delta chameleon
The bear! C'mon, white repaint...c'mon, white repaint...c'mon, white repaint... I know I'll be doing a white repaint if they don't. With some nice, cold deep Prussian blue armor and subtle steel, silver and grey highlights and ice blue eyes. Not that I have been thinking about it or anything. luckycreature
My friend came through for me, as well as picking up Jay & Silent Bob and the Thundercats set he grabbed me this beauty. Now to watch the mailbox.

Prowlar
Is it too soon to start guessing at the possible TRU wave 2 repaints? My guesses Polar Bear and Snow Leopard Anubis (with more traditional Egyptian armor) and Black Bull (Egyptian god Apis) Hammerhead Shark (light blue or dark gray colors) and Sewer Croc/Alligator (gold lower jaw and new armor) The last pack of course being two as of yet unseen beasts maybe the Giraffe and I'm guessing a Rhino since it would only need a new head and then reusing parts from the Marvel Rhino figure. Surely you, of all people, should know the power of the chocolate chip cookie. So what's the more economical route: buy a case of comic books or buy a cookie and a plane ticket to a US convention? sky_dive
Sadly for anyone who didn't go to SDCC, waiting for their hometown's Con (BCC August 3rd-4th) there aren't many Hot Wing (Orange) Merks on the bay yet.
groundhog7s
I will say that the ones that are on there are going for way less than what I expected. Most have been selling with the purple version also and both can be had for less than $30, sometimes with add-ins.
hellpop
There's one guy selling the set of two that has more then ten available. What, did he send a couple dozen people to that party to pick up HWM? Anyway, I agree it's a pretty good price right now; I bit the bullet and bought the set from one of those sellers. Yes, definitely cheaper then a trip to San Diego.... buttheadsmate
I would confidently say that there are more Minimate promos currently for sale on ebay than at any other time in the last 9 years ...... ................also 'Stealth Vorin's ' rarity status has gone from 'prime lamb' to 'old mutton' overnight. Nessex
Yeah - i bought a Merk 2-pack on eBay and the seller 'threw in' a bonus Stealth Vorin. I feel a bit siller for having paid $30 for him last year now. LOL.
youbastards
RE:Stealth Vorin, I can only guess that the production numbers for the mate were far higher than retailers that ordered enough issues of the comic to get one. DST could have been sitting on a few hundred of these, if not more.
hellpop
Dang. I hope the guy I bought mine from throws in a Stealth Vorin.
youbastards
Battle Beasts Series 2 from SDCC 2013:
DSTZach
No TRU assortment. This assortment will be at specialty. Giraffe would be Series 3.
hellpop
Really? That's a surprise. Series one seemed to do really well at TRU.
youbastards
First Thor 2, now Battle Beasts...is TRU losing faith in the Minimates brand, or is this just them shedding licenses that didn't perform for them? (Calico Jack, M.A.X.)
hellpop
I didn't want to be the one to say it, but I was thinking the same thing, YB.
Shanester
I can see Thor 2 being an underwhelming item at TRU, but Battle beasts is a surprise.
youbastards
If TRU wasn't happy with the sales of Minimates from the first Thor movie or Battle Beasts, then I guess we can forget about seeing a TRU wave for The Amazing Spider-Man 2....all 4 sets from the first movie are still in-stock at TRU.com. hellpop
Yeah, but those are still Spider-Man. They've still got tons of Dark Knight Rises product, but I bet they wouldn't say no to any more Batman stuff.
Lobsterman
I wouldn't say TRU is losing faith, just keeping the lines fresh. Think of how many different lines they've carried (sometimes singlehandedly) over the years: BSG, Ghostbusters, T2, Universal Monsters, Calico Jack, MAX, Knight Rider, SFxT, Munsters, Battle Beasts... aside from Marvel, many of those other lines they've carried have been one-and-done, and have been quickly replaced by another line. I would guess TRU aims to have a constant presence of Marvel on shelves, and at most one or two other licenses. Aliens looks to be the big push for next year, so they might be trimming back on other lines to make sure they don't have a glut. hellpop
That's an optimistic outlook, Lobby. I guess, when it comes to a line like Battle Beasts, I can't see that specialty stores will have enough sales to keep it going more then another wave or two. To me, this was a line tailor made for TRU, and the specialty stuff was just gravy. Hope I'm wrong, of course.
Lobsterman
I know we'd like to think any license could be evergreen based on the longevity of Marvel, but lines lasting past three waves seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
