Interesting that they split up the Monsters sets, with Mummy coming out in two weeks and Hunchback pushed back to the usual October date. Expensive couple months coming up, then we sort of hit a wall at the beginning of October. I would think DST would want to get Battle Beasts in stores for holiday shopping; it seems weird they still haven't been solicited... maybe they're giving TRU the first bite at that apple, then rolling into specialty stores early next year? On the other hand, SFxT 2 and Walking Dead 2 are now slated for mid-November (which I have a lot of trouble believing). As always, I'm curious as to the marketing strategy behind releasing for public consumption dates that will invariably change by months at a time. It seems there must be some intent to stir up excitement, but I just don't understand why you wouldn't save that excitement for a week or two before the release when you know the ship date is solid. Telling people, "hey, get excited, because we moved such-and-such sets up from four months away to two months away," then having to come back and say "sorry, just kidding, they didn't get moved up after all" seems really self-defeating. Lobsterman Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) If you look at the average release time between solicit and release, six months seems to be a good rule of thumb. Both of those waves have FEB tags at the beginning (as does Trek 1, by the way),, so I'd go as far as saying they'll land in August all said and done. I also won't be surprised when all the APR solicits (Wolverine, Tomb Raider, WD 4) get pushed to October. Walking Dead 3 may be an exception; based on this timeframe, it shouldn't be coming out until August, either, but the TRU assortment is already out, and it seems like WD is a sales priority for DST, so perhaps that wave will be expedited to come out in June as advertised. TRU assortment has some awesome zombies but it's cool that we are starting to get a Woodbury vs Prison group, the original Atlanta and the Farm Arcs. Hoping for a Carl with several different looks to flesh out my display with some other QCs I want to do (Prison Carol, Prison Michonne, civilian Andrea, Riot Gear Glenn). Series 5 would be October/Novemberish? Wishlist! Carl/Penny Carl/Variant Sophia Underwear Glenn/Farm Maggie (with alternate terrible haicut for a QC Prison Maggie. I think undies Glenn would be a funny variation of a popular character we've already seen twice) Tyreese/Axel With Carl and Tyreese getting the Michonne/Governer treatment in the TRU wave and getting repaired with new zombies. The other two sets at TRU should be Doctor Stevens/Zombie Billy Greene/Zombie Carl and Tyreese are set to be a large part of Season 4, which should be starting at the same time. If Carl had an alternate look, and with a non Battle Damage Prison Tyreese QC in mind I wouldnt even mind having to buy 2-3 of each. Quote
