  1. Playing with Ultron made me notice that the arm joints are orange colored and then I proceeded to dissect Ultron to discover that it was made from recycled blanks! Here's my Ultron parts list: Upper Body: Orange Blank 2 Arms: Black Blank Right Hand: undetermined Left Hand: Red Blank Pelvis: Purple Blank Right Leg: Red Blank Left Leg: White Blank Right Foot: Green Blank Left Foot: undetermined I'm not complaining, I think it's hilarious and I'm sure this has been done before. But this is the first time I really noticed the color mismatching from the paint job. Anybody else have a unique Ultron made up from different scraps?
  2. When I was playing around, I took off the upper body and noticed that the pelvis spine for these waves are about 1cm taller than normal. I don't know if any other figures in other lines are like this, though. It's proof that these waves have more backbone!
  3. I bring one with me on special occasions or long trips, you know, for moral support or just to have company with me... Usually it's the original Spidey, Astonishing Cyclops, and more recently the SM3 Red and Black Spideys.
  4. What? You mean there's no chance for the Spider-Man and Wolverine Maximates? Oh poo.
  5. My comic shop has them listed for this week too!
  6. Short answer: From my experience, all items arrive Wednesday morning (may be shifted one day due to national holiday or a week due to unforeseen circumstances in delivery). Long answer: In the US, I believe most comic shops receive their shipments in the morning and everything should be ready when they open. I've been to a few in my lifetime and that has been the case with the exception of one. The exception was one shop located in a mall that put up new comics near noon because they had only one guy bag all the new comics before he put them on shelves, which I assume was to discourage a library setting. But the toys and other stuff were ready upon opening.
  7. I live close to UCSD so I think I may be safe for now. :crosses fingers: Three of my friends evacuated this morning and are now staying at my place, which will be fun. They just bought a house in Rancho Bernardo area so it sucks for them. It's a scary time and I hope anyone close to these fires stays safe.
  8. Yes, I reside in the West Coast. Uncomfortably close to TBT. If we get it and it's not on the official Diamond shipping list, then most likely it will be next week when the rest of the US will get them then. Also, Kirby will laugh and point at the rest of the unfortunate souls for one week. We just find out from shipping lists provided to comic shops a few days before their shipments arrive. I believe the entire US got the Marvel Zombies boxed set all at once so that is why I wasn't sure if the usual "West Coast gets 'em first" applied. But if it ain't on the Diamond shipping list and you are not on the West Coast, don't count on them being at your LCS. If you're wondering why the delay, it's simply that it takes time to ship everything from the boat from China docked on the West Coast. DCD somehow does it with DC Minimates but I assume it is with the financial backing of Time Warner. Don't quote me on that last one. Anyway, I'm unsure if I'll get any of them. It'll probably be an impulse decision on Wednesday if I do...
  9. Both are on the shipping list for my comic shop. Who knows if the "West Coast gets 'em first" rule applies here or at all anymore.
  10. The prices at my LCS are the same as JL's, except the DC series are $7.99 a set. Not sure if that info helps but for $10, I'd better like that LCS to buy it from there.
  11. DC Minimates are not listed in my comic shop's weekly email list so it doesn't seem I will be getting them this week. No biggie to me because I'm patient enough and know they will come. This has happened to me recently on the Classic Spider-Man boxed set where I got them a week later.
  12. Unfortunately, it’s always been like this for all minimates. Only exception are DC minimates because, I assume, DC Direct handles that stuff themselves. An example is last week, the west coast got the BSG Series 2, ST:TOS Series 1, and Rocky 1 Boxed Set. Now this week, they are going to hit the rest of the country. In fact, those are listed this week on diamond's shipping list but weren't for last week. So still lots of minimate goodness coming your way this week.
  13. My weekly email from my comic shop has Wave 16 listed. So it seems that it'll start hitting shops this week for the west coast and then next week for the rest of the US. Hope you guys are getting ready for the Avengers!
  14. If my memory serves me right, Mr. T was a preorder gift for the Celebrity Deathmatch video game at EB Games or Gamestop (before they merged). I think I heard about it too late, otherwise I would have gotten a couple.
  15. On top of BSG Series 2 and ST:TOS Series 1, my comic shop also lists the first Rocky Boxed Set too! What a crunch on the wallet these are going to be for anybody picking them all up. And most likely these are west coast only since these properties are being handled by DST. DCD does their own thing.
  16. I'll do you one better. Where's the webline?!?! j/k On a side note, I think this hood would go well on Taskmaster.
  17. Wow. I can't wait until the WWC people come back and post some info and pics. I DST even more now!
  18. *shhh* This is a secret but to get a Hunt Minimate effortlessly, you just need to get a certain pedicab driver for Shane. That'll distract him long enough for you to grab the minimate and run.
  19. Take it for what it's worth but these dates are from the tags at SDCC: Taskmaster/USAgent Previews Exclusive - Dec 07 Zombie Iron Man/Black Panther Previews Exclusive - Dec 07 Defenders AFX Exclusive - Nov 07 Series 15 (Ghost Rider) - TBA Series 16 (Avengers) - Aug 07 (from someone at DST booth) Series 17 (Spider-Man 3) - July 07 (I assume this is now TBA) Series 18 (Spider-Man 3) - July 07 (I assume this is now TBA) Series 19 - Jan 08 Series 20 - Jan 08 And no, Series 15 isn't canceled. Series 16 should have been out by now, but they found a production error so it should be out soon. EDIT: added Defenders to list EDIT2: I can't multi task at work. I mixed Series 15 and 16 up.
  20. This post from Shanester in the "Ghost Rider wave" reminded me about something discussed at SDCC. Much like increasing preorders for the Ghost Rider wave to come out, we need to talk with Target to make them carry minimates again. So as most of you know by now, Target currently is not carrying any minimates. If we want to see them there, Chuck mentioned that we do need to politely ask our Target stores "Hey, you used to carry minimates. I love them. When will they be back?" or some variation of that. Basically, we need to build Target's interest again through some sort of grassroots campaign. Once we get them back with the exclusive Spidey set, we all know they won't regret it. So for those who were visiting Target everyday/week, hopefully you mentioned to them what you were looking for. You all started the campaign before you even knew it.
  21. I'd save this wave by killing 2 birds with one stone (Target bird and current Wave 16 bird) and make this the new wave 16. Salvaged from the current wave 16 - Movie Ghost Rider & Johnny Blaze - CHASE: Transformation Johnny Blaze Salvaged from the Target wave - Spider-Man (Civil War) & Venom (Transformation) - Spider-Man (Web Armor) & Green Goblin (with mask) I think that'll bring sales up and satisfy everyone. But that's just my wishful thinking because those figures are all I needed from those announced waves. Well, and a shovel too just because I think it's funny to have one.
  22. So where is the minimate in the picture? I hope Shane's family doesn't come to the boards often. You got lots of explaining to do!
  23. http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/contact/staff.asp There is where their email is located. On a side note, I wish the person who emailed me back from customer service was at SDCC. I wanted to thank him personally.
  24. I had the same problem with my Hydroman. One arm was very stiff, but finally was able to move. The other was just too stiff and broke off at the joint. I sent DST an email a couple of weeks ago and I did receive a replacement last week. This does seem to be a real problem and I hope you get a replacement too.
  25. Don't worry about it guys. If I wasn't at SDCC, I would have wanted this info too. I didn't have much time to take pics of the panel so you could see the people who help make great minimates and the moderator extraordinaire. But I'm sure they will pop up sooner or later. I just envy TBT getting a hug from *wink wink*. I won't embarrass this person by mentioning a name, but lets just say it rhymes with duck.
