funkguerilla Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=36899 OH SNAP! Looks like those new MAX zombies are going to have something awesome to feast on. Edited February 9, 2012 by funkguerilla Quote
youbastards Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Wow, I wonder what this means for the in-house MAX line? Glad to see these are based off the comic and not the tv show. Funkguerilla, you should change the "?" in the thread title to an "!". Edited February 9, 2012 by youbastards Quote
luke314pi Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Awesome! I love the design of the zombie. This license is a great fit for minimates. Quote
groundhog7s Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Walking Dead + Minimates is as much a perfect pairing as is peanut butter + chocolate. Quote
Bob Harris Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Great news. Walking Dead mates were something I was planning to customize. The first shot of Rick looks great. Quote
funkguerilla Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 Funkguerilla, you should change the "?" in the thread title to an "!". Fixed. Now you look like a crazy person. Imma blame the mispunctuation on my utter shock at the announcement. I'm super stoked for all of these. Can't wait for that Handless Rick Variant! Quote
boyd Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I think Diamond has found their replacement for the Ghostbusters line. And I'm guessing that Max Zombies will now become walkers for Rick to fight. Quote
karamazov80 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Well I'll be. Nice! I just hope they keep this line's civilian:zombie ratio about even. Otherwise, I fear there might be too many civilians hanging out on the pegs out there, looking at us with puppy dog eyes whenever we walk down the aisle. Of course, Rick looks great, but from there you've got old guy, blonde chick, other blonde chick, little kid, other guy, etc. Edited February 9, 2012 by karamazov80 Quote
MINI_MYTE Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 A great surprise for the end of the work day. Bring on the Walking Dead. I wonder if this will affect the release of Maximum Zombies. Zach... care to share an opinion on ther matter? Quote
Punisher Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Aw yeah! Can't wait for Michonne! But I wonder what will happen to Zombies MAX. I wonder if DST is allowed to add their zombies into the mix. It'd be a real shame to never see the Ice Cream Man, Clown, Mail-Man, Bio-Hazard, etc Quote
murderofcrows Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 hope it is survivor -zombie 2 packs. looks great great license. . Quote
Rheul Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I really hope this wont effect the Max line. I really like the tongue-in-cheek design aproach for them. Not that TWD 'Mates wont be cool. I would just rather have fun zombies rather than serious. If I cant have both that is. Quote
WookieFodder Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) looks like RGB Louis Tully became a Zombie. I hope the rest of the guys are safe. edit. Hey DST Zach, did you really have to delete my post?I was just quoting Tom Petty and suggesting people make customs in the meantime. sorry if I offended DST. Edited February 9, 2012 by WookieFodder Quote
DSTZach Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Only one zombie line for now, but we'll see how it goes. Quote
Twisted Two-Face Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Oh my, oh my, oh my!!!!!! Absolutely fantastic, waited for these for a long time. Way to go DST, pretty fantastic acquisition there. Quote
dj87 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 oh tittyf*ck! I assumed this would be another, zomghowgreatwudwalkingdeadminimatesbe thread. Fair play, this is such lovely news. I too was planning on wiping up a Rick to help Chris Redfield, etc. Quote
Turtle Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Hell yeah! These look great, and Rick will be a welcome addition to my law enforcement 'mates. (Aside from the simple fact that Walking Dead is a great license to snag on its own, I can't help but also think of the other possibilities that a successful Kirkman/Image/Skybound + DST team-up may bring... I'm ready for Toy Fair.) Quote
The Geohound Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Honest truth, I'm not the biggest fan of The Walking Dead. I like the comics, am really rather bored by the show, and at this point I'm not all that big on zombies in general. That said, I think these will be great. I honestly hope each wave is half named characters and half faceless husks of doom with loads of extra heads and things to make a monstrous army of the undead. I look forward to seeing what comes from this line. Other thought, now that Kirkman's on board for these mates, get him to let you make Super Dinosaur minimates. He'd do it. I'm not sure how they'd work, but I know I would buy so many of them my wallet would scream in terror. Edited February 9, 2012 by The Geohound Quote
gambitron Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Oh man this is the best minimate announcement in a long while for me! I love this show and will buy up any Walking Dead minimate releases! Can't wait for the show to come back on Sunday. THANK YOU DST! Quote
mrjasontodd Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 hurrraaaayyyyy!!!!! I hope to see some protos at Toy Fair. Quote
buttheadsmate Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Great news ! I can't wait to see these fleshed out. Quote
