Mirymate
Super-adaptoid I would love that Minimate & can't believe nobody's done a custom(hint). Perhaps they have? Think of all the money they'd save... it's all reused parts, green plastic and a little black and white paint. Of course there's been about 7 or 8 different SA configurations so just pick some random Avegners parts molds and the kelly green plastic. bilbofett
How about a SA box set. TRU could do a couple of 2 packs.
Mystery Man
I'd love a Silver Age boxed set AND two packs. And a whole wave or three. Super Adaptoid Kang Titanium Man Vulture It's a win!

MiniFiend UK
I have been thinking Super Adaptiod would be cool for awhile. AA have most of the bits to make the version most ppl know. Cap America tampo, gauntlets, boots. Hawkeye quiver. Ironman shoulder ring. Maybe Wasp wings. Just needs a new mask sculpt and shield design. The Vox
Thanos looks perfect! I love the gloves, the helmet, the costume.. Seeing this mini makes me want to dust off my old Marvel Super Heroes video game and kick Thanos' purple behind! "Spider Sting"... "Maximum Spider".... "Berzerker Claw!".... "Proton Canon!!!" Fun game, great Minis, I need a 2nd job for all this Mini news! Vox Edited June 17, 2009 by The Vox
karamazov80
Quick question--is Super Adaptoid a rip-off of Amazo, or vice versa?
buttheadsmate
I'd never heard of Amazo but as I just discovered you obviously know him from DC, JLA . Brave & Bold #30 ,1960 was his debut which was definitely before S-A,mid 60s. God bless google.
Mystery Man
Amazo came before the Adaptoid (and then Super-Adaptoid). But the only similarity is their ability to mimic others' powers and that they're both robots/AI rather than people. I still like the Super-Adaptoid better. No stripes! I guess you are right--one mimics the JLA's powers, the other mimics the Avengers' powers. Night and day! At least Mimic isn't a robot. Mystery Man
Come to think of it, Mimic would be a pretty neat minimate too!
Scorpion
How did the super adaptiod go from this http://www.kraftywerks.com/jennstoycollect...peradaptoid.jpg to this. http://www.home.earthlink.net/~lsiuwai/ima...na/adaptoid.jpg Edited June 17, 2009 by Scorpion
MiniFiend UK
Going by the excellent write up for the Super-Adaptiod over Marvel.com the silver blank look is how it looks when it is not using any absorbed ability's. http://marvel.com/universe/Super-Adaptoid
Mystery Man
Correct. You guys need to read the issues in Tales of Suspense where it was featured in the Cap stories, then over to the Avengers stories.

While I'm sure Amazo inspired the Adaptoid, it seems like one of the those ideas that's bound to come up when you're dealing with teams like the JLA and Avengers. Or even the Fantastic Four, as the Super Skrull is the same basic concept.
buttheadsmate
OK I'm as guilty as anybody but.....what about the infinity gauntlet set? Can you imagine what it must be like for DST Matt lurking on here to research the reaction to The Infinity Gauntlet Set ,reading the current posts & then wondering "Super-Adaptoid.....WTF?" buttheadsmate
My dream-set changes daily but 'that' is a grail 'n half! Every time I see the names S-A or Mimic I see the respective comic-covers in my mind's eye. Anyway ....what about the infinity gauntlet? Nessex
Well - i don't actually know much about drax, but i will definitely pick this set up. I'm keen for Mephisto & Adam Warlock . . . especially if he comes with his bird-cane! I've stopped buying 'Just the X-Men' and have started buying anything that looks cool. This set looks wicked-cool! Edited June 17, 2009 by Nessex
