TENIME_art
I am very much against Socialism, but the "One Percent" (or whatever that stupid movement coined) in this country abuses the ever-living sh** out of Capitalism (not to mention taxes: someone sitting in a conference room, making decisions for everyone else that not everyone else agrees with does not deserve a $600k salary that the aforementioned everyone else has to pay for). If you earn it, you totally should be able to keep it, and not have to give it away to those who did nothing for it, but these @$$holes aren't earning it. They're cheating & thieving & swindling, and the rest of us are the ones who get f***ed over to their benefit. IL can't pay out lottery winnings because it doesn't have the money? I thought the money that went into the lottery paid out the prizes. That's typically how a "lottery" works. "Crook County" indeed. I don't preach Socialism. It doesn't work. But our current system is corrupt and doesn't work either. The problem with most of society, is they only ever see two options to every problem. One extreme or the other. Black or white. Except life isn't just black & white. It has more shades of grey than those smutty poorly-written books.
Mnemosis
In case of Toys R Us, not keeping competitive was the result of decisions made by the proletariat. A large stake of Toys R Us is owned by Bain Capital. You know, Mitt Romney Bain Capital. Toys R Us CEO Dave Brandon is, at the very least, a multi-millionaire. So these are the people making the decisions for the company. When the decision is made to not invest more money and resources in to online, who is backing that choice? Who is benefiting from it? It's not working class Joe's, it's those at the top of the food chain cutting corners to maximize their gains. Best case scenario, they were too inept to know how to compete in the current market. Worst-case, they intentionally ran the business into the ground for their own short-term gains.

spidermatt
Has there been any word on when this series might be coming out?
Mysterious Stranger
Depends on how far along in production it was. The Infinity War TRU sets were offered to specialty shops because they were already made, packaged and in the warehouse. I would imagine the same could be done with this series if it is in production. If the factory hasn't started work on them then it might be a while until DST finds a place for this series to be released.
youbastards
Zach had production samples at Toyfair, they are most likely on a boat or in a warehouse, hopefully DST's, not TRU's.
Gillbob316
Regardless of how far along they are, I really hope these find a home, and don't go the way of the Ghostrider movie. Even if the sets get re-assigned to a future specialty wave and we have to wait an extra year for them, it would be a shame to tease us with them, and then never see them released. MisterMiracle
What if...Walgreens started getting the stuff originally meant to be TRU exclusives? I would be very ok with that.

elhonez
That is good news, right? I would love to get my hands on that Spot figure. Madame Masque too.
hellpop
I would think it means DST has them, and they can either solicit them through Diamond or look for another seller. I also wouldn't be surprised if DST uses these as an SDCC exclusive this year. Either way, if they've been produced, DST will find a way to get them out. MisterPL
DST needs a return on their investment. We've always been lead to believe that TRU ordered in much greater quantities than specialty. An assortment like this may end up getting split.

I believe they are being shopped to major retail chains, but they MAY end up going to specialty. I do not know how many of these were made compared to a specialty assortment. Not every TRU MM assortment is ordered in the same quantity, and I believe orders got smaller towards the end. montrossx
Zach - How far along was TRU 27, and any future waves past that?
Onyx_6
Pretty sure Chuck said that they plan a whole year ahead for TRU and Walgreens. Likely that means they had at least line-ups for 27 and 28, possibly even 29. 27 and 28 should have even had protos, before the announcement of TRU closing came. DSTZach
The lineups for 27 and 28 were pretty cool, IIRC. I don't believe any were prototyped, though. Maybe.

elhonez
Seconded. Both to "I actually don't want to know what those line-ups are (were)", and to "Thank you Zach." It would only torture me to know that there were 'mates out there that I wanted, but that didn't have a home yet. So for now let's pretend they were just Team America MiniMates with a Marauder BAF:
Freaqualizer
Or we could pretend it was a New Warriors/90s wave, with Darkhawk, Speedball, Night Thrasher, Namorita, updated Firestar, Sleepwalker and Deathlok. ....why did I do that to myself?
