Punisher
Toad, Nova, and Pete/MJ are great! Keep churning them out!
Nessex
Wow - more great work. I'm a sucker for X-Men, so i'm particularly impressed with your Mastermind & Toad customs. Keep up the good work.
groundhog7s
Yes, that's some awesome stuff. Can Blob be far behind?
Bob Harris
Is your Toad played by Jack Black? He totally is, right?
youbastards
Is your Toad played by Jack Black? He totally is, right? LOL, I can totally see what you mean, that head/hair combo does resemble JB! I guess it conveys the 'wrong' kind of crazy! I was also thinking of using that combo, with the hair painted red, for Arcade! Now I'm not so sure, I might have to revisit Toad... OK, 1 quick head/hair swap later, improved? lastmaximal
You're right, that Toad look is THIS close to being perfect for Arcade! And great work putting the decals on! Edited June 28, 2010 by lastmaximal
Bob Harris
Jack Black looked awesome, but you are right, it's the wrong kind of crazy. The new one looks much worse. In a positive negative way. You know what I mean. By the way, what's the recipe for JB? That-24-chick-hair + who's face?
groundhog7s
Is that an Eddie Brock face? Now whenever I read old X-Men comics I'll always think of Toad as Jack Black. Thanks for ruining that for me.
Nessex
I actually preferred the Eddie Brock face for Toad. It made him look a bit more 2-dimensionally 'evil' like bad guys often were back in that more innocent era of characterisation.
youbastards
Lol, thanks guys! Yeah, 'Jack Black' Toad was 24 Nina Myers Hair and Wave 24 Eddie Brock (the crazy side). I think Arcade may have to be my next custom. I actually preferred the Eddie Brock face for Toad. It made him look a bit more 2-dimensionally 'evil' like bad guys often were back in that more innocent era of characterisation. I'm torn between them too, I think the 'goofy' face works for Toad, because who would take him seriously!?! I may make another toad custom with a green/purple color scheme and use them both. Yes, that's some awesome stuff. Can Blob be far behind? Thanks man! Blob is definitely in the planning stages!
youbastards
OK, I need some advice on Toad. I really like both versions, but version 1 looks more and more like Arcade (and Jack Black, although I think the red hair for Arcade will minimize that) and version 2 seems perfect for my upcoming Blob custom, the more I look at it. Are there any other head/hairpiece combos that someone can recommend for Toad?
groundhog7s
I don't know about the hair, but maybe Vigo's head would work (if you're going for the more classic look). It's got the lines to give it some depth.
youbastards
We think along the same lines GH, that's the one I'm using in the 2nd picture!
yung doc
Nice work! I love the modern Ghost Rider.
Nessex
If it were me, i'd leave the 'Jack Black' head on until i had actually made an Arcade custom and think about swapping it out then. Just my 2 cents
youbastards
If it were me, i'd leave the 'Jack Black' head on until i had actually made an Arcade custom and think about swapping it out then. Just my 2 cents I combined the 2 and used the Eddie Brock (JB) face with the hair from version 2, I think that is the one I am going to use. It has the crazy look I was going for with the first attempt, without looking like a member of Tenacious D. I'll get a picture later when my camera has finished charging. youbastards
Toad [v3] - as promised, the 'Jack Black' face with the [v2] hair: Modern Punisher [v2] - Removed the jacket accessories and added the classic skull decal:
Punisher
Punisher looks great, but isn't the "modern" version technically a frankenstein robot?
