Valo487
While the concept of the show galls me, I must say I'm very excited about the news that we're going to get 'mates from Gotham. What do you guys think? Personally, I'm hoping this throws the door wide-open for DC again.
Kostisfire
There's already a thread about this, albeit it's in the wrong section. Could somebody merge them?
Valo487
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see it here so I assumed no one had started it yet.

Pedro Pablumo
I'm hoping this liscence will at least lead to the Arrow and Flash TV shows. I think hoping for comic waves at this point is wishful thinking, but we'll see.
Valo487
The door is open when it was previously shut and locked, so hopefully this is the beginning of something bigger.
stack32
I've got a feeling DST was only able to get this license because DCC had zero interest in it. But then I would have thought the animated stuff DST is doing should have been impossible too so who knows?

fwoosheyman
I gotta agree with Stack that these are the measly crumbs DST could get due to DCC's lack of interest or production limitations. DC animated statues are probably due to production limitations as well. This also seems to answer whether DST can make Batman 66 minimates as well. I can't imagine they would make Gotham instead of Batman 66. The only positive out of this is DST and DCC appear to have some sort of business relationship and maybe that can lead to other things in time. Mysterious Stranger
Gotham is a Fox production and the merchandise rights probably belong to Fox. So DC never entered the conversation. Just continuing DST's relationship with Fox licenses like Alien, Predator, etc.
Valo487
I'm pretty sure DC still has some say over the license for their characters.
Turtle
I would think so, but I would still like to know more about how they do licensing with Fox and NBC/Universal on things like this. I would think at the very least DC would have given DCC right of first refusal or something similar, but you never know. One or both may have full merchandising rights. (I know that Constantine is now over, but I've enjoyed that more than the other current DC shows, and would love for DST to do Constantine in Select and a box set or two of minimates.) Captain Paco
I do really like that show and can't wait for the minimates to get released.
Turtle
In the TF thread Zach said this deal is directly with WB, so that answers that.
MisterPL
So what's the initial line-up? We've got a 2-pack for SDCC confirmed and a 4-pack on the way, as I understand it. Gordon and Penguin seem to be safe bets and I'd be surprised in Bullock and Bruce didn't show up. Who's gonna make the retailers comfortable? I'm thinking the SDCC set will be variants of characters already being offered in the 4-pack.
