I found the Batman line today at my LCS, and I'm pleased to report that I bought the Joker, and nothing else. At $10 apiece, they are a little overpriced, and I'm not overly impressed them. Turns out I was worried about nothing.

I think rehashes with differences make for the best exclusives. If you buy Muggs, but aren't a diehard collector, would it really kill you if you didn't get retractable claws Wolverine? How about shiny Optimus Prime? Of course not. Only the major collectors like me and DIB are considering these to be must-haves. Now, let's say that they had done Deadpool as a limited show exclusive and he would never be available at retail. Can you even begin to imagine all the crying and the "How could Hasbro do this to us?" threads that would pop up? Everyone would be ready to storm Hasbro's HQ and murder their CEO. If these were standard releases, I'd be somewhat disappointed. However, I feel that they are perfect as show exclusives. Now I better be able to get these or I'm going to kill someone!!

I always have and always will be a hater of the powerhouse chests, but I know that they will never go away. I'd take wave 1 Hulk's torso over any other Hulk any day. The worst of the powerhouse chests are those used on normal sized heroes, as someone else mentioned. In a perfect world, we could have 2.5" mates of Hulk, Juggernaut, etc... to differentiate the sizes rather than to put an extra piece on the torso that usually limits the arm movement. As a collector since the 3" days, I find that I actually like most of the newer mates better than the older ones. I do prefer painted masks over the new FHS style, but for some reason figures like Union Jack and Batman don't look out of proportion to me. I wonder if it's just because we were so used to old style Spidey. Not too big a fan of the sculpted Thanos hands, either, but other than that I think he looks great. If only I had an old style Thanos to swap hands with when this one comes out. I like the more detailed paint apps, just not the unnecessary sculpting.

The numbered Gold Spideys are in sealed baggies, but the Silvery Spideys are taped shut.

I sold my Gold Spidey to a member here for $700 a few years ago. I hated to sell it, but I was in a financial crisis and didn't have much choice. At times, I wish I still had it, since I actually won it at WWC, but that's the way things go sometimes.

Add me to the list of lousy older players. I think once you hit your early-mid 20s, you are already starting to become a fossil on Xbox live. I've played with people who basically told me I wasn't that good, then they would find out that I'm actually 35, and all of a sudden they start patronizing me! It's kind of funny, but sad at the same time. I like to think I'm still at least somewhat cool, but I guess I'm not. I play a lot of Swat on Halo. It's hard, because a single headshot kills you. It takes a lot of time to get used to it, but I prefer it over the standard team slayer game. I'll send you a friend request next time I'm on, Shane. My xbox tag is leg0guy (zero instead of the letter o) but I'm considering changing it to Bulbasaur, for comedic purposes of course. I play a lot with my boys, so if we are ever on at the same time, maybe we can hook up.

I've spent some more time looking at them, and I still hate them. While I don't care much for the heads, I can live with them. It's the bodies that really just suck the whole place up. Awful. Just plain awful. And $20 apiece, no less. At $5, I maybe could be tempted into buying Batman and Joker just for fun, but $20? Forget about it. Shockinis are better than this crap.

This was always a sore spot for me. I have no problem with a character like the Hulk being the same size as Wolverine, so it was a bother to me to have Bane being so much bigger than Batman. I always preferred one body type, but since the DC mates are dead I guess it's kind of a non-issue for me now.

I ordered right at noon, and it appears it went through. Still, this setup sucks. Why not limit quantities to one or two for the first week, and then allow quantities up to 10 after that? If they would get this crap right, I bet a lot of the scalpers would stop fooling with them. Even though I got my order through, it's aggravating to think that if I weren't able to be near a computer when they went live I would have missed out. BS Mattel.

Man, there's so much to like here. Most boards that are dedicated to a certain toy have the attitude that all other toys suck. You don't find that here. Sure there are opinions, but it's almost always done respectfully. Plenty of good information to find and Minimates and other toys for sale/ trade in the BST forum. But most of all, the people here are the best thing about the forum. You don't find a lot of the BS fighting that goes on in a bunch of other forums for toys. Several guys here I've known since the aa forum days, and the newer people seem fit right in. We may get an occasional idiot, but they usually get weeded out before too long. Group hug! AWWWWWWWW!

I found mine last night at my local TRU. Does anyone know what pack the other, non trenchcoat, Sabretooth is going to be in? The back of the box shows two different Sabretooths, but I only saw the one with the trenchcoat.

Unbelievable work, man! I like how the shading on classic Batman's face kind of looks like a bat spreading its wings. I'd love to have one of those, just can't afford to commission one at the moment. You are the man when it comes to Mugg customs.

Hey Greg, I've seen you on fbtb, but I didn't know you were into Minimates too! I must be the only one who can't stand the powerhouse body piece. It doesn't look right with the skinny arms and legs. Maybe if the limbs were thicker, it would look better. Of course, I would rather see the bigger characters as 2.5" mates like most everyone else would, but since that's not possible I'd sooner see them with the standard torso like Juggernaut and series 1 Hulk. As for redos, I'd like to see a new Nightcrawler with a new hairpiece, and maybe lose the powerhouse chest in favor of something like the shoulder pieces on the secret invasion Wolverine. The original Nightcrawler looks a little hefty.

NOOOOOO!!! Curse the TRU Minimates! I saw them a couple days ago while innocently looking at the Mighty Muggs and I broke down and bought the Goblin and Spidey pack. They are just so perfect! Oh man, I can't believe I fell back into this! I had been clean and sober for a long time, and all it took was that one moment of weakness and I'm hooked again. For those of you who don't know me, I was one of the biggest collectors of Minimates from the start. I had all of the original 3" mates, and at one time I had at least two of each Marvel Minimate plus all the different package variants I could get. I even had a Gold Spidey at one point. I got rid of most of my mates, keeping only my Batman Minimate, my BomberMate, and a few other common mates. I've spent a little over $100 in the last two days on Minimates, and I'll be spending a lot more. I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm not going the completist route this time around, but I'm going to be buying all the Mates I like, and there are a fair amount of them to hunt. I can't believe I'm doing this again.

HD, TRU in Kenwood had one Baroness last night. They actually had two, but I bought one for my son (I found mine at Target a month or so ago) and left the other one on the shelf. I don't know if it would still be there, but you may want to call them and see if they can hold it for you if it's not been sold yet.

Why oh why did I click on this stupid thread!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I have intentionally avoided it, but today like some idiotd I clicked on it. Man, I want some of these.
