groundhog7s
Looks like I'm not making the only uni-wheeled robot. Nice stuff from everybody so far. How did you handle the balance issue? Well, there's a reason I haven't posted pics yet. I think I'm going to settle for a kick-stand of sorts. What I've got designed wouldn't look right with something bulky. But, I'm still thinking about it. I've thought about making the wheel stationary and using a small, clear stand on the bottom, but I think that's plan B right now. I like what you've got, but I don't think it'd work on mine. And I have to say that looking through this thread makes me want to make an army of robot customs. Minimate bodies seem made for them. MINI_MYTE
Here is my entry for Charitymates 4. What do you get when you combine alien technology with a graaff generator? S.P.H.E.R.O (Servo. Powered. Hydro. Electrical. Robotic. Orb) Model name, number or acronym: S.H.E.R.O Manufacturing number: ALPHA-001 Height: 8' 8" Weight: 1900lbs Primary function: Sentinel Secondary function: back-up generator Offensive /Defensive capabilities (if applicable): SPHERO can generate and discharge electrical energy. He can emit lightning bolts with a current measuring 300(ka) kiloampere. SPHERO also employs a retractable flail which it can fire with considerable force. In conjuction with it's power generation, SPHERO can incapacitate a target with its flail and then send an electrical current down the length of chain causing more damage to the target. History: To be released on printed data card. Edited April 12, 2010 by MINI_MYTE
Fujis
That's awesome MM! I love the paint job, it makes me think of TRON. And the electricity around the ball and chain looks wicked!
TM2 Dinobot
Very slick. I know what I'm bidding on.
Bob Harris
Damn you Mirymate*! That is an awesome custom! Remeinds me a little bit of MotU's Optikk (Is that his name?) and looking at the ball on the chain, a little bit of Mignola's Kriegaffe. Very well done, as usual. I especially like the paint job. Where do the legs come from?

Where do the legs come from? That's the second time in 24 hours that I've been called Mirymate. My name is MINI-MYTE... MINI-MYTE! Whew! Now that I got that off my chest... The legs are from a Razor Cylon. BTW: It's funny you should mention it, as my original concept robot had a giant eyeball until a buddy of mine referred me to the MOTU Optikk pic and that idea was thrown out the window. I still wanted to use a spherical head but had no idea what to do instead of an eyeball. Then one day driving to work I past the Ottawa Museum of Science & Technology and it hit me... a graaff generator! SPHERO was sketched up within 30 minutes after I got to work and the rest is history. Edited April 12, 2010 by MINI_MYTE

TM2 Dinobot
Okay, my last 2 and the prototype box. Q-T π, the Quality Terrain bot version 3.14. This 4 legged little guy can crawl over anything, with multi-poseable legs, and a omni-directional head, this explorer is made for anything from hills to valleys to swamps. (a little innuendo going on there i think) Hunter/Killer Athea When her father was killed by a rogue roomba vacuum, Athea swore undying hatred on all robots. Equipped with the latest in stealth and tracking equipment, her laser gauntlet makes short work of any robots foolish enough to get in her way. Her claw glove is made from the chassis of her victims. here's the box set.

jcastick
I think I just got lucky with my design, if I hadn't seen the one Mechwarrior Clix figure I had, I'd still be considering what I wanted to make. Just keep thinking man, you'll come up with something great!
Fujis
That's awesome J! Love the paint job. Where are the non-Minimate parts from?
jcastick
Thanks Fujis! The non-mate parts are from a single Mechwarrior Clix game piece I had laying around.

youbastards
Luke, Please add my name to list, I'm going to take a stab at a custom! Thanks! [EDIT: Can anyone recommend a spray paint that gives a good metallic shine? I know there are multiple 'metallics' brands out there, but has anyone used one they particularly like?] Edited April 22, 2010 by youbastards
