karamazov80
Ben Urich There's one figure I would be genuinely surprised to see DST make. Very cool customs. I dig the Blade.

youbastards
Thanks gents! Good eye on the X-Force Wolvie, Sam! I got stuck with quite a few of him when I created my Hydra army, and I thought he would be useless, but I'm finding lots of uses for the various parts on that figure. Civilian Blaze is just Champions Ghost Rider with a new head/hair. Civilian Ketch, I'm just not 100% happy with yet and will probably revise tonight. Modern Ghost Rider is probably my favorite one I've done so far. - Switched out the leather jacket for the 'other' T-800 leather jacket. - Added Chun Li's bracelets on each arm - Used the smaller fireballs from the Champions Ghost Rider. - Switched the flame hair back to the Champions version instead of the Invaders. Classic Fury is really simple: Head - Wave 12 Nick Fury Hair - TRU Stretch Attack Mr. Fantastic Gun - Silenced pistol from 24 Box Set 1 All of the rest - Wave 35 IM 2 Happy Hogan Ben Urich...I cheated... The glasses are from one of the Rocky Adrian hairpieces, I cut them out and glued them to a Jack Bauer face. I think the hair is Wave 24 Peter Parker's hairpiece, but not 100% sure. The rest of the suit are various pieces cobbled together from other 24 characters. 90's Blaze is Head - Wave 24 Shocker Hair - Wave 24 Transformation Venom Jacket/Arms - Wave 31 Multiple Man Chest/Fireball - Champions Ghost Rider Belt/Legs/Shotgun - Series 1 T-800 Combat Armor Blade uses the retail Blade as a base, but I changed these: Jacket - TRU Ex. Wolverine Origins Gambit Gun - TRU Ex. Terminator 2 SWAT Officer Sword - G.I. Joe Movie Snake Eyes, a little out of scale but I like it. Arm cuffs/Leg cuffs/Chest/Feet - Wave 29 X-Force Wolvie Punisher Head/Wrist cuffs/Feet - Wave 29 X-Force Wolvie Hair/Jacket - War Zone Box Set Frank Castle Arms/Hands/Chest/Holster/Knife holder - Wave 9 Assault Punisher Legs/Belt - TRU Ex Terminator 2 SWAT Officer

youbastards
Updated a few of them today, what do you think? Go back to the original versions? Civilian 90's Dan Ketch (v2) Ben Urich (v2) Next up we have the Law offices of Nelson & Murdock! Matt Murdock Foggy Nelson [Not sure why he's so scared, maybe he's about to get kidnapped....again...] Karen Page ...and finally, "Date Night" Jessica Jones & Luke Cage. To find out how the date turned out, read the first page of Alias #1. Jessica Jones, "Alias Investigations" Lucas Cage, Gentleman [Whoops, forgot to add his glasses...fixed.] Edited June 22, 2010 by youbastards
youbastards
Another revision, this time Blade. Used a new chest, attached scabbard to jacket, and gave him a stake! EDIT: I think I like the X-Force Wolvie chest better... What good is a vampire hunter without vampires? 1970's Tomb of Dracula! Just in case the Universal Dracula box set...ahem...disappears from shipping lists. and a modern day version of Dracula, or as my wife said "Cool! An Angel Minimate!" Goober
I love Ben Ulrich. Never would have thought to make him a minimate. I'm also glad that someone's finally done an Angel Minima-*Shot
youbastards
Here are some Iron Fist decals I created. Thanks to Luke for his "blank_chest" decal and Minimate Factory in general. youbastards
As you can probably tell, I started playing with decals for the first time this weekend. It isn't as difficult as I thought it might be, but I have definitely learned that I need a better quality printer. Here are this weekend's customs: New Warriors Nova: New Warriors Namorita: [still need to do some paint touch-up] Spider-Man Movie Norman Osborn, Thanksgiving Dinner variant [My vision of the variant if DST had done a Spider-Man 1 wave] Modern Iron Fist/Danny Rand [Work in progress] Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - Mastermind Date Night, Pete & MJ [i'm not sure who, but I copied the idea of Pete's jacket from another custom I saw] Tombstone Thanks again to Luke and his Factory for the decals he has posted. luke314pi
Nice work! What is the recipe for Mastermind? He is so simple yet so effective!
youbastards
Thanks Luke! I wanted to go with a first appearance Mastermind since you already did the Hellfire Club version. Mastermind uses: Hair: Emo Parker Head:Tony Stark head, not sure which one though. I have some AIM army builders coming to me so I plan to swap the head out with Classic Iron Man: Jacket: Old Man Logan from the THrough the Ages box set Chest/Legs are from 24 characters. I'm not happy with the chest, I might create a decal to give better detail. Gotta love that Emo Parker hair, it can make anyone look like an evil douchebag, even Tony Stark! EDIT: The current head is from Mk 1 War Machine from Wave 23 Edited June 27, 2010 by youbastards
Chazwinski
Lots of great new customs. Nova is great. I probably wouldn't have wanted a New Warriors box set, but after seeing yours, I think I would get one. They look great. Norman Osborn needs a butcher knife through his hand. I love that scene! Mastermind works (good-looking coat)... DST definitely needs to make more X-Villains. Danny looks good, but I see what you're saying about the printer quality. I've been afraid to experiment with decals for the same reason. I know that Luke has suggested a certain brand of decal paper that is very thin at Minimate Factory. Did you use that brand or another kind? What program and printer did you use to make your decals? Considering how small you had to make these, I'd say they still turned out well. youbastards
Thanks! That Nova is the first non-QC I started, so it was nice to finally finish him off! Yeah I got the decal paper from Luke. In person they aren't as glaring as the pix because they don't have bright light shining on them and the camera picks up on every detail. The image program I use is GIMP, and if you've never used it before, it's amazing. Think ALL of the needed Photoshop tools, in a 100% FREE program!!! I think it's mostly my printer. I'm using an HP All-In-One Deskjet, and it's a business model not really designed for this level of detail. I still need to experiment with decals, and figure out the tricks for hiding the edges, etc. I'm not giving up on them yet, I don't have the skill to even attempt something like hand-painting detail at that level. I also need to get a non-gloss acrylic sealer.
pawcanada
Awesome job on the various minimates and the decals. I really like Nova and Iron Fist How easy was it to make the decals? I'm working on a Mon-El custom that may or may not have the blue S-shirt (I liked it but it seems everyone else hated it), but need to look at making a decal. I've not done one before so I'm not sure how best to start.
youbastards
This one? It doesn't take too long to get the basics down if you have a good image editing app. I just took Luke's blank chest decal, filled it in red. Then found a Superman shield online, replaced the red with blue, shrunk it down and added it to the chest decal.
