SPONSORED BY The theme of this custom contest is to create an amalgam minimate, (an amalgam is simply combining two things together to make one thing) so your entry must be distinguishable as two seperate characters, but "blended" together enough to make a unique character. There are no restrictions on character selection, non-minimate properties are just as welcomed as minimate properties. Want to make He-Man/Link? Go ahead! Want to make Daredevil/Batman? Go ahead! Even published characters from Marvel/DC Amalgam Comics are a go! This custom brings a golden opportunity for quick customs, so anyone can enter. A uniquely crafted quick custom could get as much or more votes than a painted custom. However, there is a difference between a good quick custom, and one that took a few seconds, and required little creativity. See second post for clarification. Prizes! One custom per person can be entered. 2.) Please post a decent sized picture (about 300 x 400) of your custom and post it in this thread. (limit FOUR pictures, the rest can be posted in a customs thread) 3.) Your picture should be CLEAR and behind a blank background so we can see the custom and only the custom. It is hard to vote for a blurry picture, so make sure to know how to manage the flash on your camera. 3.) Please provide a description of your custom, including a title/name (if it is an original character, make one up!), what characters it is an amalgamation of, and a brief history or description of the character 4.) New customs only! Please do not enter a custom that has already been posted on the internet. 5.) Punisher Posted April 29, 2010 Author Share Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) EXAMPLES OF AMALGAMS The preferred amalgam of this contest would be one that can be looked at as Character A + Character B equals Character C. Meaning, you want to make a totally new character, not one character wearing someone else's costume. For example if you wanted to make "Deadpool-Superman", we would like to see a costume with incorporated Deadpool and Superman elements, not just a Deadpool head on a Superman body. The following are to be considered "Character A" is dressed up like "Character B". While these will be "accepted", please stray away from this type of entry. Want to take it farther than a quick custom? How about a custom painted amalgam? Amazon! A real Marvel/DC Amalgam character, who is a cross between Storm and Wonder Woman: What about even farther? Create an amalagm of any characters you want! + = ??? Whatever your amalgam is, make sure it is clear what characters are blended together! Once again, have fun! You state not to make a swap of one or two parts yet you just put Frank Castle's head on a Ghostbuster body in the good examples picture. Some customizers are still making their robots for Charitymates 4 and have till the end of May to get them mailed to Luke. I am currently working on a second robot (for Charitymates 4), but won't be able to toss another custom together for your deadline. Like, if we had made an Amazon custom before, but made a different version for this contest that was the same character, yet totally different? Or should I pm with more specific details? I had someone helping me, and I had two different shots of what is not encouraged, but there was a goof up. I will edit the post to elaborate. Any chance on extending the entry deadline? Something to get my teeth into I thought ....filling in time came to my mercurial mind . First of all well done for organising this contest but I have waited years to impart the knowledge an ex-girlfriend shared with me many many years ago. She was a dentist & I remember her continually talking about the 'Amalgam Wars' which rivalled your other little skirmish you had between 1861 & 1865 ......& explains why you have (or had) in the US....the 'American Dental Association' .....&....the 'American Society of Dental Surgeons' ! Capt Kirk is the best at what he does and what he does is to go boldly where no mutant has gone before... I will admit I Don't expect to win and my design plan was that I threw this together because I had two figures on my desk, Wolverine and Zombie Kirk, I had so much fun I made a whole bunch of characters from this amalgam universe but the rules say I can only submit one, the others can be found over at my customs page (Just as soon as find it and then clean all the dust off the thread!) He has IP's Head, Angel's Chest and Arms, IP's Hands/Gloves, Angels Crotch, IP's Legs and Feet/Boots, and Classic Iron Mans shoulder things.
