  1. didn't realise y'all already went ape over these! saw these at Lukes today and instantly into my head is forbidden zone by the misfits but also dr zauis dr zauis from the simpsons! terribly excited for these, fingers crossed! also love the ideas re: beneath set w/ ursus and stuff and definitelyyy a conquest one full of jumpsuit delight, I believe kubricks had a rather extensive apes range hopefully mates shall as well... hopefully there's a new apes movie in the pipeline also to throw a tie in set out for after a few boxes of the classics I wonder if there could even be cool two-packs
  2. I like to keep a minimate in my pocket at the two dollar store/charity shop/knockoff import place w/e specifically to assess this on the fly but never go through with it
  3. Hope it went well Zach, and consider this another hand up for a signed copy for shipping for halfway round the world! Anyone bring some old Toyfares even haha personally I would have brought along the one with the minimale Twisted Toyfare Theatre (along with a freshly purchased copy of your book of course) haha doing well man I hope the signed went great and your pen hand stayed strong
  4. beat me to it, was chimpin at the bit!
  5. Merry Christmas one and all, and the happiest of New Years! hope santa found ya
  6. …and photo’s of buckets! G’day all apologies if this has been asked before, I figure no harm can come from a necro post on a forum such as ours, especially with information that may well be out of date, but where do all of you ‘host’ (no, not “The Host”) your images for inclusion here? Any images I have posted here so far I just inserted directly into my posts, now quickly realising I’ve filled up my allocation of space. Where are he best places to post/host images to post here and how does one make them appear in your posts like I see many of you cool kids do?
  7. thank you so much for sharing! that's awesome to hear (as is your 501st action, you go trooper!) both about your home office and how manycollectors you've influenced/inducted I wonder if you've noticed any real eye-grabbers among your collections, I find the bulkier sorts draw the attention of my friends more but that's probably also a lot to do with the overlap. of licences covered in the early days combined with the interests of my mates at large (and indeed, the amount of 3"ers i have displayed) Spitz! what a cool (and vaguely european, like a bond girl surname) moniker for a band, though they look like the sex pistols kubricks would eat them for lunch 😛 it is an exquisite set though i love how complete everyone's kit is (whoever they may be) and a classic big display window from the folks at medicom i bet that's a big box! i was recently lucky enough to pick up a near complete box B of T3 kubricks thank you for the hot tip on the magnets, I will have to give it a try delighted to hear you picked up the full i-men squad! meteor man and gravity girl are fairly abundant here in aus however I managed to snag vapour man and the cat dude and I adore them...one of the first minifigures i ever bought at a secondhand shop was a loose Professor Farnsworth I-men (i-man?) oh man 😛 in other minimate sightings in the wild, I recently used one as an impromptu artist study when sketching to kill time in the sunshine AND THEN sort of mocked up some ideas for minimate scale softgoods with some serviettes/napkins...ponchos to follow perhaps
  8. wow, how do you pull off the magnets? Do you just nestle them in the existing feet holes or… kubricks pretty much are big lego men haha and you raise a fair palz point, I will have to putt my representatives from each of the three lines together and see what you mean… Now i-men, there were some magnetic feet. Totally worth the coin looking forward to stocking (and stacking!) the fridge with minimates
  9. i too would love a reVAMP of Buffy block figures, a minimate follow-up to Palisades Palz efforts much like The X-Files now all we need are some Die Hard minimate box sets...
  10. What are some of the more common or recurrent reactions (especially first time reactions) to minimates (and other block figures such as palisades palz :P) do you hear from people? I'll start: calling the minimate a LEGO. this is of course fair enough, as it's a much more well known brehren. Often in my IRL life though, when i notice someone has a figure (often a LEGO minifig) at their place or w/e of a certain chsracter i endeavour to bring a minimate of the same character by when possible...so many folks with exxxtensive lego collection just call the 'mates "lego (character)" even when they're playing around with it alongside an (as WE know) several times smaller and less articulated danish minifig another iconic is of course "whoops i broke it" when first discovering the interchangability of the parts Have any 'normies' responses to minimate you've shown them/they've seen stood out to you?
  11. brilliant touches for scale, especially the laptop incredible stuff as ever and VERY groovy maxi Manhattan! not sure if I've seen him before; you've always got such a good eye for super characters that makes sense at super scales
  12. Victor Vector though 😛 i'm not much of a gamer myself but i picture your pitches with a similar vibe to the mass effect minimate box
  13. Oh. My. Giddy. Aunt! the master mold indeed, so sorry to have missed this cylonchaney but wooohoooo fantastic work on hiller and bishop! lovely colours, and of course, everything else you've been showing off since (and before, looove the breaking bad minimate so much!) also very informative to hear about the actual process that's gone into the chaneymate, and to those sentinels! such scale, such numbers. i recently received my first ever six-armed spidey so i was double flabbergasted to see that beast of a sential! i love how you can fit a 'mate into his hand too, *chef's kiss* gosh you're an inspiration ps good luck on your own printing journey @Captain Paco i too am hoping to get a tiny bit of access to a 3d printer later this year 🙂
  14. Thank you so very much for your suggestions and insight gentlemen! Glad to hear it's not all that uncommon Shanester (and as as ever you've left me chuckling BHM!) and I'm very grateful to have not one but TWO methods to have a stab at. I've left the 'mates in question tucked away (and quarantined!) a little far away at present but rest assured once I'm back near them I'll see if i can get 'em down to the lab and see if i can get them looking (or at least feeling) fab and of course I'll try and report back how i went for posterity! cheers again gang
  15. Happy Birthday Luke!
