Just read the books! Stop waiting! read them online or just buy them!!! It's unfair for us that have caught up all the way to wait for you! I want to talk about Jesus and how bad I want a Jesus minimate!!!

Which will come in wave 6...

Calm down dude. It's not too much to ask to wait until a TPB comes out. So just put your balls on ice for now, kapish?

I actually wait for the big omnibus editions, the 4th is due any day now. That's just how I prefer to read my comics. I like reading them all in one go, rather than having to wait month to month.

I don't expect to avoid spoilers, but there are people that would prefer to read trades regardless of expense, and I can understand why they would want to avoid having the story ruined for them.

I think it's the same argument as people that prefer to wait for box sets of TV shows. Some watch them weekly, others will wait and blow through the box set in a weekend.

I understand some people may prefer to wait it out, but the quickest collections (trade paperbacks) still take around six months to be released. I don't post spoilers, but I'm not going to expect other people not to either. After just six months, most people probably assume enough time has passed to talk about what happened six issues ago... that goes double for the hardcover collections that take a year to be released. Omnibuses and the compendiums take even longer.

What I'm getting at is, there just isn't really a time that is acceptable for anyone to talk about anything with any comic that is current... heck, the same could be said for other titles that are over with, and long ended because someone could pick them up ten years after they've ended. The only way both sides could be happy (at least on a forum), is that two separate threads are created and are labeled as "Spoiler Free" or "Spoilers".

If someone decides to not stay current with the story, and wait up to half a year, or longer - who really expects people that stay with it to not talk about it at all?

What eventually happens in the Walking Dead comics is pretty much spelled out as & when we get each new Minimate...spelled out on the back of the package & spelled out physically with the characteristics of the Minimate . I watch the TV show & I'm told it is loosely based on the comics so I'm again not going to be too surprised when something I've read on the back of a Rick Grimes/Vacation zombie minimate pack eventually happens in the show . I buy the Minimates so I made my choice about finding stuff out about the Minimate characters before I read the comics or watch the show....I chose & I'd personally like to keep the choosing decision a personal choice ;)

This is however the Walking Dead Minimate thread & I would have thought that it wouldn't take too much effort for lucky up-to-date members to kindly clam up a tad (or just use spoiler tags) whilst we lesser snail-like members come up to speed in due course with either TV show or comic .

No big deal for me but I'd rather Robert Kirkman tell me the story rather than read it on here via double-entendres & hints which would be fine in a specific WD comic/TV show thread . Which is another hint.

Look Matt said what ever about Glenn, I don't want to just come on here and ruin people's reading experience, that sucks! but having said that I want to talk about the future of minimates I'll put SPOILER if I think it will impact the story but I'm not going to not talk about Negen or the Saviors, characters that just came about. Like Adam said, there will always be someone who hasn't read it yet, remember the first set came with Rick with one hand? all I did when I first started reading was wait for it to get cut off. I won't ruin anything for y'all :)

Dino the idea of putting my testies on ice makes me feel really cold brrr

The to spoil or not to spoil is something that we go over regularly, in fact it's been hashed out in this thread alone at least twice.

My views are that if you don't want to see fish don't go to the Aquarium.( One of the reasons I don't go into the IM3 thread) If you are behind more than 3 months then it's up to you to either catch up or avoid/risk spoilers - they are going to happen.

As for levels of spoilers, mentioning someone who has been in the books for 6 months and saying 'I want that character' isn't really a spoiler in my mind, its just a name that will have no context or meaning to those who are not up to date, if they are upset by that then they are being way too sensitive. Saying 'I want a version of a character that is post "specific event"' definitely falls into spoiler territory.

Having said that we know there are folks who are behind that read the thread so we should try to keep major spoilers like big plot moments either off the boards or in spoiler tags.

It's like most things we post on here, before posting think if you'd have be upset having that moment spoilt for you and then post accordingly.

Well, it would appear that my LCS owner (who's been ordering Minimates for me for ten years) has finally succumbed to the temptation of online scalping.

Normally I get a full set for retail. Today he had two 2-packs for me because he found out the Lori and Amy 'mates are going for boku bucks on eBay. I hope the business he's getting by speculating covers the (previously) guaranteed business he's losing by forcing me to look elsewhere. So much for buying locally.

I can't blame him, really, not in this economy. If he can get $30-$40 for these things, good for him. Hopefully it'll just create more demand for everyone later on down the road. And he should be able to move all those extra Michonne and sailor zombies, right?

In the meantime, goodbye LCS. :(

Hello, Luke's Toy Store! :highfive2:

$3 a month is nothing.

Times 6 issues (which is what is collected in the trades) is $18.

Then to buy the trade for about $15.

I don't feel like spending $33 to have the same story twice. Sorry.

Well, to each their own, but it isn't like you're dropping $33 all at once, it's spaced out and affordable. It's three dollars a month, and then $15 later on. That isn't going to break anyone. If you've collected the single issues, I'm not even sure why you'd want the volumes.

Like I said, I personally don't post spoilers - but I also never have to worry about being spoiled since I stay current. The TV show is another beast entirely, and because I don't want to be spoiled with it, I avoid all things reddit, tumblr, and message board related that have to do with the show. I don't go anywhere that has a chance of spoilers... just like I don't swim in the ocean, sharks are abundant.

Spoilers are much more abundant than sharks. You should go in the ocean and body surf, dude. You're missing out.

I live in a desert, lol.

It's still spending more than I have to, and I can't afford to. It doesn't matter how much it's "spread out over".

And I buy trades because I prefer their collected format.

I couldn't imagine being six months behind. :(

I prefer the trades, too. I'd rather read comics an arc at a time rather than once a month. I'm not crazy about the ads, either.

