Captain Paco Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 I had some issues that prevented me from responding. I am glad to finally be back in the world of the living. I would be all up in it if we got more TREK minimates. I would love to have officially made TNG, ENT, VGR, DS9, SNW, DISCO, PICARD, LD, and any other trek series in minimates form Would love to get official uniforms for minimates over the ones I have made myself Would also love to see more Star Trek Aliens in minimates form. thereasonsy Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I have long given up hope this line will return to the greatness it was meant for. Eventually, I’ll learn how to decal well enough to make my own TNG. Quote
Captain Paco Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 I do think that collectors would purchase Star Trek MiniMates in sets from the films. We have Kirk from the Motion Picture and from The Wraith of Khan. And we have Ilia and Khan. So why not make a box set that gives us Movie uniforms for Uhura, Spock, Sulu and McCoy. Then there could be parts to make Chekov (using Sulu's body) and Scotty (using Spock's body) from the Motion Picture and the set could also include parts to me Commander Decker and Ilia in her duty uniform. Then another box set from The Wraith of Khan with Uhura, Sulu, Spock and Captain Terrell which could then include parts to make Saavik from Uhura's body, and Chekov from Terrell's body. A second Wraith of Khan set could include Dr Carol Marcus, Dr. David Marcus, Joachim and another of Khan's followers and maybe Preston (Scotty's nephew who dies as a result of Khan's attack) and a sixth figure or a supply of parts to make other of Khan's followers and the Marcus' in their cave gear. The Search for Spock Set could include Kruge and Maltz (a Klingon officer), Saavik, and Spock (with a assortment of parts to make him seem to age and grow, and Uhura in her skirt uniform. This could be a five figure set as we would get the rest of the crew in civilian attire in the Voyage Home set. A Voyage Home set could include a six figure assortment of Kirk, McCoy, Sulu and Scotty in civilian attire, Dr. Jillian Taylor and Spock in his robes. Maybe also extra parts to make Chekov and Uhura from assorted extra parts a Collector may have already. Then Final Frontier: We could get Sybok, St. John Talbot, Korrd, Vixis, Caithlin Dar, and Captain Klaa. The Enterprise Crew would be able to be in the uniforms from previous sets so only the ambassadors, the Klingons and then Sybok ware needed for this set, but parts to make Uhura when she sings on the dunes would be a nice bonus. The Undiscovered Country: We could get Chancellor Gorkon, Azetbur, General Chang, UFP President, Lt. Valeris, and Admiral Cartwright. Again the Enterprise crew would all appear in the uniforms we already saw in past releases and this would allow characters not made before. I would purchase at least three maybe four of each of these. Then you move to the TNG movies and I am still on board Quote

AugieWargo Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 I'd buy anything Star Trek. Movies? Yep, TV shows? Yep. Just get me a complete Lower Decks set and I am there for all of it. Quote
funkguerilla Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 I'd be in for a Bones through the Ages set of just his civilian getups from all the movies. The man was an impeccable dresser with a flair for amazing jackets. Quote
cylonchaney Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Damn it Jim. I'm a doctor, not a male model. Though I do have great fashion sense. Quote
Lobsterman Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 (edited) There was a profile in the New York times today of a Trek fan with a sizable memorabilia collection who passed away recently, and whose family is now trying to liquidate the collection. I mention it because there was a nice shot of the Minimates line in the article. Kind of funny that Pegasus Six from BSG snuck in there center frame... 😄 I would post a link but NYT is paywalled; here's a screen shot. Edited April 2, 2024 by Lobsterman Quote
NerdyTrev Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Including plenty of customized looks for characters! Well done to that fan. Quote
