  1. I wouldn't recommend that unless DST wants to incur some hefty fines or lose the license entirely.
  2. Thanks for the inspiration. I haven't gotten around to doing a powered down version yet but I'll be doing this tomorrow thanks in part to the current TRU BOGO 40% off sale on Marvel Minimates.
  3. Just picked up another Warthog (M12 FAV) thanks to TRU's clearance sale. $15 down from $25 was impossible to pass up. If I wasn't saving up for Marvel Series 15 (which still hasn't shown up here yet), I'd be picking up a couple of the others at $7 a pop. Great deals for army builders.
  4. Thor actually looks pretty good standing on Mork's suspender. Nanu nanu!
  5. It would be great if there were some sculpted accessories that could be plugged into the unused, exposed pegs. Rocks, street lamps, computer terminals; that sort of thing.
  6. How would you feel about a collector's case...
  7. Sorry. That last one just snuck in there.
  8. Considering there are no licensing fees associated with this assortment, the prices should be in line with other releases at the very least. However, material costs have risen quite a bit over the last couple years and DST had managed to keep price points down until recently. Hopefully this isn't indicative of the new norm but given the price of the Minimates Enterprise (with one figure), $30 for a vehicle with two figures isn't far off the mark. Also consider that these were probably ordered in much, much smaller quantities than a TRU exclusive. The lower the production run, the higher the SRP. Then there's skimming; retailers and manufacturers will often introduce a new product at a high price to take full advantage of those willing to pay so much. Over time the price will adjust itself according to market demand. I'm guessing the typical 20% off sale is right around the corner, probably timed for Easter basket season. Because, hey, who wouldn't want to find a fairy hiding amongst your Easter eggs?
  9. Shit. I wonder if the wheels spin on this one.
  10. Hopefully the new post-"Into Darkness" release date will be better for sales. Seems like retailers would have wanted that on shelves beforehand, though. It's not like there's a Playmates line to compete with this time. Release dates for the Trek Minimates were noticeably absent from the latest schedule as well. Not that I'm worried...
  11. 12. Guess what just showed up on Facebook: Thanks, Zach!
  13. For $20 it might be worth customizing into a shelf for all your Marvel Moviemates. Who knows what Avengers 2 will bring?
  14. As usual, nothing showing up in my neck of Penn's Woods yet. Maybe next week.
  15. I'll try to remember to send you a nice birthday card.
  16. May just got even bigger! My daughter's birthday, my wife's birthday, and Mother's Day all in the same month. And they're more Loki/Iron Man fans so I'm not sure how excited they be to get this set. I may have to keep it for myself.
  17. Ghost Rider with a stand that looks suspiciously like a flaming motorcycle from Hell would be a real treat. [subtle hint]
  18. They work especially great IF you've got spare dividers laying about. Unfortunately the boxes only come with 24 even though there are enough slots for 46. It's probably easy enough to make your own out of stiff cardboard, I suppose. That said, recent pictures I've seen of these tackle boxes suggest that Plano has altered them so they only have the capacity for 24 compartments. That sucks because the majority of my 'mates manage to fit into the smallest compartments. Characters with bulky armor or capes tend to need a double-sized compartment. Then there are ones like Reed Richards or Galactus who require an even bigger space due to accessories or excessively pointy hats. Either way these boxes seem to be a better value than DST's collector's cases. They're less expensive, feature adjustable compartments, and you can see what's in them without opening them. They just don't come with an exclusive Minimate. Thanks MisterPL, that's unfortunate about the compartments. Only being able to fit about 24 would mean I would need more than 10 of these. And that might take up more space than its worth :/ It wouldn't hurt to look around your nearest Kmart. I haven't bought any of those tackle boxes in months so there might still be some older ones available. I hope so because I really prefer those. For now the storge bags should work.
  19. I'd have gone with a Frisbee but steak sounds really good right now.
  20. Is this information coming from the same Zach Oat who insisted in The Speculation Thread that there were no factory issues? Seriously, while I'm curious to know what the hold-up is, I'm sure they'll be worth the wait... unless they don't come with that defeated heroes stand shown at SDCC. Then I'm totally quitiing Minimates. For, like, a week.
  21. You misspelled "March" and the 22nd falls on a Friday. What's that about?
  22. Luke's Toy Store has these hitting March 13th. I guess my lunch schedule has freed up a bit today.
  23. A package with a Man-Thing inside would get me excited. I probably should have rephrased that.
  24. When is this set hitting? I need to schedule my lunch.