But when it comes to spoilers, as much as I try to avoid them, they're everywhere. I appreciate people being considerate of those who choose to wait for collected volumes but I don't expect anyone to take responsibility for me wandering into a clearly labelled discussion about The Walking Dead and spoiling the revelation at the end of #106 that Rick has been in a coma this whole time and his doctor's name is Merle.

Totally making that shit up. Just sayin'.

That said, we have Spoiler tags for a reason. It does make it pretty annoying to go through a thread reading these things though.

Wave one showed up at my TRU and I snagged it 3 weeks ago. Then on my regular weekly trip a few weeks after that they had Michonne on the peg and nothing else! I fear I have missed Lori and Morgan and will have to find an alternate route to pick them up!

Walking Dead trades are about $8 for Amazon Kindle, if you're into that and have the capability. It doesn't speed things up, but it saves space and money, and I'm a fan of doing both. Takes some adjusting to the format though.

Anyway, I was hugely disappointed to walk into a local TRU and see that the Wave 2 exclusives were already gone. Thankfully it doesn't look like the other TRU in town has gotten them in yet, so I've still got some hope that I will find them. I've got to say, this TRU exclusive situation has gotten really frustrating. The amount of time I'm able to spend hunting for toys has really dwindled over the last few years, and I'm not at my computer as much to catch them when they go up online (which doesn't really matter, I guess, if TRU is sending out the wrong stuff anyway). I am thankful that TRU.com has opened up for international customers. I've been lucky to score most exclusive sets for myself locally but haven't been able to help out some international friends like I used to. I'm glad they at least have a fighting chance now.

I prefer to read stories an arc at a time, but I pick up monthly comics because I don't have the willpower. If the next part of the story is out there, I want to read it! I do find myself rereading a couple of issues back because I forget stuff month to month. I also find that spoilers show up all over the place (seeing upcoming covers could spoil something if you're behind)

like seeing Carl alive with an eyepatch if you had just finished No Way Out

. So while I prefer an arc at a time, fear and obsession keep me reading month to month.

Okay, so here is my TRU TWD series 2 tale.

So, I ordered from TRU.com on Saturday morning, Dec 22 when it was posted these were available. When it was pointed out that Lori and Michonne had their barcodes flipped, I decided to order both and return the real Michonne. I ordered 4 each of Lori and Michonne and 3 of the Morgan sets. I got my order confirmation and my second confirmation, both stating that all items were located in stock, at 10:03am and 11:04am respectively (CST).

Others got shipping notices and cancellations, I got nothing. Christmas (Dec 25) came and went, still my order lingered as "located in stock" for all 11 items. More shipping/cancellation notices on here, nothing for me. I finally got a shipping notice on Thursday this week (Dec 27). According to UPS, my order should finally be here next week Wednesday, Jan 2. I know there were some holidays on there, but 11 days, seriously?

Oh, and the shipping notice was for the 4 "Lori" packs, the 4 "Michonne" packs and only 2 of the 3 Morgan packs. We will see what I get....

So my UPS guy hand delivered my box today. Box was in great shape. Minimates inside look near perfect packaging wise. Plenty of bubble packing inside to prevent jostling.

And low and behold, I got what I ordered! 4 Lori packs. 4 Michonne packs. And not only the 2 Morgans that shipped but also the third I had ordered.

Occasionally TRU.com gets it right-ish. It would have been better if I wouldn't have had to order 4 Michonne packs to be safe, but

Now, if only Luke would ship my custom case.... :D

I appreciate people being considerate of those who choose to wait for collected volumes but I don't expect anyone to take responsibility for me wandering into a clearly labelled discussion about The Walking Dead

I agree - except to your point, the title of this thread is "Walking Dead Minimates". As far as I know, these boards have a section to talk about comics. This is supposed to be the section for talking about toys (and I still loathe that a thread about the comic-style figures is in the "TV, Movie, Video Game" section, when so far, there haven't been any Walking Dead TV or Video Game Minimates even being discussed by DST).

Silly me, I come in here expecting heads up about the next wave being spotted, or see people's pictures of their newest acquisition, or news about the next wave Diamond is revealing.

No one did talk about something that had absolutely jacksh** to do with all of that for 6 whole months, and all of a sudden, everyone can't stop talking about it, literally 8 godd@mned days before the volume that contains that spoiler is released.

I kinda don't f***ing appreciate being told by those people "I asked for it by coming in here." Had I gone into the "Walking Dead Comic Book" thread? ABSOLUTELY. But I didn't. It's the difference between keeping your child away from a pornographic video store and someone running up to him on the street, and shoving their d*** in his face. I stayed away from the porn - but y'all shoved your d***s in my (and others') face (or the whole "don't go to the aquarium if you don't want to see fish". I stayed away from the aquarium, but people were coming up to me, slapping me with fish). And that's "my fault"?

I suppose if I was going through a green light, and one of you ran your red and T-boned me, that'd be my fault, too, right?

Hahahahaha, is it looked down on to watch them for free on YouTube? because if so that's totatally not how I caught up.

Matt, and I'm sorry for throwing you under the bus, said what ever about Negen and Glenn, that pissed me off and was completely unessescary to say. We shouldn't revel the fates of characters or major events that impact them, like what happened to Carl

Like if we ever get a Carl and they want to make a second one, he's going to look like he does now, and that will spoil your reading. Of course that's line 8 so we have a year until then.

Self entitled Rant!

Tenime, Everyone here has been respectful to your concerns and said that they would try to keep this thread moderately spoiler free going forward, your post was totally was off point.

People here are not going to wait 6 months to discuss something because you cannot keep up to date. If there were regular walking dead spoilers posted in the marvel threads or someone was PMing them to you then you would have a right to complain but you cant complain about walking dead spoilers in a walking dead thread.
