MsMarvel fan
is there a chance to add to the "best sculpt" category what pieces were sculpted? there are talented customizers out there, and I'm not exactly sure which pieces are sculpted and which are manufactured, so I'm not sure how I want to vote. Nessex
holy moth-eaten shirt! this is going to be possibly the hardest voting i've ever had to do. there's more than 1 mate in every category that i'd vote for. in fact, there's about more like 4 or 5 in every category that i want to vote for. i'm just gob-smacked by the talent on display. MINI_MYTE
Votes sent in. Lots of great entries. Can't wait to see who comes out on top.
hellpop
Why is She-Ra in the Best DC category, and not Best Movie/TV/Ect?
Shamrock
My votes are in! It was really tough to choose. One thing that I think could use clarification: Are the box sets eligible for Custom of the Year? And hellpop: Masters of the Universe comics were produced by DC for quite a while. Maybe that's it? boyd
is there a chance to add to the "best sculpt" category what pieces were sculpted? there are talented customizers out there, and I'm not exactly sure which pieces are sculpted and which are manufactured, so I'm not sure how I want to vote. Sadly, I do not have a list of customized parts for the "Best Sculpt" category. My best advice is to check out the following links to the customs, and read what the customizer has to say about their sculpted pieces: Arkillo Big Daddy Death Dealer Diva Phantom Stranger Q.T. n Sho-Nuff (the Last Dragon) Son of Satan Final Fight Whiplash Why is She-Ra in the Best DC category, and not Best Movie/TV/Ect? TM2 successfully argued to the organizers that "She-Ra" is a DC character, since there is the She-Ra / He-Man crossover and there was at some point a He-Man/Superman crossover. He can be quite persuasive. Edited February 2, 2011 by boyd
Bob Harris
Boyd beat me to it. He* was very convincing and put an 'ergo' at the end of his explanation. Don't mess with a syllogism, my granny always said. ____ Edit: *: 'He', the customizer, not Boyd. Although Boyd can be very convincing, too. By the way: I really like your signature, Boyd! hellpop
Why is She-Ra in the Best DC category, and not Best Movie/TV/Ect? TM2 successfully argued to the organizers that "She-Ra" is a DC character, since there is the She-Ra / He-Man crossover and there was at some point a He-Man/Superman crossover. He can be quite persuasive. I'm sorry, but unless I'm missing something in my comics history... that makes absolutely no sense. DC published one MOTU miniseries in 1982, plus one issue of DC Comics Presents featuring Superman. That's the sum total of DC's MOTU publishing history, and it predates She-Ra by years. Marvel and Image Comics both published more significant runs of MOTU comics. By that logic, my Grendel custom should also be in the DC category because DC published two Batman/Grendel crossovers. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, so I'll shut up about it... if someone can show me a comic book featuring She-Ra with the DC Bullet on the cover. TM2 Dinobot
What's the policy on voting for your own work?
boyd
There's nothing in the rules against it. If you are a customizer, and you have work nominated, then you are free to vote for your own work. Just remember - the point is to vote for the best work in each category. If you can look over the entries and still truly feel yours is the best, then you should vote accordingly.
hellpop
Since this was brought up, I'll say: I voted for my own custom in one category, and seriously considered doing so in another. In the other categories I entered I thought there was at least one custom significantly better then my work ( I hope you all don't agree... ). I think you should basically just look at each group and ask "which of these would I most like to own?" If the answer is the one you made, then you're in luck, because you probably do. boyd
Just wanted to point out to anyone who has yet to vote, you just don't get to vote for the eight listed categories. You also get to vote for the ninth category - CUSTOM OF THE YEAR. From all the nominated customs, you get the choose which one is the best! So vote today. We still have yet to get a vote from anyone who's username begins with C! Edited February 4, 2011 by boyd
