Lobsterman
just hit my LCS for wave 5, and they're up to $9.99 a pack! This is getting expensive! Anyone else seeing minimate inflation?
Amazing.JL
Not me but the retail price is supposed to be $8.99 but it's left to seller discretion. Not sure what you were paying. Suggested retail prices per 2-pack are supposed to be: Marvel $6.99 Star Trek $6.99 BSG $6.99 DC $8.
storm 1:08
The prices at my LCS are the same as JL's, except the DC series are $7.99 a set. Not sure if that info helps but for $10, I'd better like that LCS to buy it from there.

I know this won't help but try & use the principle that there are others worse off than you. Minimates here in the UK are generally twice the price that they cost in the US. Yeah if I want to buy DC Minimates in a shop here they usually cost around £5.99-£6.
Reideen1313
Every so often this topic comes up. I'd suggest buying online in the future if you can. Utilize the banner ads at the top of the forum whenever possible. Not only will you get a better deal on the 'mates you're purchasing, you'll help the site with your click & purchase. I got my 4 packs from Stuckakid for $27.99. That breaks down to $6.99 each, the SRP that JL mentioned above.
MisterPL
My shop charges $6.99 across the board (more for chase sets). The owner said if he charges any more, they won't move. He's making it up in volume, though, particularly with the DC 'mates. Those things are flying off his pegs.
Lobsterman
Every so often this topic comes up. I'd suggest buying online in the future if you can. I usually buy one set online and one set locally to support my LCS (and because I hate waiting an extra week... ). But with these prices, I'm really starting to reconsider that strategy. I'm usually okay paying a few extra dollars to get the whole set on release day; this is the first time I've actually passed on a couple of the packs. Guess I'll be picking up my extra custom-fodder sets elsewhere...
Rad
I haven't seen or heard the word cripes in ... Forever! I'm also amazed to see it being used by one of you damn yankee types I always thought of it as an especially English (not British). We now return the subject back to topic. I think your LCS is treading on thin ice charging that much for DC mates. It'd serve them right if you took your business elsewhere.
NightViper
My shop charges $6 for the two-packs, $10 for 4-packs, $15 for the variant set and $16 for five-packs. Not a bad deal.
minijeff
thats more closer to the canadian price...when the dollar was worth less then it is now...but now its almost even and my comic shop charges me 8.95 for series 5 dc and 7.95 for the avengers wave Jeff of the Minis
arnim zola
dc - 7.99 marvel - 6.99 marvel zombies 2 pack - 5.99 A healthy love for minimates...priceless
Shanester
I pay about $7 a pack for DC minis.
TM2 Dinobot
Be glad your LCS carries them. >.>
Dan
I believe that that works out to be around £6-7 right? That's what I pay here, or more for varients. You'll never be happy with it, but you've gotta accept it. Suck tbh but hey, what can you do? At least you have them. I can't wait to get my Avengers and Zombies, but I have to wait with uncertain release dates.

Suggested retail prices per 2-pack are supposed to be: Marvel $6.99 Star Trek $6.99 BSG $6.99 DC $8.99 Well I don't get charged these prices but if it's much more than this you might want to reconsider. At least if you're in the US that is. Sometimes shipping rates make it more convenient to buy from your shop.
Tad Ghostal
Cripes -I've preordered every wave from DCBS for $24.16.
TENIME_art
DC - $7.99 Marvel/BSG - was $8.99, now $6.99!! Thank you, LCS!! Variants - $14.99 (though, for some reason, bearded Thor was only $12.99, so hopefully, they're lowering those, too... )
Magneto76
My LCS prices $7.99 - X3 Mini's $5.99 - Marvel $9.95 - DC $20 - 5-packs.. Doesn't carry the BSG or ST series. So this is why I usually buy all my mini's online from CSC..Although I did pick up my bearded Thor Variant for $5.99 so It evens out sometimes. skynet
My LCS has DC/Marvel minimates for $8.49 plus tax. It's fine to buy for 1 or 2 packs.
hyejinx1984
Is there a reason why DC mates are more expensive than Marvel ones?
Rad
I'm only guessing here but I'd imagine all the tooling for one-off parts might be something to do with it.
MisterPL
Is there a reason why DC mates are more expensive than Marvel ones? Because they're better than the Marvel ones. Seriously, all I know is that I've gotten tons more accessories from DC than Marvel. I don't mind paying more to get more.
TENIME_art
They didn't use to be. The DCs used to be cheaper, until, thank god, the Marvel ones dropped in price.
hyejinx1984
I'm a Marvel purist no more... I buckled down and bought every DC pack they had at the storee today, 14 DC PACKS! I almost have the entire set, save for about 12 DC mates... and, of couse, the C3 stuff, but we won't even tough that right now...
