Ivan
I'm of two minds about this so I thought I'd get some outside opinions. From the neck down, are these two different figures? (Left: MM51, Right: TRU17)(Please ignore the alternate head and helmet on TRU17, it does come with the exact same head and helmet as MM51, I just didn't shoot that photo.)The difference comes down to the different shoulder pieces.Currently I have them as the same entry on the Minimate Database. But that was set up before I had TRU17 in hand. I'm leaning toward separate entries now, but I don't know. Are they different enough?Pedants welcome. Pete
I'm sure some would argue that the shoulder pieces alone would warrent a seperate entry, but that wouldn't be enough for me personally. But because of the alternate pieces, I feel that warrants a seperate entry.
Donny B
As a person who uses the database to spot any potential differences in releases, my vote is to make it a separate entry. Personally, I feel like the different parts (shoulder pads) are enough to offset the seeming redundancy. If the difference was more like the original Street Fighter releases (whos 4 pack figures sported slightly thicker decal lines than their 2 pack counterparts), then I'd say no. But different shoulders and different faces is enough to warrant its own enry, imo
SlushyFrog
Yeah I'd probably go with separate too. I agree about the shoulder pads, though minor, being a big enough of a difference.
buttheadsmate
Different.
youbastards
Yep, my vote is for different entries.
Zexion_Armando
Despite whatever qualms I may have with the mate itself, I'd say its alt look and shoulder pads deserve it. Lol if we can mark a Cyclops as different cause he has an oddly brushed on chest tampo, lol...
hellpop
What, no poll? Yeah, gotta agree with the masses, the extra pieces make it different.
bigvis497
without a doubt different.
MiniFiend UK
Just to be different. I'll go Same! Even though they are different
Lurch77
Yes, I agree ..... there should be a poll.
Lobsterman
Well, in the configuration you have it there, it's an entirely different character.
pk13
I would say that they're different. I bought an extra Nova when I noticed the shoulder pieces. Then again, I recently bought the SF II four packs when I noticed the paint differences between the regular figures. So I'm probably kind of picky about it. MisterPL
As someone who survived the 80s, I have an appreciation for should pads with subtle yet significant differences.
TENIME_art
The different shoulder pads & alternate face say "separate" for me.
TM2 Dinobot
Different face, different helmet color, different shoulders. Different entries.

Turtle
Yeah, different. If the shoulder pads were the same sculpt just different color, I'd be more inclined to say same.
bilbofett
Shoulder pieces aside. The packaging is also different.(the reason I pick up shared mates).
bigvis497
I was kind of surprised that the exact same Sam head abs exact same body tampos were used.
