-I have Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 on pre-order. I am looking forward to GoW most, but Fable does look amazing.

Yeah, I'm with you Wii! I've got Preordered Fable II, Fallout 3, and Banjo N&B, all fully paid. It's going to be a busy Holiday Break.......not to mention my wife is having our second child the end of December! :D neo

Fallout 3 on this list surprises me... It's pretty gory and not what I would have expected to be "NeoFriendly"!!

I'm really broke right now, so my preorder list for the rest of the yr consists of Farcry 2 and Fallout3 which with a bit of luck will keep me busy for a long time!

Fable looks awesome but I dont think I need two RPG's at the same time... besides I just got done playing the first through while my xbox is on 'vacation'!!

"neoFriendly" - Ha, that's funny! Do you write your own stuff :P.

Actually, Fallout 3 is NOT neoFriendly. In fact, I am still a little hesitant about the game. But, I LOVED Oblivion, and if it's just exploding heads that I have to worry about, I'll just always aim for the body :). I love the non-Linear, go anywhere, type of games. With side quests and discovery. It's probably my favorite genre. Oblivion nearly made my head explode the first time that I played it, it was so awesome. I assume that Fallout will have more of the same. So, I can deal with some Mutant Head Explosions for that.....I hope, lol.

It's funny, but Fable to me is actually less neoFriendly in a lot of ways. You can have orgy's or kill any innocent people that you want, including children. Stuff like that to me is more morally evil than some mutants head exploding. But, like GTA, those are all choices that you can make and are not necessary to enjoy the game!

Either way, I'm looking forward to the Fallout/Fable combo more than probably any two big games in a long time. These are really my favorite kinds of games, so I hope they live up to the hype! neo

It was just announced that FABLE 2 wouldn't have xbox live multiplayer from the start, but will get the multiplayer about a week later for DLC. My guess is that it would be free, considering the Monyleux said it would come when the game shipped.

But enough of that. My thought that it would be cool for all of the people who get FABLE 2 before the xbox live multiplayer comes out to have a contest to see who can make the most money in the game. And then once the multiplayer is up, we could go into each others' worlds and see where we stand amongst other multiverse members. Please feel free to post any of your thoughts on the "contest".

PS: Fable 2 still comes with offline co-op!!! :) But the bad thin is that it will be like the lego games, as where both players share the same screen. <_<

I got LEGO Batman and I like it. Still not as good as Star Wars, but I'm not very far either. So who knows? I actually stopped playing it for a while because at Wal-Mart they had the first three Metal Gear Solid games in a three pack for $25. How could I resist? I've never actually played Metal Gear Solid, and now that I've got the controls down I'm hooked. I can't stop playing MGS. It's freaking awesome.

Speaking of Metal Gear. I've never played a Metal Gear game, but everyone keeps telling me now that I have a PS3 I have to play that game. I've heald off because I normally do all of my gaming on my 360. But I was wondering, for those that have played, do I need to play the earlier games in the series to get what's going on? I've heard it's very cinematic and I don't want to be lost the whole time I'm playing? neo

I haven't played MGS 4 (only b/c I don't have a PS3), but I do know that it is the final chapter in the saga of "Solid Snake," the main character in most of the previous Metal Gear games, and references all the other games pretty heavily. You might want to at least start by getting "The Twin Snakes" for the Gamecube, and if you like that, moving on to MGS2, MGS3, then MGS 4. The other 3 are very cinematic, and reference the others (including the 2 NES games) pretty heavily. Having said that, you could play through and follow the stories in any of the 3 without having played the preceding games, but it makes for a much richer experience if you know the larger story. Plus, though MGS 4 is supposedly the pinnacle of MGS gameplay thus far, the others are amazing games that shouldn't be over-looked.

You could always go for that triple-pack that I found at Wal-Mart. It pretty well covers it.

I'll probably hold off on MGS right now anyway. With Fable II and Fallout 3 due in just a few weeks, I'm going to be busy for a while!

So, Mega Man 9 anyone? I've been playing recently. I really like the game, it reminds me of why I loved games to start with. It's straight forward and super linear and challenging as all get out, but that's why you play the game. Even with a 360 controller in my hand it makes me feel like the good ol' days! I will say that I am disappointed in the lack of a Next-Gen version. Don't get me wrong, I know they were going for the nostagic feel and they nailed it, but I would have appreciated a Next-Gen version of the game as well, so you could choose what you play. Bionic Commando (also by Capcom) is a perfect example of what a Next-Gen Classic can be. Even something as simple as the redisign of Mega Man Powered Up for the PSP. The graphics just look nice and welcome and MM9 would look awesome in Full, Widescreen, HD. That being said, the game still looks good and plays flawless and I'm sure it's going to sell a ton.

