A quick question, am I not allowed to be a part of this? Just wondering why my name hasn't been added to either of the lists I've seen.

Sorry Nervous! I just copied the previous list without checking through the thread to see who was in. You're on it now!

Cool, thanks Fujis. I won't have an Anubis. since someone had dibs on it befor I said it, I never finished it. But I may have a St. Nicholas done in time to compliment the krampus, more or less as an accessory, like prince Adam was to orko in the masters line.

Okay, here's my hat in the ring. The Destroyer and Transformer of the Hindu Trinity: Shiva

shiva2.jpg

Shiva is an omniscient yogi, often depicted in meditation, as seen above, or as the cosmic dancer Natarja:

There are a number of historical representations of Shiva based on different sects of Hinduism, and he has a lot of different symbols associated with him. I tried to pack in the major ones common across most of the depictions I could find. His symbols/accouterments include:

  • A trident, or Trishula, an emblem of sovereignty and rulership
  • An hourglass-shaped drum, or Damaru, representing om, the sound from which language was created
  • A serpent garland, symbolizing wisdom and eternity
  • The crescent moon mounted on his brow, representing the cycle of creation
  • The third eye, a gateway to inner consciousness
  • The sacred Ganges river, representing the nectar of immortality, springs from his hair (for some reason)

Hope you enjoyed my little lecture and learned something! :teehee:

Hey Gang, Here is my Charitymates contribution. It is a Krampus, which I can explain tomorrow, but if you'd like, google him...and you'll see why St. Nicholas and a mini minimate is along for the ride!

this was a long process for me, which I will explain in my customs thread which is waaaay overdue for an update. Hope you guys like them. let me know if its too many pictures, I will delete some.
