Bob Harris
Crazy Quilt is just ridiculously great. Your QC Han does look cool. I don't like the hair piece that much, in general, because I got already too used to the newer parts with more datails. As for Luke, he looks like the girl he is in A New Hope.

But I think it works for Han, and that it captures shaggy '70's Harrison Ford.
hellpop
Just finished this today... I was so excited that I had to post him right away. I've wanted to do this guy since I began making customs. In loving memory of the great Dave Stevens, it's the Rocketeer! Lots more info on my blog, of course, including the decals. MiniFiend UK
That looks great, where did you source the backpack?
MINI_MYTE
That Rocketeer is bad ass! Great work man.

hellpop
That looks great, where did you source the backpack? The Cirrus X-3 and the fin on his helmet were both sliced off an old Applause Rocketeer PVC, which I bough here (I'm including a link because the seller still has lots left). On my blog, I describe it in a bit more detail.
dj87
A rocketeer box set seems to get talked about on here repeatedly, and i am a big fan of the film. Your custom is great, really love him... Very impressive likeness under the helm as well. That jetpack could be pretty cool for Adam Strange as well
Rheul
That Rocketeer is astounding!
hellpop
Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. Awesome! I love the decals! I must point out here (as I did on my blog) that I modified the decals from a Cubeecraft template. Unfortunately, my printer seems to be getting low on ink, so they didn't print quite as vibrantly as I'd have hoped. The chest looks okay (though I might end up redoing it the next time I make a decal sheet), but the helmet was a bit of a mess. I ended up (very gently!) painting over the decal with the same yellow paint I used on the non-decal part of the helmet. I think it worked out pretty well; I usually bitch to no end about yellow paint, but here I was glad for its' translucence. A rocketeer box set seems to get talked about on here repeatedly, and i am a big fan of the film. Your custom is great, really love him... Very impressive likeness under the helm as well. That jetpack could be pretty cool for Adam Strange as well Unfortunately, I think Rocketeer Minimates are unlikely... the guys from Action Figure Insider did a panel at SDCC a few years ago with Jesse Falcon from Toy Biz/Marvel Toys, and they talked about some of their plans for the Legendary Comic Book Heroes line, had it not failed. And Jesse said they talked about doing the Rocketeer, and even drew up a design sheet, but that the merch rights are still held by Disney, and they wanted just a ridiculous fee for him. I'm hoping that Disney's new ownership of Marvel will somehow shake things out on that front. I think I even asked Chuck a question about it in an old Q&A right when the news broke. As for Adam Strange, it's funny you should mention that, because I've got an Adam custom sitting here just waiting for a jet pack. But I think that one's just a little too stylized for anything but ol' Cliff.

Bob Harris
Well done, hellpop! I first thought you used a Kree helmet for him, but then I realoized it's fin (?) is sculpted. Good job!
hellpop
Well done, hellpop! I first thought you used a Kree helmet for him, but then I realoized it's fin (?) is sculpted. Good job! Not sculpted, sliced off an old PVC figure, as was the jetpack. If I might point y'all to my blog post once again, you'll learn exactly how he's constructed, find links to the eBay seller with said PVC, and even the decals. Everything you need to make your own Cliff Secord (Betty not included ).

hellpop
Been a while since I posted anything (so long that my thread was in danger of falling all the way to page 3! Gasp!), but I've been wanting to show these off for awhile now: the Earth-2 Huntress and Robin! You can read all about it (including a lot of ramblings about my love for Batman's daughter, Helena Wayne) at my blog. You can also find the decals there, though I suppose I'll also post them in the decal thread.
MinnesotaIceman
I don't know much about the Huntress, but both of those look great!
hellpop
Thanks... that's the original version of the character, the daughter of Batman... if you go and read my blog post, you'll find more info about the Huntress then you could ever possibly want to know. hellpop
Well, it's been ages since I posted a custom. And yet... the world spins on. Anyway, I posted these guys in the Dynamic Duos thread yesterday, but here's my entry in Luke's snazzy contest (which you are, ahem, more then welcome to vote for ). Say hello to Calvin and Hobbes: I'd been planning to do these for awhile, but I'm not sure if I ever would have gotten to them if not for Luke's contest. So, thanks Luke! You can read about the formulas, and find the decals, over at my blog. Don't forget to vote December 8th!