What I'd like to see is Capcom go back to the 1st game and release it on the XBLA with Updated HD Graphics (ala Bionic Commando). May add a new bonus boss or extended play mode. And even a possible Co-Op type mode would be cool. Then continue the series on the XBLA (and WiiWare/PNS) so they can re introduce these timeless games back into a new generation. Even at $10 a pop, I would first in line for every Mega Man game (like this or updated graphics) they might release! neo

Well Bungie continues to "up the ante" with Halo 3.

We've seen all types of new things coming down the pipeline from new maps to new achievements to new challenges.

"Sandbox" promises to be a videogame equivalent to a HoloDeck from Star Trek with the "create your own world" feel.

But those are just the tip of the iceberg.

Without further ado, I give you Recon:

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3170468

You finished watching it yet?

Essentially it's new Campaign levels. To our understnding it takes place during Halo 3 on earth. You play as an ODST (my favorite thing in Halo universe!) and fight for survival on a Covenant invaded planet.

Sweet.

Yay I got my 360 back.... Finally!!!

I hate to say it but Im really not excited for the halo news and stuff, Halo 3 just didn't float my boat, I never connected to it, odd as I loved the first game way back in the day!

I'm going to fill time playing oblivion and perhaps some CoD4 online while I wait for FarCry2, Fallout3 and perhaps Fable2.

Now that I've knocked out LEGO Batman, I'm pretty much in limbo until the end of the month when Little Big Planet comes out. As far as what else is in the queue, I'm also thinking on getting Silent Hill Homecoming and Midnight Club LA. I thought the Bioshock demo would tide me over until LBP, but all it did was make me want Bioshock, which comes out at the same time.

Oh, and I demoed Megaman 9, and in a matter of seconds, I remembered how horrible I was at those games and how much I hated them.

Wow, I'm literally thinking about taking a Vacation for a the whole month of November because of Video games. I like to pre-order everything I buy. Not because I'm afraid that it will sell out, I just like to pay them off slowly and then just walk in and pick it up on Launch day. I do the same thing with my DVDs/BluRays. Anyway, I was running over my Pre-Order list for Oct/Nov and this is what it looks like:

10/14 - Indiana Jones: KotCS (Blu)

10/21 - Midnight Club LA (360)

10/21 - Fable II (360)

10/21 - Little Big Planet (PS3)

10/21 - The Incredible Hulk (Blu)

10/21 - Casino Royale (Blu)

10/28 - Fallout 3 (360)

10/28 - Scene It 2 (360)

10/28 - Polar Express 3D (Blu)

11/09 - Kung Fu Panda (Blu)

11/11 - Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (360)

11/11 - Lips (360)

11/11 - Call of Duty: World at War (360)

11/18 - You're in the Movies (360)

11/18 - Wall E (Blu)

And, not to mention the New Xbox Live Experience launching 11/19. Holy Lord Almighty, that's two months people, TWO MONTHS. This is going to be an INSANE time!!

As for Halo Recon, I'm not as excited about it as I thought I would be. That doesn't mean I won't follow it closely into next Winter. As for this year, Fallout 3 and Fable II are going to own most of my time. But I have to say, CoD WaW is looking better and better and I can't wait to get my hands on it! neo

There were harder games on the Nintendo (Ghosts and Goblins and Ninja Gaiden immediately come to mind), but not many. Great fun, though.

There is one reason I'm not getting Mega Man 9. It's because that series has a tendency to be too damn hard for me. God I suck at Mega Man, but honestly it's frustratingly addicting. Extremely frustratingly addicting.

Damn you Mega Man. yu're like crack. Once you start you can't stop no matter how much you want to.

I agree with the Mega Man stuff. In fact, I hated the games when I was younger, because I could never beat them. However, back on the cube I bought the GameCube Mega Man collector and forced my self to play until I was better. Now, I still die a bunch, but I can actually play so it's fun.

My biggest gripe with the game is presentation. I love the Old-School look, I just wish it was optional! I like how Capcom redid Bionic Commando while still keeping the same core gameplay. They should have done that for Mega Man. In fact, I still play Mega Man Powered Up on my PSP. Sure, it's kiddy, but I love the new visuals and lush colors. I really with they would have done something like that with MM9!

And, just a note, I finally got around to playing several demos last night. MLB Stickball was a joke. That game is possible the worse baseball-esque game I've ever seen. I couldn't even make it through 2 innings without just turning it off. I also played Duke Nukem 3D, and I know that game has it's following, but that game is lost on me. I have no interest to play that game then or now. And I also played Mercinaries 2 and wasn't impressed. There was just TOO Much going on. I know the game is about big explosions and beds of bullets, but I couldn't even drive from the edge of the map to the parking garage without getting blasted out of my truck. Just not my thing! neo

What? Sell Battlefront 2? Game Blasphemy! I swear, I've played the Battlefront series more than any other game I own. It's so damn additing and replayable. Can you get any better than that. And the best part is that each battle doesn't feel like an exact copy of the last time you were on that map. Maybe you'll get your ass kicked this time or you might actually get past that damn droideka that killed you at the mouth of the cave the last 18 times you played that level.

It's just awesome.
