Lobsterman
Okay, I know, I know. But this as a boxset wouldn't be terrible, would it? http://www.comicvine.com/articles/there-s-a-warzone-raging-in-secret-wars-2099/1100-151202/
undeadpool
i'd LOVE an Ultimate Mister Fantastic for Secret Wars mates
arnim zola
Id rather have a set of different howard the ducks that marvel was talking about.
stack32
I could absolutely not support a 2099 boxset that didn't have any real 2099 characters in it.
undeadpool
I could absolutely not support a 2099 boxset that didn't have any real 2099 characters in it. I personally prefer the fictional ones
thenerdieststore
I loved the first secret wars so this would be amazing if they did it
Zexion_Armando
2099 would only work with Miguel, Punisher, Doom, and Ghost Rider
DSTZach
We don't have the Marvel bank license. Not sure why everyone thinks that.
arnim zola
I thought it because the sttle they are done in is similar to the banks DST has done, to me anyway
MisterPL
We don't have the Marvel bank license. If the bank has a bottle opener in its back you do.
elmeaux
How about an A-Force box set? Disco Dazzler, Hellcat, Medusa, Moondragon.
bigvis497
LOL Marvel. But there are a lot of cool designs on that poster. I'd be down.
Valo487
"Let's just swing the pendulum completely the other way! Pandering 2015!!" I'm all for diversity in comics, I think they need to work on that, but is there even going to be an explanation for why these characters team up? Or is it literally just to have a team full of women?
Mnemosis
The explanation is X-Men and Fearless Defenders lol
Valo487
It just feels like a sales gimmick, but that's nothing new I suppose.
undeadpool
Right because a norse god, a genetically modified scientist, a billionaire playboy and super soldier frozen in ice from world War 2 made sense as a team up.... Marvel doesn't need to apologize for hiring new writers who can bring us stories we haven't read before. There is literally nothing bad about this title being announced (at least based on the info we have). If you don't like it. Don't read it. It's as simple as that
Valo487
Thank you for your valuable input. I was asking if there was going to be a story reason for this team to exist, because it feels like a quick-fix to appeal to a female demographic. I don't have a problem with Falcon becoming Captain America or the new Thor, because it's part of a story while also widening their demographics. hellpop
I like Jim Cheung and all, but MAN do all those women have the same face.
Mnemosis
Which is why I've come to dislike Cheung. A lot.
stack32
A-Force is an awful name. Even something like their NOW! hype names would better: ALL-NEW ALL-X-CHROMOSOME AVENGERS!
Zexion_Armando
Its part of Secret wars, so perhaps there is an alt reality of entire female heroes? The lack of Emma and Sue on that cover is a disgrace though.
stack32
Apparently it's part of Battleworld, according to USA Today: In Arcadia — what Wilson describes as "this feminist paradise" — a familiar threat to Marvel fans arises again and because of it, the new team of A-Force is formed to be the superhero standard bearer. The familiar threat is probably Iron Man or Mr. Fantastic "mansplaining" something.
bigvis497
Superia better be involved.
Prowlar
I'm sorry, but that just sounds bad. "A-Force: it soothes even super powerful pain and itching." "A-Force: When only industrial grade lubrication can get you into and out of the tightest areas." About the only worse title might be Preparation A: for Avengers. Still, it's fun to say. Nessex
It just feels like a sales gimmick, but that's nothing new I suppose. Yeah - it could very well be a gimmick - but i'm all for anything that gives more exposure to female characters. And adjective-less X-Men has been one of the more enjoyable x-books since Now! started. LOL @ Prowler
