Mystery Man
That War Machine torso cutting makes me want to do that to my movie Iron Man. If only my hands were that steady. And I bet you could sell those translucent Iron Men figures if you went into blackmarket production. I'd buy one for sure. TBT!
Wow can you guys say necro! This is really more of a story about a project than a full custom but decided not to make a new thread as the MODS are getting tired of people making new threads for everything! So here is a story of my AIM guy... The sad fact is I only got wave 25 in full this week and was bummed when I realised the one that came with the variant didn't have his behive... Of course I didn't want to leave the lil guy bald so gave him hair! But ultimately that still left me as pretty bummed that the guy didn't have a helmet... So I improvised! OK so that amused me a lot... probably more than it should have, but I think he'd get into trouble for non standard uniform so... So I used the one from the other set to make a mold... And painted it... And made a few just in case! ( one of left is DST's original) So there it is, a simple story of a Henchmen who really just wanted to fit in! T. Shamrock
Really, your variant set didn't come with one? Weird. Great work, even though you should have had to!
Nessex
But ultimately that still left me as pretty bummed that the guy didn't have a helmet... So I improvised! I think this from an issue 'What If?', right? The AIM vs Devo issue?
jcastick
Great looking stuff TBT! Curious as to what process you used for the mold? I've wanted to do this for quite some time now, but can't recall for the life of me the materials that were being used at my art school.....THAT was good stuff. drgnrbrn316
I wouldn't mind knowing about your mold making technique as well. You did good work there.
Punisher
I've been wanting to cast quite a few parts for a while now, but don't have the money or patience too right now. Someday..... Great work!
TBT!
Wow it's dusty in here! Ok so I made a quick custom for the amalgam contest and could only enter one figure... I actually went a bit further and made a whole crew and some bad guys for him, so here's the rest. Everyone sort of has a equal in both Trek and Marvel universes. Cpt Kirk's Crew. Uhura/Orroro Collosus/Scotty (Who better to be an engineer than some one made of metal) and Bones/Beast ( hehe McCoy/McCoy geddit!) Lets ignore old baldie as he is a cheap picard/prox x mix The uniforms are a little more out there than the Kirkverine because I wanted him to be very obvious what he is (Also the yellow of kirks uniform makes a really nice blend for wolverines costume.) What good is a crew without aliens to harass? I actually madeup some wierd backstory about the Skrull/klingon guy and how they were at war then decided to make peace and crossbreed due to dwindling numbers. Hulk/Gorn just made sense to me and well Polaris as a slave girl seemed to fit! Oh and finally... you have to have a red shirt guy right? It's ok he'll grow it back... I think.... T. pawcanada
Nice concept and mixture of characters. I have to admit, I'm surprised you didn't do Kirk/Cyclops, but if anything it's more unqiue for having him ross with Wolverine. I also find it a little funny, as comic reviewer Linkara recently reviewed the "Star Trek/X-Men" crossover comic a few weeks ago (he specialises in ripping apart bad comics). I may have missed the thread about it, but where's the amalgam contest being held? I might have to check it out [edit] Never mind. Found it. TBT!
Wow 5 year aniversary Necro! - For want of a better spot to put these I thought here was as good a place as any. After playing with the build a figure booth at C2E2, I kind of got the QC bug again and now have a slew of new 'These exist because they amused me' QC's Most are silly and will end up back in the parts bin at some point but I really like a couple of them, so thought I'd share. Group shot of the minimates currently living on my desk. "Space Bear", Robot Mob Boss, Modified Build a mate, Snake Guy. Medusa with snake tail, Alt Lara Croft, Alt Nina Myers, Red, Scavenger Jackal. Z.Punisher, Z. Logan, Z M.Murdoch, Z. T.Stark. Lurking in the background is Negan. As always, comments, questions and general abuse is welcome! T. karamazov80
Good stuff there. I had completely forgotten about that Nina Myers Minimate your custom is based on, but it was one of the first 2-packs I ever got.
