I have read P&P before way back when, so it should be an interesting slant on the idea. Reviews tend to be mixed but the jist is not to take it too seriously! T. Same here. I got it as a gift, and will get around to reading it one of these days. I actually read all of Austen's book in an undergraduate literature course. BTW as far as I can tell book club is just an excuse for girls to hang out and drink wine/eat chocloate and gossip! there is very little book discussion involved! T. I work with a bunch of social workers, and am one of very few males on the floor. Not trying to sound sexist, but damn. . .I've never seen the kind of gossip and "nosiness" that I see there. That's next on my list, once I get through the main series. Glad to hear it's good, you can never tell with spin-offs... I loved Lobster Johnsons miniseries. I think I've had more nightmares involving the zombies from that House of the Dead arcade game than from vampires, werewolves, monsters, aliens and robots combined. And I just can't take mummies seriously anymore after watching all those Stephen Sommers films BTW as far as I can tell book club is just an excuse for girls to hang out and drink wine/eat chocloate and gossip! there is very little book discussion involved! While Max is a total douche this book is hilarious. I can not remeber the last time a book made me laugh so hard. You can read some of the stories on his website here. It takes the full original Pride and Prejudice text and adds additional text about the ongoing zombie armageddon going on around the main characters. I am a hopeless romantic, so I already loved the original text. Now it is even better when I get to read about Elizabeth beheading zombies as she runs to Mr. Darcy. It's a new Star Wars novel but it is supposedly going to be horror complete with all out gore & better yet, zombies!!!!! Zombies + Star Wars= Good? It's definitely a bold move. I don't think that there are any know characters in the book. It comes out October 13. I have never read a Star Wars novel but I may give this one a look. The description can be read here. Also recommend reading "Chariots of the Gods", "Alien Contacts and Abductions", and the "Space Cat" series. Oh and who can forget Harold and the Purple Crayon? And as a Guide fan, I can confirm that Colfer got it. His humor is a bit less... cerebral than Adams's, but be that as it may, it's still an amazing book so far. It's part closure, part "We owe this to the fans" and part author having fun. And all good. So far at least. I'll tell you when I finish if I think it was worth it. But hey, it's better than Mostly Harmless. Which isn't saying much as I spent a good part of Mostly Harmless in a state of utter "What the fuck is going on here?!?!?!?!" so I was not the biggest fan of it... Anyway, And Another Thing.
