NorthRaider
Between what? Good and bad taste? So... I'm not the only one who noticed?
karamazov80
Sometimes, bad taste makes for good horror. But other times, it makes for Begotten.
NorthRaider
This is probably just the prude in me talking in me though, but personally I found the recurring usage of children in the photos just a tad... gratuitous. Does all true horror have to involve half-naked little kids? Ignore the above comment if it sounds too wet-blanket-ish.
karamazov80
One component of horror is bad things happening to people who don't deserve it, and can do little if anything to stop it. In that sense, including children makes a lot of sense to me. Not only are kids generally defenseless against such things, but many/most of our own fears as adults stem from childhood, so we project ourselves into those images--imagining what we would feel if those things had happened to us when we were unable to do anything about it. Including kids as victims does seem a bit taboo in films as I think about it (much easier for the killer to stalk and kill teenagers--and though Freddy was a child "killer," almost all of that stuff happened off-screen), but the whole idea of exploring a taboo subject and exploring parts of our mind that we normally don't like to get into is part of why we "enjoy" horror movies at all, IMO. So again, it makes the work of this guy more effective. Regarding the "half-naked" part, it's just kids wearing "jammies," right? Kids fear the night and going to bed, so he is just getting at that, I think.
NorthRaider
I guess that makes perfect sense. Although, now I've wandered from the photos' "ethical" implications to their common-sense aspect: how do you stage something like that?
handsomedevil
Those are insane! I wonder how much of the "final product" the kids actually saw. It looks like a lot of it could've been added in later. If not, the kids will be warped for life!
Marquis de Carabas
wow. those are really cool. I really liked the first one. alot. the rest were really good too though alot of kids in diapers, creeped me out a bit

Shanester
I think I see his vision, but (IMO) its all a bit candy-coated like Tim Burton horror. I prefer a good old Famous Monsters or Fangoria Magazine...

vbpanizzi
What does it say about me when I am somewhat jealous of the kids for seeing these things as children? Personally when I was little I would have been cool with monsters if I saw them. I mean really wouldn't we all have been that is why stories like 'Where the wild things are' and 'Monster, Inc' are so popular. Funny side bar to this, my wife saw one picture and refused to see the rest.
