Betty Brant is far too obscure to pair with an army builder, but Aunt May has been on Chucks list for years. Captain Wolf is the big risk here so maybe she is the variant. Personally, I don't feel like there's a May-shaped hole in my collection, but I appreciate that there's some love for her, and that she may finally be getting her day. But Betty Brant? Let's hope there's still something cool to be revealed, although if we don't get at least two new villains I'm going to be severly upset with this wave. And yes, I'm prepared to be severely upset. I mean, I have to suffer through yet another retread of Spidey and DD in the exact same costumes we have before. (Seriously, find me one difference between this Spidey and Back in Black aside from the slip-on mask. This new head looks equally terrible) but I am so excited i can barely contain it. The only thing that would make it better would be a Black Cat! (yes, another one. Leave me alone in my hypocrisy) I need to go lie down now. If that is the Sin-Eater in the back row, which considering he's holding what looks like a double-barreled sawed-off shotgun that's real likely, then one of the skirts is Jean DeWolff. One kinda guarantees the other. Both certainly qualify as characters we NEVER thought we'd see. Pretty clearly DD in the back. Leaning more toward SHIELD than NY PD, though truth be told I'd be happy with either. If it's JJJ on the right, well you customizers who've shown them just how easy he would be to make from a GB Mayor have only yourselves to blame on that one. Is that May? Betty? MJ? Gwen? Joy Mercado? Karen Page? Carlie Cooper? (Peter's current GF and a NY PD CSI) I have no idea. And the TRU packs? Maybe Kingpin / Robbie Robertson & the Wraith (Jean's brother Brian) / Maria Hill. (Okay, days isn't as impressive as months, but still, there was planning involved.) Regardless of whether the answers are RIGHT, I've been enjoying seeing the widely disparate reactions to what the wave appears to be. As a forum noob, it's fascinating. I knew there were different likes and dislikes, but everyone here has their own unique vision of how the line should be laid out. I thought this wave would be a homerun or a bomb, but reactions may end up perfectly split. I wonder what everyone would say if I told them that TRU Wave 13 shares zero figures with this wave? I'd buy the deWolfe, but would never have previously asked or wanted her, a real strange decision by DST, but not an unwelcome one as far as I'm concerned. No doubt that one of the right will be Jameson, fair enough I suppose, though the existing one is absolutely fine. Oh, and the black Spidey, I'm inclided to suggest that is the worst one yet. Sigh, no doubt I'll buy them all with spares, whoever makes the final cut. I think I'm giving this wave the thumbs up overall. I'd say it's a really good idea because the TRU overlap sets take away from the comic shop sales. Also, no overlap means more characters for us, more sales for you and everyone wins.
