karamazov80
and i know diamond have said about not doing Aliens & Predator because they've been done by another block type company already, but come on diamond you could do them so much better..... ditto for Nightmare On Elm Street/Friday The 13th/Texas Chainsaw Massacre Is it that they have been done in the past (by Mez-Its, I'm guessing), or that the current block-toy license is held by this company or these companies? If the former, then why couldn't DST do block figs for those lines after existing licenses expire? The principal of it? Please don't crush my hopes for getting Chop Top!! Spoon Wielder
I would love to see minimates based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the movie. Okay, I'd love to see minimates based on any Ninja Turtle license. Other greats would be; Lethal Weapon The Goonies Blues Brothers Robocop Predator and The Running Man, not so much for Arnold but I want to see all those crazy gladiators as minimates. Too bad Robocop and Predator are already Mez-Itz though.

karamazov80
Running Man Jesse Ventura! Give me one of those, a Hogan for Rocky III, a Roddy Piper for They Live!, and I will be a happy camper. I would love to see DST handle the fish-bowl shoes for the "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka!"-Mates. Edited May 30, 2008 by karamazov80
Matimoo
These are two i'd love: Pirates of the Carribean Transformers My mate, she would really LOVE a mini Jack Sparrow
Trekker 42
Blues Brothers! That would be awesome! Itprobably would go the way of DSS though: a single two-pack: Jake and Elwood Blues
comedian
Ghostbusters would be great. I'd be down for Lethal Weapon too. How about Caddyshack, if for nothing more than a Carl Spackler mate?
Trekker 42
Ghostbusters would be great. I'd be down for Lethal Weapon too. How about Caddyshack, if for nothing more than a Carl Spackler mate? Yes! But there must be a minimate gopher. It is completely necessary. "Freeze Gopher!"
tones
The Matrix. I was watching it over the weekend and couldn't help wanting minimates of Neo and Agent Smith. The license should be pretty easy to get at this point, unless McFarlane still has it tied up. I'd rather it be a series as opposed to one or two five packs though, too many characters across the 3 movies. Lots of costume and variant possibilities too. other wants, some of which have been mentioned: View Askewniverse (Clerks I & II, Mallrats, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back) Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure & Bogus Journey (I want a George Carlin mate!) Ghostbusters Star Wars (OT 1st please) Indiana Jones Young Guns I & II Breakfast Club Mortal Kombat (game or movie)
Twisted Two-Face
Okay...so they technically aren't movies, but i don't want to have to have another thread started and some fuss made out of it. But how about Classic Novel Minimates?? I say this because i'm reading Frankenstein (Unabridged and unaltered; the original text) by Mary Shelley (a favorite writer of mine; she's fantastic) for school, and feel that minimates would be great!! Frankenstein 4-pack: Victor Frankentstein The Creature Elizabeth Frankenstein Henry Clerval Accessories you ask?? Well: Extra arms to remove Victor's coat Sack of mangled female Creature parts A reversible head or extra head for Henry, showing his strangled face An extra hairpiece for Henry A table for Victor to work on A thick book A stack of letters Of course, these are all based on my interpretations of her characters; in other words, be watching my custom thread in the coming weeks. And if you know me you know i love PX wo-packs in my wish lists , sooooooo: Frankenstein PX 2-pack: Dungeon Victor Frankenstein Mr. Kirwin Accessories: A coffin for Clerval A chair Shackles Another stack of letters Completes the main cast I care about, and we also get our first Minimate furniture...and a coffin...Okay, i'll need about 7 of the 2-pack for the coffin alone... DIB
The Untouchables is one of my biggest wants like Jatta Pake said. Predator is another big one, with Dutch, Dillon, Blaine, Poncho, Mac, Billy, Hawkins, the girl and the Predator himself all in 2-packs. But my biggest want is The Thing, it should come with MacReady, The Thing, Blair and all the others in 2-packs. That's basically what I dream about all day. lol
NorthRaider
