I have a whole other idea I may be able to sneak in before the deadline. But Quetzalcoatl is near complete, and will be done in time! The Destroyer and Transformer of the Hindu Trinity: Shiva Shiva is an omniscient yogi, often depicted in meditation, as seen above, or as the cosmic dancer Natarja: There are a number of historical representations of Shiva based on different sects of Hinduism, and he has a lot of different symbols associated with him. I tried to pack in the major ones common across most of the depictions I could find. His symbols/accouterments include: A trident, or Trishula, an emblem of sovereignty and rulership An hourglass-shaped drum, or Damaru, representing om, the sound from which language was created A serpent garland, symbolizing wisdom and eternity The crescent moon mounted on his brow, representing the cycle of creation The third eye, a gateway to inner consciousness The sacred Ganges river, representing the nectar of immortality, springs from his hair (for some reason) Hope you enjoyed my little lecture and learned something!
