I guess these past few months I have been on a crazy kick and all I've been wanting to do is track down some rares and talk to people about minimates that don't want to talk about minimates/know what they are..... So, thought I would put this together: Not including MAX statues. What is your favorite single minimate? I've said it before and I'll say it again, Iron Patriot. I'm a HUGE Normie fan boy so that definitely adds to the love of this minimate. However, for some reason this minimate just stands out of the rest, maybe it's because of the color scheme and the fact I'm a huge Cap fan as well. What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? The majority of my more expensive minimates have been aquired through trade or awesome sales here on the boards. I guess I would have to go with the X-Force pack at $30, but honestly, I have mates that are worth a lot more that I spent very little on due to sales and such. What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? The full Champions set, thanks again Jeff! What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? Beta Ray Bill, Fantomex and of course...my god...MODOK... What mate/pack do you hope to see announced for next year? There's something ridiculously awesome about his design, how they pulled it off, and the fact that they actually had the balls to release him that I just can't deny. If the house was burning down, he'd be the one that I'd grab. What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? First Appearance Sabertooth. I don't normally indulge in variants, but this one was just cool enough that I couldn't resist. Plus I really wanted more Skrulls... What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? I have been so lucky with my finds, I'm honestly not really sure. What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? Thunderstrike! What can I saw, the 90s got a hold of me. Oh, and MODOK, of course. What mate/pack do you hope to see announced for next year? Realistically, I'd like to see Deathlok, Songbird, Flash Thompson Venom, Commander Rodgers, or a Young Avengers set. I want to say Deadpool, because of his utter coolness and his accessories, but lately, I find myself playing with my Hulkbuster IM more. Maybe because it's not such a chore standing him up. But really singling out one as my fave? I'll take a pass. What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? For a single minimate, this one (prorated) - Green Lantern and Sinestro But like you I have some more expensive minimates that I was able to acquire for a cheaper price (e.g. Archangel). What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? All mates that I'm having trouble tracking down have yet to become my possessions (e.g. Dr. Strange, Phoenix Rachel Summers, Classic Thor). I had relatively an easy time finding or stumbling upon my rares, save perhaps for Final Battle Deadpool. But still, I got it relatively cheap. What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? Thors, mainly because I don't have any Classic Thors. And of course, the obligatory MODOK. Damn..... i really liked Death/Archangel when he first came out. the simple/classic body with those beautiful wings.... and they added his 'Death Mask'. That figure was pure win. What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? I think i spent about $28 for a Martian Manhunter. And i ended up paying between $40 & $50 for the GSXM box set (it was worth it!) What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? The Stealth IronMan/Ghost Rider variant package was pretty hard to get. I had a hard time finding that for under $50 for a long while. What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? SINISTER!!! Does he count? If not, then i'm actually pretty stoked about the new Heralds set. It is the exact line-up i was hoping we'd see. I think they made the right decisions as far as diversity goes within the box-set itself. And i'm sure we'll see Firelord as a TRU release soon anyway. What I really like about minimates is that there are so many of them so it's hard to say but I guess I'd have to go with any of the Razor Cylons. What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? Manbat from ebay. What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? The ones I now own seemed not too hard to find. Carnage took a bit to get but now I have two. It's the ones I don't own yet that seem hard to find specifically for me TRU BSG Wave 1. What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? meh. Knight Rider I guess. undeadpool Posted July 28, 2011 Share Posted July 28, 2011 What is your favorite single minimate: this is a tough question since i often switch my answer frequently, but one of my all time favorite minimates so far is the TRU wave 6 silver surfer, so simple, yet so splendidly detailed What Minimate/pack did you spend the most money on: honestly ive never really had to spend more money then the usual 6.99-8.99 on a pack and maybe the most ive spend on a loose mate is 4-5 so id have to say.... the C3 batcave since i got it for abour 40 dollars What was the hardest to find mate/pack that you now own: well id have to say Bullseye/moonstone. none of my TRU's had em for months and then i found 2 at a TRU out of town What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates: EVERYTHING!! but to a bit more specific, i guess id have to say the MVC3 stuff and the heralds of galactus boxset, terrax and nova have been big wants for me and even morg looks cool. Right now, I'd say regular Spidey as I just got them from Ady. What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? Probably the Wave 2 Black Spidey pack at it's peak. ~$40, I think. What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? The AFX P2 Ryu/Akuma. I skipped that in hopes it was going to be solicited in Previews but it didn't for a while and sold out on the AFX site. I eventually got it from a fellow member here when I almost lost all hope of getting it to complete my SF collection. What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? Hmmm... Arthur or the Ghostbuster Logo. It's a toss up there too. Edge probably goes to Arthur. What mate/pack do you hope to see announced for next year? Onslaught in Phase 1 Armor/Scuba Spidey (there's got to be at least one panel in a Spidey comic where he wears scuba gear!) 2-pack. I would be okay with finishing my collection with that. I enhanced them with constructs (TRU Jolly Rancher Hulk and Holocaust, respectively) and they are great to have in my pocket for a quick lantern war wherever I go! What minimate/pack did you spend the most money on? The SDCC/NYCC Battle Beasts. Still need the Toy Fair one.... What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? Tracking down wave 2 Black Spidy (still in sealed package). I could not justify paying $50+ dollars for him on eBay. I think I found him eventually for around $25 What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? MvC. MODOK and (since I do not yet have her) White Phoenix. What mate/pack do you hope to see announced for next year? Songbird. Of all the teams that need completing, she would make me happiest. Hmm...the most money? I mean, box sets technically. I don't really like spending too much on two-packs unless it's an aforementioned Jean set. I dunno, I haven't spent more then $10 on a Minimate in a while. What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? Man, I don't really think any were all that hard to find. I've been pretty lucky overall. Oh, I guess it would have to be C3 Martian Manhunter, and I managed to trade for an incomplete one (he was missing his boots, which Bucky was glad to provide! :biggrin: ). What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates? Not a ton of things, really. Beta Ray Bill, Dormamuu, and MODOK, chiefly. Beyond those, I'm mostly just thinking about parts I want for customs (which you can see here! Another cheap plug!). What mate/pack do you hope to see announced for next year? I think, if I was just choosing one thing, it would probably be the Agents of ATLAS. Probably my favorite Marvel book of the last ten years, and several of the characters (notably Gorilla Man and the Uranian) are beyond my customizing skills. Basically, I just want to see DST/AA get back to exploring the breadth of the Marvel Universe again. Look to what Hasbro's doing with the Marvel Universe line for inspiration. Outside Marvel Minimates, I want to see more IndieMates. And from some decent comics for once: Hellboy! Grendel! Nexus! Invincible! Let's go people!!!! I've been lucky a couple extra dollars here and there for a variant but for the most part I've spent retail or sometimes cost. I think I did pay like 11.00 dollars shipped for a 3 inch Mugato after the 2 inch Trek mates came out What was your hardest to find mate/pack that you now own? That frelling Mugato took me a while to track down, probably why I paid so much for it What are you looking forward to most out of the newly announced minimates?
