karamazov80
Seriouslyl? I've got the BD Mark III (well, just sold it, actually), but it is so shiny and neat. The War Machine looks flat and toy-ish in the pics. The pictures and videos I have seen must not be doing it justice. I sold BD Mark III for funds to pay for the Mark IV, and I bet it would look magnificent next to the War Machine. . .but must. . .exercise. . .restraint. . . luke314pi
I think it might have something to do with the proportions and articulation of the figure. The BD Mark III looks way too skinny next to War Machine, as if a man couldn't possibly fit inside of the armor. Also his hip and shoulder joints look much more toy-like than War Machine's. I agree that the Mark IV will most likely look spectacular next to War Machine, and I might have to get him now after seeing how the Mark III doesn't fit in as well as I thought he would. I have a Tony Stark head from the Mech Test version that I might put on the BD Mark III and add some extra battle damage to him, and along with the sideshow exclusive crushed head, I will have a pretty good representation of Stark from the end of the first film. My problem with the battle damage on the Mark III is that the damage on the removable chest didn't match the damage on the rest of the figure, especially after seeing the incredible battle damage on the Mark VI. I hope to fix this. I wasn't happy with the Mech Test figure in person, plus I couldn't fix his broken chest LED, so I kept his head, base, background, and robot, and sold the rest on ebay for a surprisingly good amount. karamazov80
Mark IV looks kind of scrawny too, in relation to War Machine IMO. Maybe even moreso because he doesn't have the bulky shoulders. But maybe Mark IV is not as skinny as the BD Mark III? I haven't seen comparison pics yet. And speaking of battle damage, check out this custom job on the Mark IV: Edited December 2, 2010 by karamazov80
luke314pi
The BD Mark III is definitely thinner all around than the Mark IV. They look great together in that pic, and the BD custom is awesome! That is exactly what I had in mind for adding onto my BD Mark III.
bsrj22
When is the Mark VI supposed to come out? I know most websites have the release as Q1 of 2011, but this is my first Hot Toys figure, so I'm not sure how good they are about timing. luke314pi
It is out in Japan right now, which means it will hit the rest of the world in 3-4 weeks, if this release is anything like the last few have been.
minivenom
My War Machine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but since it requires a signature, I probably won't actually get it until Monday. As excited as I am about War Machine, something else arrived today that completely stole his thunder.

You were the guy who outbid me on that auction a week ago, aren't you
minivenom
Lol. Nope, wasn't me. Even if I wanted a statue, I wouldn't be able to afford one "anytime" soon.
karamazov80
New Hot Toys teaser up:
luke314pi
I can't wait to see the full reveal. Does HT have the licenses for all three Spider-Man films? I thought my plan to only stick with the HT comic book movie figures was going to save me money. Ha!
karamazov80
Seems like a previous announcement was that they had the rights to the "Spiderman Trilogy," but in their last promotional book with forthcoming licenses I think SM 3 was the only one listed. Yeah, buying Hot Toys in any capacity is not a way to reign in your spending IMO. Once you get one, you have to get more.
minivenom
Can't wait to see spidey. I just hope he's not just a pretty statue. It's kind of important for a Spiderman figure to be poseable. Of Course I'll buy it either way. I just don't want another DX Batman.
karamazov80
Well, it appears to be fabric, which is a good sign. I've got the Medicom version, and it's about as poseable as DX Batman. --edit: here's some evidence of the articulation we can expect: Edited December 4, 2010 by karamazov80
minivenom
Don't know where you got those pics, but it looks like it'll be pretty decent. We need the official full reveal. Should be another great Hot Toys offering. Well, it appears to be fabric, which is a good sign. karamazov80
Wookster posted those over at SSF. I think he found them on a blog for one of the guys who works on HT's promotional stuff.
minivenom
Looking good! Don't care about the lack of a Toby Mcguire head. Wouldn't have used it anyway.
karamazov80
I'm not digging it very much due to the garish looking webbing and the plastic boots. But I'll get it. Hopefully HT will refine their process a bit and release an improved Spidey 1 or 2 version down the road.
luke314pi
I am also not digging the boots, but otherwise I love it. This is a figure that I could imagine changing the pose on a daily basis, much like I have been doing with Iron Man. I am guessing they are saving the unmasked head for a BD version then? minimadman
They sure got their use out of the word cobweb in their little announcement.
Shanester
I am not wowed by this figure. I think it looks decent until you get to the boots.
minivenom
I agree that the boots are the weakest part of the figure, but maybe they won't look so plastic when the figure is finally released. I'm excited that the suit doesn't seem to be restricting his movement. A flaw that wrecked the DX Batman.
karamazov80
T-800 released in Asia. Greatest figure ever? Very possibly. Pics taken by OMG on the SSF forum:
minivenom
Not quite. He's behind DX Joker, p1 Predator, and (snicker) T2 Arnie on my list. All jokes aside, he looks amazing and even better than the proto pics. Wow. Edited December 10, 2010 by minivenom