To follow up on Twisted Two-Face's neat-sounding Classic Novels idea: I wouldn't mind a "The Picture of Dorian Gray" boxset: "Young and Pretty" Dorian Basil Lord Henry "Old and Mouldy Painting" Dorian Heck, a LOT of classic novel characters out there would make for awesome minimates; one need only turn to this year's Charitymates customs for a few ideas. Haven't actually read anything else "classic" in a while though... hold on... A Clockwork Orange. Dagnabbit BHM Nineteen-Eighty-Four? Durr, all the characters I can recall from that book right now are Winston and Julia-with-the-red-sash-around-her-waist. H.P. Lovecraft? Edgar Allan Poe? Wild. ... Any other ideas? Nessex
Give me a Formal Dress Jareth & Sarah 2-pack from The Labyrinth! Someone made an AWESOME custom a while back - but i'd love a 2-pack with Sarah. This was one of my favourite films growing up (it still is). AND you could fully justify using the larger crotch-piece on the Goblin King! Edited August 3, 2009 by Nessex
pickle
I still really want Blade Runner, Dune and (new and old version) The Day the Earth Stood Still minimates.
Trekker 42
The Day the Earth Stood Still minimates. At least a classic GORT and Classic Klatuu with suit and spacesuit.
maxcarnage
a long the lines of "classic" literature why make it easy on diamond and say The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. movie, comic whatever either way we would get a great cast of character. Allan Quatermain, the invisable man (done clear of course), Captain Nemo, Mina Harker, Dorian Gray, Dr. Henry Jekyll / Edward Hyde, just to name a few. Turtle
Fantastic Idea for Frankenstein ...more fantastic book ideas... I would LOVE to see these ideas realized. Books may not sell as well as movies, but these are classics. A Three Musketeers set would be fun too. What about a Sherlock Holmes set? Hercule Poirot? Gatsby? The possibilities are endless. In fact... I still really want Blade Runner, Dune and (new and old version) The Day the Earth Stood Still minimates. Blade Runner and The Day the Earth Stood Still are both iconic movies, and I would prefer to see movie 'mates over book 'mates. Dune, however, hasn't ever been gotten just right. I would love to see AA/DST design characters based on the books.
DiFabio
My wishlist? Batman. 2-packs Batman - Batman/The Joker - Batman (Battle Damaged)/Viki Vale Batman Returns - Batman (Returns suit)/Bruce Wayne - Catwoman/Penguin Batman Forever - Batman (Regular)/Two-Face - Batman (Sonar)/ Robin Batman and Robin - Batman (Regular)/Robin (Regular) - Batman (Ice armor)/ Mr. Freeze Batman Begins - Batman/Ras Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) - Fear Toxin Ghoul Batman/Scarecrow The Dark Knight - Batman/The Joker - Batman (Hong Kong)/Two-Face Movie 4-Packs Rouges Gallery - Riddler (Forever), Poison Ivy (B&R), Bane (B&R), Bank Robber Joker (TDK) Gotham Denizens - Max Shreck, Bob The Goon, Alfred (TDK) Bruce Wayne (TDK) Include exclusives and special sets galore. The different Batmen would be like the current Terminators or Kirk, Spider-Man and Wolverine, dominating the sets. Figures like Two-Face, Bruce, Alfred and the Joker have alternate heads and parts to either change them into new suits from different movies (Alfred) or new characters completely (Harvey Dent). Or if we're going to be strict with this thread and go with 80's only minifigs. I'd just go with Batman (1989) and choose a few other lines. - Robocop (Robocop, Murphy, Mutant Thug, Boddicker, Lewis) - Scarface (Tony Montana/variations, Manny, Sosa, Lead Assassin who kills Montana) - Watchmen, Yeah I know came out this year, but still it's a period piece so why not? (Rorschach, NiteOwl, Comedian, Silk Spectre, Veidt, Dr. Manhattan, NiteOwl I, Silk Spectre I, the list goes on) Other than Batman I can't really think of a better candidate for minimates than Watchmen. So many different, colorful, iconic characters. Edited August 4, 2009 by DiFabio
captain_cbecker
I think that there would be a lot of direction to go with Harry Potter - so many neat characters and accessories - I wonder if Lego still has that license for block figures. Gilligan's island is another list with characters that are pretty distinct and would translate well into mates. I was watching the classic Scooby Doo / Scooby Doo Where Are You? Cartoons with my son this weekend - and I couldn'ty help but think how I could whip up the Mystery Inc. gang with existing parts... and then imagine each of the 5 principal characters packaged with some of the more notorious villains like Blackbeard, the Spooky Space Kook, Capt Cutler (in the Glowing Diving Suit), the Miner 49'er, Werewolf, Dracula etc.
