neolego
Hey guys, I'm looking to buy TPB online and I need to know where you guys recommend. Let me explain, I used to follow 11 monthly books and then I decided that I need to quit....so I did, cold turkey. I haven't purchased a comic book since November of 2005. However, I recently picked up a couple of TPB and got back interested, but I don't want to do the weekly/monthy purchase thing again. I'm just going to start reading my comics like I watch my TV shows. In a collection. What I'm needing is all of the Ultimate Marvel Volumes (Post 2005) and the Civil War and 52 stuff (and anything else you guys might recommend). The only place that I've seen that carries them reguarly is Amazon, but they are not very trustworthy. I'm looking for a place like stuckakid but with TPB instead of Toys. Any help would be great. neo
you_will_forget
Hmm. Book Depository are great in the UK - but they'll be more expensive than you can get them in your country. I've used Mile High Comics a few times - they're better for single issues, but I've picked up plenty of TPBs from them as well. Corner Store Comics or Graham Crackers comics have both been pretty good when I've ordered from them. Alternatively, ebay can be a good cheap place. Find yourself a power seller that specialises in TPBs and you'll probably get a pretty good service. Usual ebay warnings apply though. Hope that helps matey, Jo

luke314pi
That is very tragic news. He was one of my favorite artists. His work on Fantastic Four was amazing.

Any help would be great. neo I know this is responding to a post from a long while ago, but I say look at either: 1) eBay: you can find a lot of less popular, but still good TBPs for under 10 bucks from comic shops selling stuff there, and you can usually save on shipping by ordering multiples; 2) TFAW.com: they sell "dinged" TPBs for around 50% off. A few months ago, I got several hard to find GI Joe TPBs there for around 11 bucks a piece, and the damage was negligible (I mean, who collects TPBs in order to keep them in mint condition, anyway?). Regarding the newer, more popular stuff like 52, I can't help you much (though you could check TFAW). Amazon may be as good as anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It was the "Justice League of America Wedding Special" that had the first part of that arc.

God Magnus
That's a one shot? Yeah, it was basically Green Arrow's bachelor party and Black Canary's bachelorette party and Lex Luthor, Joker, and Cheetah picking the new Injustice League members. vbpanizzi
I have a lot to say so please don't just skip my post because it is long, I swear it will be worth it for you somewhere within. I much like another member of the forum can not believe I have not seen this thread till now. Man am I a slacker. What happened to all the WWH talk even with the spoiler bars I was geeking out. I have been reading all of WWH minus a few tie ins and the frontline cause out side of the speedball becomes penance it was useless in CW. I got the PH Trade I am so glad I got to read that in one night it was amazing I think I would have flipped out waiting between issues. My pull list yes I buy these monthly: Cable and Deadpool ( the name should be flipped for popularities sake) X-men (if you read this and love it read Lucifer) Uncanny x-Men Blue Beetle (screw the old guy he started being written by Giffen (yes i know he wrote the previous guy)) Supergirl Teen Titans (for some reason I love reading teen angst comics) Voodoo Child (again with the Mike Carey) The Programme ( I loves me some commies) Atomika (When it comes out + see above) Red Star (see above) Runaways (Joss) Astonishing X-men (Whedon) Minis I have read lately or am reading: Amory Wars ( written by the lead singer of Coheed and Cambria an amazing band and = story) Marvel Zombies vs Army of Darkness The Sword (The luna brothers tell stories like TV episodes) Girls (naked chicks + Luna Brothers) Terror Inc (Cant stand the writers Independent stuff but love this story) Endangered Species Emporer Vulcan The Umbrella Academy ( only on its second ish and worth me buying 5 just for covers) I know there is more but the amount of wine in my system is causing a breakdown between my memory and the keyboard. If you don't know any of these please ask! Just cause it is fun... IMHO Hulk will not become like Supes(mostly cause he sucks) he will always have a weakness, he is human at the center, and he can't fly. I am loving seeing him romp all over the "Heroes". I am also liking the fact that they are questioning his "heroicness"(is that a word). oh and ... made you look Yes it is cheap but it had to be done. wallbreaker2.0
Sweet thanks Gm I hate missing the beginning of a story. Hopefully I'll be able to find a copy of the Wedding special . Just a side note I think they should always say in the the beginng of a comic if it's continued from a different title.
neolego
Ok, let me say that I've never been a huge DC Comics fan. In fact, the last time I can remember following any DC Comic was "Hush". However, I was browsing online and found this: If you notice....is that "Bat Lantern"???? I know that Sinestro has went all out lately, I can read headlines, but I have no idea what's going on. So, can someone please clue me in as to why my beloved Batman is wearing a Green Lantern suit? (PS. I don't mind spoilers, I will never read these books!) neo
boyd
It's from the current Green Lantern series - issue #9, I think. GL and Batman team up and work out some of their issues, and Green Lantern lets Batman try on the ring. When he puts it on, the ring creates the Bat Lantern costume for him. neolego
Well, then I guess the progression of my question is now, Does Batman Kick Butt as the Emerald Knight?? neo
boyd
Only fashion butt. I think he only wears the ring for a minute before it begins to overwhelm him, then gives it back to GL.
neolego
WHAT !?!?!? The Ring, overwhelm Batman ?!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!! HAHA, now I'm glad I'm not reading that dumb book. I just wish Kyle would come back and Kill Sinestro and Hal Jordan at the same time and then take his rightful place as best, #1 Green Lantern and make the book cool again! neo
omendreamer
Wow, Star Sapphire has apparently become the Emma Frost of DC. Is she using her Purple powers to hold that costume over her tits, or a lot of Hollywood dress tape?
616commando
Comic books are fun! Did anyone else pick up world war hulk five? How about Coutdown, any loyal readers out there? oh and about star saphire: her stone is the love/lust version of green lanterns willpower ring.
omendreamer
How about Coutdown, any loyal readers out there? I am following that solely on livejournal's scans_daily community, since I don' t want my money reinforcing Dan Didio's opinion that killing everyone is the best way to generate interest. Of course the man used to work on soap operas, so I shouldn't be surprised. Emo-boy Superman-Prime as a pastiche of the fans just really bothers/insults me. I only consistently follow some Vertigo comics right now-everything else I pick up an issue here and there on recommendation-lots of Authority, Elseworlds, and Blue Beetle. Damien (or however the hell you spell that) is scaring me away from Batman right now (except for Batgirl issues) and Ironman dickery has me leery of Marvel. 616commando
Midnighter is bar none the toughest character in comics. The guy walked on mars in his grifter/midnighter series. Mars! With no suit! The guy is tougher than MAX punisher, who is no slouch in the killing department. I've actually stopped buying countdown recently, after collecting the whole run of that, and 52. lol Superboy prime is emo to the max. Poor sad guy just can't find a friend, he's so misunderstood.lol Emo's funny. Used to hate it, but now, seeing emo kids is like seeing a cute kitten. lol aww... Anyway! comics! Does anyone read MAX comics? It's about the only depiction of punisher that is completly realistic. It is too bad about Iron man, the poor guy didn't write his comic books, its not his fault he's so lame now. I'll go on record th Iron Man isn't so bad, just misunderstood. hang on, i gotta go put on pinback.....
