  1. In the context of the show, however, it's Ben Reilly. So depending on what DST is judging by, Kaine has not yet been made.
  2. Porting this over from the X-Men thread: Should this indicate that it isn't the Clone Saga? Because we certainly have seen several of the key players of that storyline. . . Could it be "The Gathering" ? or "Planet of the Symbiotes" ? I can't think of anything other than "Clone Saga" that fits this so purely.
  3. It's a snarky way to say Wolverine because X-23 was Wolverine at one point. Anyways. Based on Zach's earlier comments I would be comfortable saying that it doesn't HAVE to be Wolverine. Could be a Storm variant, could be a Colossus variant. Could be loopholes saying that they're looks we haven't seen. Could be entirely fresh. I trust DST to not make the same mistake 20th Century Fox made in considering Wolverine as the only X-Men member.
  4. Including plenty of customized looks for characters! Well done to that fan.
  5. It wouldn't be anything new. obligatory hail, Ivan.
  6. Many thoughts: I was initially unimpressed with the idea of reviving the series. I've stood firmly that the initial series is greater than the sum of its parts, so this exercise to reboot the property felt more in line with the cynicism of Hollywood nostalgia-baits than legitimate intent with the characters. However, I worked late last night and it was too late to watch a movie, so I settled for the premiere episodes of "X-Men '97" instead. And I really liked it. The X-Men are as important to me as they are to anyone else. I was just thrilled to see them treated with respect and dignity again. I was particularly impressed with Cyclops and Magneto. It's a strong belief amongst X-Fans that the FoX-Men films were an utter assassination of Cyclops' character, so to have him portrayed as the stoic, strong willed, brooding and burdened leader I know him as was totally vindicating. As for Magnus, perhaps a twinge of recency bias, but this could very well be the finest portrayal of the man outside of his comic book origins. Not even considering this series as a continuation of an existing one. In a vacuum, this single episode is the best Magneto. I was less thrilled with the first episode than I was with the second. It felt less substantial to me, more of a necessity to get the audience back into the world, a lot of plot development to get us to the cruciality of the succeeding show. But, when that second episode hit . . . After only two episodes, this show appears to be speed-running the major events of the Uncanny X-Men in the 80s. Aside from what they had already covered thirty years ago (Phoenix, Days of Future Past, Fall of the Mutants, et al). I think this is a step up from the original series. That may be due to the initial audience now being thirty years older and capable of more clearly seeing nuance and depth in their Saturday morning programming. Ideally, I would prefer more original takes on the X-Men that don't rely entirely on the same fifteen year period of comics that most adaptations (and comic runs) have continued to. As this stands, however, I like it and am willing to see more. I've always liked the X-Men best when they're fighting extra-terrestrial empires, time-traveling terrorists, and inter-dimensional monsters. There's something so palpable about the metaphor of the only people capable of saving the entirety of life on Earth . . . are those most maligned by it. I'd like the next X-Men cartoon to be a healthy mixture of "God Loves, Man Kills," "Excalibur," "Exiles," and "The Brood Saga," if you catch my drift
  7. I don't think it's that dire. Almost certainly we'll be receiving the can't-let-my-childhood-die X-Men cartoon reboot version of Goblin Queen as seen in the recent Hasbro line. She may not be as villainously sparse as we're used to, but it maintains a devilish and seductive flair and will likely have a baby Nate. As long as we get a wicked Darkchylde variant and a cool demon villain (either S'ym or N'astirh) I'm happy.
  8. I don't imagine this is an argument to the higher ups. Toys are toys and, no matter how you slice it, meant for a child audience.
  9. That wasn't always true. (Hail Ivan!)
  10. Thanks Zach! With that in mind, I would venture that the initial four (considering it's either S'ym or N'astirh, not both) in my above post retain their positions. Assuming the "All-New X-Men" are in reference to the GSX#1 Cockrum team, I would say that it's either Inferno-ized Storm (which would be strikingly similar to Goblin Queen) or another go at Outback Colossus and Zach's comment is a lapse in memory (sorry for the biting commentary Zach, but I'm trying to keep things open). Goblin Queen is a villain, either Limbo demon are a villain and Mister Sinister is a villain. That makes three, but considering that Magik would be in her dubious Darkchylde persona, it could be a fourth villain. I'm happy to get to play these games again, Zach! Thanks for always making it fun.
  11. Maybe we are hopeful, but I want to disagree with you. I think X-Men fans are plentiful enough and, especially with the high-profile revival of the animated show which is presumably adapting the storyline we receive minimates of (topical, anyone?), likely to be interested in some merchandising. Zach said it includes an obscure X-Villain. Is Goblin Queen obscure? I don't think she is. I feel like X-Men fans and even general Marvel comics lovers know about Goblin Queen. It might be safe to assume that the villain in question is either N'astirh or the easier-to-engineer S'ym. That in mind, I could see four of the five slots being filled thusly: Goblin Queen with baby Nathan. Mister Sinister S'ym/N'astirh Magik Who takes the last spot? You choose. It could be Colossus, or a Wolverine variant, or another New Mutant, maybe Havok as Goblin Prince if we're getting wild. But, we received Cyclops and Jean in the costumes they wore during this story not too long ago and they are still somewhat readily available. Hopeful? Yes. Unrealistic? No.
  12. Inferno and Mutant Massacre are clear choices, but they're both so big. It would be tough to whittle the characters down to five key players. Mutant Massacre seems even more difficult than Inferno. With that one, it can at least be kept to the main conflict with Goblin Queen and Limbo. Maybe a Limbo-armor Magik is in our midst? Packed with Goblin Queen and S'ym? My heart yearns for a set commemorating the Brood Saga, off the heels of the relatively recent Phoenix wave. Although, I recognize that it may not be "80s" enough. Sprite Deathbird Brood-Infected Wolverine Binary Maybe another Starjammer, Ch'od & Cr'reee? But, like I said, this storyline is the last gasp of the Cockrum era. Very 70's, not really 80s.
  13. I wish everyone well as the holiday season winds down! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
  14. Does this mean we can expect a run of the Life Foundation Symbiotes in the near future?
  15. But, Coldblood hasn't been made into a Legends figure 😕 Luke, is it a Toybiz Legends? Or a Hasbro Legends?
  16. Yeah – mine are also static. An interesting choice to mold them on.
  17. Excellent guess, but I'm not so sure if KGB spy equates to being a mercenary? I'll go with Bonebreaker – one of the Reavers who was featured in Logan.
  18. I love how it looks, protruding from the cliffs of Dimension X. Very inspired design.