RSIxidor
Just watched Blade Runner for the first time, so that's fresh in my mind. Dune would be excellent, and can tie in with the new movie. (and some stuff from the books would also be excellent, God-Emperor Leto for one)
Twisted Two-Face
Gilligan's island is another list with characters that are pretty distinct and would translate well into mates. Dammit. You people always give me great ideas for customs that i never have the money for. Darn you all!! I'd love Gilligan's...s mates. It was such a great show; i used to watch the reruns with my Grandparents and Dad all the time (Mom wasn't a fan...) when i was little. Shame TV Land stopped showing them...great show. We have all the parts, too. And, DiFabio, even if it is beating a dead horse, i love your idea (nice getting around the DC forum with the movie part ). However, i want to make a few changes, if it's okay that i borrow your list. First of all, i think that two-packs just don't flesh out the characters enough. Sure, they didn't have many, but those they did were key. Sure, it's me and i love 4-packs anyway, but i think this actually calls for them. Each has a two-pack companion set: Batman: Keaton Batman Nicholson Joker Vicki Vale Alfred ~ Hingle Commissioner Jim Gordon Walter Bob the Goon Batman Returns: BD Keaton Batman Pfiefer Catwoman De Vito Penguin Walken Max Shreck ~ Conaway Ice Princess Robot Penguin Soldier Batman Forever: Sonar Kilmer Batman Jones Two-face Carrey Riddler Kidman Dr. Chase Meridian ~ O'Donnell Flying Graysons' Robin Carrey Melted Brain Riddler Batman and Robin: Ice-suit Clooney Batman O'Donnell Robin Ahhnuld Mr. Freeze Thurman Poison Ivy ~ Swenson Bane Silverstone Batgirl Batman Begins: Bale Batman Freeman Lucius Fox Neelson Ra's Al Ghul Murphy Scarecrow ~ Bale Ninja Batman Al Ghul Ninja thug The Dark Knight: Sonar-vision Bale Batman Ledger Joker Eckhart Two-face Oldman Commissioner Jim Gordon ~ Caine Alfred Roberts Sal Maroni Hey, it's a wish thread; it'd never happen, but a boy can dream. Apone
Since the "Ask DST" has said that no Aliens/Predator 'Mates are being planned, now I'm really hoping the licensing gods can come and change their mind. (But their optimism for some T2 vehicles makes me happy) And, what the hell, here be my ideal wishlist: Alien/Lambert Ripley/Dallas Spacesuit Ripley/Brett Spacesuit Kane/Parker Spacesuit Dallas/Kane Spacesuit Lambert/Ash Warrior Alien/Bishop Ripley (blue jumpsuit)/Newt Hicks/Gorman Warrior Alien/Burke Hudson/Apone Vasquez/Drake Box set: Powerloader/Ripley (white shirt)/Queen Alien Predator/Mac Armored Predator/Billy Dutch/Poncho Stealth Predator/Blain Jungle Battle Dutch/Anna Dillon/Hawkins
