Bob Harris
That's what you earn when you're to slow/lazy. I was collecting the pieces and parts for the Nick Fury agent of SHIELD cover, too. But I was also working on a different cover and wanted to choose in the end. We'll see... Anyway, nice job, Smashmaster! Edited August 29, 2011 by Bob Harris
Ivan
Here's my entry, World War Hulk #4. Used the artwork from the Marvel website for the main scene, and for the titles I used this: This was a lot of fun to do. I think I'm going to replicate one of my alternate choices just for the fun of it.
The Geohound
Really wishing I got done before Ivan posted that, because that is absolutely awesome.
groundhog7s
Way cool Ivan. Although as awesome as it is, I would have been disappointed had you done anything less than this. You continue to set the bar extremely high for your work and each time it goes higher. I fear at one point you might break under the pressure of having to live in the shadow of yourself. We'll know you've reached that point when you release a feature length recreation of Citizen Cane starring Shockinis. I love your work, but I want you to know I am praying for you. warburger
At the risk of revealing my potential entry, I have a couple of questions Luke... 1. Would wrap covers be acceptable? 2. What if a similar cover replication has been already posted before by a different person, would it still be ok to do another rendition of it? It would be very different in the sense that the existing post "might" have used actual minimates to make the cover while I "might" simply draw the cover in minimate form. Thanks! warburger
^Just to be clear, I meant the existing cover replication was posted in another forum or another thread here in MMMV and not as an entry in this contest.
Bob Harris
Ivan: amazing! Really. That's something I have absolutely no experience with so it's some kind of magic for me and I really enjoy it. Especially like Black Bolts mask. The way it reflects the light and you can see the cut out eye parts. Great. And warburger, Luke never said you aren't allowed to do a cover somebody else already did. I'm still working on my second cover and in case I'm not really satisfied with it, I would use my Nick Fury, agent of SHIELD cover, which Smashmaster did, too. Luke, what's the deal? Ivan
Thanks everyone. This Blender stuff is currently just a hobby for me. Maybe 'hobby' is too light a word. 'Obsession' is more apt. I can't stop thinking about it, coming up with new ideas and things I want to try. My day job is pretty dull, I work as a nuclear chemist making neon signs. Groundhog, I'm pretty sure the mental breakdown will come before Shockini Citizen Kane*. Now that you mention it, maybe my Lord of the Rings recreation with popsicle sticks is a step in the wrong direction. (*Although now I want a Minimate version of the Orson Welles emphatically/defiantly clapping gif.)

The Geohound
I am Completed. My entry. Amazing Spider-Man #404 I love this cover. The Original: I'm not entirely happy as the lighting seems to have really washed the vibrancy out of my background, but I like it overall. Mattallica
Geohound nice entry, how did you make the background? did you airbrush out the figures from the cover or make that entirely from scratch?
The Geohound
Geohound nice entry, how did you make the background? did you airbrush out the figures from the cover or make that entirely from scratch? I painted the web stuff in the back in Photoshop. All the other things I did in Illustrator, laid all that out and printed it on a piece of cardstock and then took the picture with the mates in front of that. So basically it's all made from mostly nothing. Edited September 5, 2011 by The Geohound
Bob Harris
Vbpanizzi: verry clever! I really like it! Also sneaking Thodt in there, very cool! Geohound: The background is fantastic!
