So if they can use marvel for all the rest of their stuff, toys, comics, statues, it works for them. Marvel also has the security it was severely lacking. andymini30 Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 I don't see what all the panic is about, they bought Marvel coz its a massive brand, they are not stupid, they are business man and will if anything probably improve the marvel brand, lets not panic now, Disney has only made Pixar movies better and they have the staff behind it as well, perhaps we'll get some decent cartoon movies of our favorite characters and as for the EVIL DISNEY website, what a crock of crap, of course disney put jokes in for the adults as well, we have to sit through 1hr 30 of film, lets have some jokes for us as well. I've just checked mine & so far it hasn't affected them at all......should I be checking for anything specific? No, not for the "Borthers," but for the plot itself. I agree with NR; it's very Josie-esque, and i loved those classic shows like Challenge of the Super Friends and their corny little "so bad it's good" segments. I'd watch it. I'm a littlte worried about any license they have. Maybe it's a distribution and marketing deal to get the brand to more people. If minimates die because of this the mouse dies! Disney will let the creative side of Marvel do what they have been doing. But, the difference is that Marvel can now take a few more chances. Some of those well written books that never found an audience? They'll be able to keep going with the Mickey Mouse money Marvel will have. This is something DC has been able to do for a few years now, due to being owned by WB. Plus, Disney gets to market the character brand. Marvel makes pennies on the dollar compared to the money that merchandising alone brings in for their heroes. Disney will probably open new areas for Marvel they were too small to get into before. Hasbro already makes Toy Story figures, so I don't think Disney has any qualms about keeping toys in house. Also, a Pixar Power Pack movie would be sweet. I wonder if we can get comic crossovers into those? Because if that's so... Carmen Sandiego could be her own comic series! How will it be different than the Warner Bros + DC deal? I wonder how this will effect Marvel Island at Universal Studios Orlando.. One of Disney Worlds most interesting competitors in the area... I hope things like that remain outside of the new deal. If I'm not mistaken Island of Adventure is currently being turned into The World of Harry Potter anyway. I was there about 3 months ago and the Harry Potter construction is on the other side of the park. It is being built in between Jurassic Park and the Dueling Dragons. Converting the Hulk coaster, Dooms big shot and other rides would be an easy change to whatever they are thinking.. but the Spiderman 4D interactive ride would have to be completely destroyed and dismantled. I have no wish to sully(no pun intended) Pixar with The Punisher. I never cared for The Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe. This was surprising, but I'm honestly not worried. Disney also owns Miramax, which has released many mature-content films for the age demographics of adults and mature teens. I hardly believe this is going to cause the Marvel Universe to become the next Kingdom Hearts in terms of crossing over. I agree. Surprising, but ultimately I will be surprised if anyone really notices the difference. Well, I guess former Marvel shareholders will notice the difference, but I have no idea how the dividend payouts compare. So my advice? Experience the Spider-Man ride while it's definately going to be there. Then treasure the memory of the greatest ride ever made in your hearts forever.
