Zombie Shakespeare
My daughter is turning 5 this weekend. For the last couple of years she has envisioned herself as a super hero named Cheerio. Her party is going to be super hero themed and I wanted to make up some t-shirts for family and friends. I've done a few different versions of her character and right now my wife and I disagree with which one to go with. I'd thought I reach out to this community to get some feedback on which design is best. #1 #2 #3 #4 And just for reference, here's a picture of her in costume at NY Comic Con last year: Edited June 5, 2014 by Zombie Shakespeare
buttheadsmate
I agree with your wife ...or #3 .
Turtle
#3 and #4 I like the best. That NYCC shot is the best. You must be very proud.
Bob Harris
Very, very nice idea! I'd say: #1 looks very simple and straight forward. I would add some black outlines to the hair. This might actually depict your girl best. But it's not very "cool" or "stylish", if you know what I'm saying. #2 looks more like an icon for some web design. Cool, but I don't see it on a shirt. #3 looks fantastic! It's very, very stylish and professional! Because of the many details I'm not sure how it would work on a shirt, though. But you should definitly print some postcards with this design! #4 so she already has friends and foes, huh? I like it, but I'm not sure if it's okay for "Cheerio" to not be the center of the party. If that's okay, it's very cool! My vote would be #3 (if it's as cool on a shirt as on a postcard or sticker) #4 (if she's okay woith having friends and foes on the shirt) #1 #2 ________ EDIT: Oh, and you do customize a Minimate for her, right?!? MisterPL
For me it's a toss-up between 2 & 4. I like the simple yet stylized graphic look. The only change I'd make to 4 is to enlarge Cheerio a bit to make her the focus, just by 20%.
Shanester
2 or 3, although they are all nice and the photo is adorable.
karamazov80
I like 3 (reminds me of Super Why) and 4.
pk13
I like #3 the best. But they're all pretty cool looking. It sounds like you and your wife are going to throw a great birthday party!
Zombie Shakespeare
Thanks guys. The other 2 characters in #4 are my wife and I. Cheerio named us Mailbox and Net. She gave equally mundane super hero names to the rest of the family as well, such as Bookshelf, Bowling Ball, Window, Lamp, and Tree. Somehow my brother got to be Lightning, I don't how he pulled that one off. I illustrated most of the family in the style of #4 because it's fairly quick and easy to do. I've played with the idea of making everyone a t-shirt with their own likeness, but I don't think I'd have time for that before the party. EDIT:Oh, and you do customize a Minimate for her, right?!? Unfortunately, I have zero customizing skills. If anyone was taking commissions, I can't imagine a price I wouldn't pay to have a Cheerio minimate, though. buttheadsmate
Bob has zero customising skills & he still turns out OK customs . Irony.
Nervous Rex
I like 3 (reminds me of Super Why) and 4. Was about to say almost the exact same thing

Nervous Rex
I like 3 (reminds me of Super Why) and 4.Was about to say almost the exact same thingNot to hijack or derail, but for the last six months my son says his super hero/ agent name is "Lion Biter", and recently expanded into "Lion Biter Smash Ray" I've wanted to make a custom of that but haven't designed anything yet. If I can free up the time and no one beats me to it, I'll make one for you ( in reality it could be months away, my schedule is super hectic these days) Edit: He will be 5 in July Edited June 5, 2014 by Nervous Rex
blacksun1520
I like 3 the best as well, and it does have a very "Super Why" feel.
hellpop
Aw, come on, that's an easy custom! Here's a quick formula: Shadowcat head, Supergirl skirt, pink arms, light blue legs, a red cape, and bracelets. You can probably use the furry boot cuffs from Baron Zemo for her leg cuffs. The hair is a bit of a stumper, but there are a few messy short hair options out there. Really, you'd just need a decal (and I can whip one up for you) and maybe a little bit of paint. You guys and your zero custom skills....

Lurch77
And just for reference, here's a picture of her in costume at NY Comic Con last year: That is awesome! Have you thought of a utility belt with a few of these? I like design #3 or #4.
MiniFiend UK
I like #3 #4 I actually like #1 but looking at the photo and then the pictures the mask on #1 dont seem to come down enough its more like a hair/headband other then that the detail on the body etc is real good. Zombie Shakespeare
I really appreciate the thoughts and kind words. I think I'm going to go with #3. It's the one I was leaning towards, probably because it took the most work to complete. I'll probably add some text from the theme song that she made up: "Cheerio, is on a roll, to save the day!" That design wasn't inspired by Super Why, but you guys are right, it definitely is Super Why-like, particularly the head.My wife liked #4, but I think I'm going to do something different with those guys. Not to hijack or derail, but for the last six months my son says his super hero/ agent name is "Lion Biter", and recently expanded into "Lion Biter Smash Ray" That might be the greatest super hero name I've ever heard! But, does he bite like a lion, or does he specialize in biting lions? That is awesome! Have you thought of a utility belt with a few of these? That's a great idea. It would be handy for her to have Cheerios on hand, since she gains a new super power every time she eats Cheerios.
Nessex
I love number 4. It's bright, clean & has a bit of a kids ensamble feel, like power-puff girls or something. They're all nice, but 4 is def. my favourite.

pk13
So freaking awesome. It kills me how Lightning got the name hookup and everyone else was pure random hilarious.
UK Collector
This is so awesome! I personally like #4 best. Have you contacted Cheerios about this? You never know where it might get you. Maybe just a letter saying 'thanks for the story', but I'm sure they will have internal newsletters and stuff, and they'd probably get a real kick out of hearing about this. I had assumed (shame on me) that he just would bite Lions, but I asked him yesterday about his name, and he said he bites like a lion (with a Lion head) and went on to explain to me that his "ray" is so he can see inside things (again, I assumed a ray gun type of laser beam ray , double shame) so its an xray power, lol. I may have to get on this with some customs now! btw, I love picture, hamburger and bookshelf!
