1:24 scale in vehicle mode. Thanks!

Leader would be the only thing that comes close. He's probably more around 1:32 scale though, I would guess. Or at least between 1:32 and 1:24.

RoboVision/Voyager Prime is just WAY too small to go with Alternators.

Thanks for the tip, NightViper. I may go with a Leader Class Prime (especially if they go on clearance later this summer), or I may pick up a 20th Anniversary Prime. I've already got the Alternators Prime (Dodge pickup), which is a good toy, but just doesn't FEEL like Prime, you know?

Scale-wise, those two are really close, and both are a bit small for Alternators. Close enough for most people though.

But that does mean that Movie Leader Prime can "tow" MP-04's trailer. It looks pretty good, almost makes me wish I had an extra $200 to spend. http://seibertron.com/toys/fullsize.php?id...=1â„‘=85

Alright, it's settled. I'm getting a 20th Anniversary Prime (or Takara version or whatever). These two pics made up my mind:

MP Prime is an Alternator. And G1-faithful. There is no TF that is any better than MP Prime. It's just my opinion, but the figure is too d*mn perfect in terms of source faithfulness, articulation, transformation and size. I don't think it will ever get better than Masterpiece/20th Anniv. Optimus Prime.

Hey, could anyone take a couple good pictures with mimimates driving alternators? Thanks!

I have some somewhere on my PC from an abandoned Spy photo-comic I was going to do. Let me check on that...

Just saw the movie and imho "best movie ever!" (done in simpsons' comic book guy voice) All joking aside it is a seriously awesome movie. There were certain parts that were questionable but as a whole it worked also how frickin cool is to see live action transformers.

On another note Hotstufflouie you say you need reissue soundwave I have you still need pm me with possible/interesting trade offers.

Oh yeah again the movie was phenomenal

Just a warning I had bad experinences with the dvd version the leg would not lock extended he would fall over when I tried to stand him up I returned him and the one I got in exchange did the same thing. It imo would be wise to try and find a Takara version.

Have Voyager Class Megatron and Prime been released in the U.S.? If not, does anyone know when and if they'll be avaliable?

Thanks,

Trekker

I believe that there have been a couple of sightings of them. I know that the Transformers Club Store was selling them at BotCon a couple weeks ago (and the local comic shop in that area had the Megatron).

There is a quasi-street date this Saturday for additional figures. Wave 3 (and possibly 4) for most size classes should be out then.

Why does Hasbro put us brits through all this torture! The only movie figures I have seen are the previews, legends, V.C. helmet, F.A.B.s, a couple of real gears, and ratchet + blackout. In stores like forbidden planet they have a wider range but are selling tem for £2.99 over the RRP and I'm a cheapskate. Plus they should have been out over a month ago. Plus plus given the current exchange rate us brits should only be paying five quid for a deluxe and a tenner for the voyagers.

That's my rant over and done with, people.

From what I've heard, Hasbro UK has never done Transformers right. There has always been availability and pricing issues. I would have thought that the movie would help fix things, but I guess I put too much faith in them :P

Does anyone know what the retail price was for these? 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime Die Cast w/o DVD?