Liney Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 While I've been stateside for the holidays I've gathered quite a haul of Trek mates to do some quick customs, and maybe a few more involved ones too, so far I found: The original red jumpsuit Khan is the same shade of red as Scotty and Uhura - so with a leg swap from the accompanying dress uniform Kirk, and generic heads/hands you have a good base for some generic red shirts. The leftover kirk has the right colours to be a good start for a Mego style Mugatu I scored 9 movie Kirk and Scotty to make the full older crew - plus maybe Tuvok and Savik, and with a bit of planning a hopefully a vested Scotty from TNG. Need to work out what skirt will fit under the jackets for Uhura. Amassing a small Borg collective - Borg Queen, 5 drones and 2 Hugh which seems to be the limit of part swapping without them being too identical - though they need some new face stickers/decals. With a spare yellow Kirk, Bones, Rand and Scotty/Khan mashup I'd like to make the Trial and Tribbulations Sisko, Bashir, Dax and O'Brien. No idea what do with all the Picard's and Sisko's? - aside from Riker and Worf for a bit, did anyone else on TNG wear red? I didn't get into DS9, so no clue who else wore red there either. Spock's brain is a good start for a Roger Corley from 'what little girls are made of' I'm debating if Spock hairpieces would work for Romulans, as I'd rather not have to track down/cast lots of Sarek ones. An further QC customs suggestions are very welcomed! I've also been eyeing up some 3D printer files for various bridges and set pieces... Quote
cylonchaney Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 (edited) I'm quite interested to see what you do here. I army built Borg, Scotty (for redshirts), and Kor for Klingons. I started on a bunch of bearded faces to make generic Klingons but haven't made them yet. I'm mostly into my 3d printed customs these days. I might steal your Trial and Tribbulations characters idea. I made a Kirk because how can you have the capability to make a Kirk block figure and not do it, but I try not to do already Minimated characters. As for your Picards, you might consider Riker, Ro Laren, Captain Jellico, Worf. Data wore red as Jellico's first officer. Not sure about Sisko bodies, but you could use his head to make Hawk from Spencer for Hire, a badass character. Any tough guy character body esp. in black would do. Very interested to see what you come up with. PS Who would win in a fight, Hawk from Spencer for Hire or Hawk from Buck Rogers? Edited December 30, 2025 by cylonchaney Quote
BuffaloDelorean Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Wesley and Q both wore Picard-type uniforms, and Kira wore the Sisko version for a bit. Quote
cylonchaney Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I believe Geordi also wore red before he became chief engineer. Quote
Liney Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) What are some Trek characters people wish we had got? I've been working through making decals for a bit more variety in uniforms, and now want to make some supporting characters/guest stars. I've currently got: TOS: Charlie X Lt Kyle and Leslie Harry Mudd, and the 3 Mudd's women Salt Vampire Klingon faces Romulans T'Pau T'Pring Cyrano Jones Amanda Grayson Bele and Lokai TNG: main crew Q Guinnan Borg faces DS9: Cardassian faces Voyager: main crew Edited February 13 by Liney Quote
Trekker 42 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I’ll throw in some TOS: Apollo, Edith Keeler, Trelane, the Balance of Terror Romulan. Quote
cylonchaney Posted February 13 Posted February 13 TOS Ruk! Zephram Cochrane Mugatu face Tellarite (have to break the nose rule) Andorian Charles Napier space hippie and maybe his friends Lincoln Col. Green Kahless TNG Pakleds (We need decals to make us go) Klingon armour chest and faces Nausicaans (make a custom Picard with the impaled Bishop chest. The best series! I wonder what Scotty would say if one of his engineers told him they swallowed their com badge. Sigh. (I know they didn't have com badges in Scotty's day.) PS Now having said it, I really want a Charles Napier Minimate. From any property he's been in. I could use the face to make Tucker McElroy to antagonize my Blues Brothers customs. Liney Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) Not wanting to cause too much a Trek frenzy, but I was in my local model shop earlier, and found this: Review: AMT Polar Lights ‘Star Trek’ Galileo Shuttle Model Kit Reveals Its Innermost Self – TrekMovie.com Its 1:32 scale, like the old AMT bridge - so should fit with mates pretty well... at £80 I'm not sure I'm willing to risk it though 😬 Trying to find some good videos on youtube on how accessible the inside is/can be.
