youbastards
These came today! Odin is beautiful, definitely the better of the 2 Thor figures. His cape is a heavier velvet-like texture. Thor is cool, but doesn't have the wow factor that Odin has, and his 'mail armor' really restricts his arm movements. Plus, Mjolnir is HEAVY and tends to cause his arm to drop if you try to pose it high. I'm really happy I got both of these for my collection, as I really enjoyed the movie. Definitely grab Odin if you are on the fence.
luke314pi
Awesome! I am still on the fence on both of these, but I need to make up my mind soon!
Mirymate
[snip] Plus, Mjolnir is HEAVY and tends to cause his arm to drop if you try to pose it high. [snip] Well, yeah. Don't you remember all the trouble those rednecks had trying to move it?
karamazov80
Odin is beautiful, definitely the better of the 2 Thor figures. Yeah, but. . .he's Odin. Thor is on his way toward me as I type. As is another Scarecrow with Demon Batman Didn't really need to pick up the latter, but after much debate I realized that paying $20 more than I originally paid just for Scarecrow to get both figures was a deal too good to pass up. youbastards
Yeah, I agree. I almost cancelled my pre-order for Odin...really glad I didn't! Hopefully we will get a few more characters from this movie, I would love to see a Hot Toys Destroyer, Loki, Laufey, or Heimdall!
karamazov80
Loki would be a buy for me, unless it looked worse that I would typically expect from HT.
luke314pi
I wouldn't be able to resist Loki or Destroyer.
karamazov80
So just as a heads up for those who don't want to wade through all the insanity at certain other forums--Sideshow will be carrying both the Batman and Predator figures, though the when and hows of it are as yet unknown. . .they also recently listed both Beat It Michael Jackson and Scarecrow/Demon Batman on their site if you passed so far but would consider buying from Sideshow. handsomedevil
What Predator figure are you referring to, K80???
karamazov80
This guy, either "Snake" or "Shadow": He has a new body not previously used for Predators. Edited July 10, 2011 by karamazov80
Mirymate
It's one of those "take our word for it, it looked like this" toys, since at no point in the movie did he ever stay that still in good lighting so you could see for yourself.
handsomedevil
Ooooh... I think I need that!
karamazov80
FYI, Hot Toys is releasing muscle body TrueTypes by themselves. You can order from Sideshow for less than $60 each with free shipping. A much better deal than I anticipated, considering the Advanced TT costs about that much. Folks were previously spending $100 or more for these for custom projects. I'm gonna pick a few up just in case.
youbastards
Looks like Sideshow is producing a 1/6 scale Map Room environment to compliment the Hot Toys figure, unless they plan on producing more Indy figures in-house...
karamazov80
Enterbay just released pics of Leon the Professional. Sculpt looks amazing, but how amateurish does the wrinkled background look?
youbastards
The face sculpt looks great, and I love the accessories, but the figure as a whole just looks 'off' to me. Does Enterbay make officially licensed product, or knock-off trying to pass as official? Is there another picture with the hat and glasses on, K80? Ugh, I tried to go to their website to check out their items...I think I'm having a seizure...
Mirymate
Ironically, I'm watching the American Godzilla movie featuring this actor saving Farris Bueller right now. When one of the coolest things in a movie is the French Secret Service agent, you know your in trouble. youbastards
Thanks! That pic with the hat/glasses sold me!
youbastards
Had a pretty good soundtrack though, if memory serves, with Ben Folds doing a song. But it also had Puff Daddy and Jimmy Page ruining Kashmir. I think I might have the cd, if you want it, drop me a PM and I'll send it to you just to get it out of the house. karamazov80
I used to have it, as well. I think I traded it in with about 50 other CDs at the old "Blockbuster Music" store Thanks for the offer, though
Mirymate
I saw that at the theaters, sadly. Had a pretty good soundtrack though, if memory serves, with Ben Folds doing a song. I think most of us got suckered into that one back in the day. In hindsite, and having watched it on TV a few times since, it's not a terrible giant monster movie. It's just that they marketed it as Godzilla, and it clearly wasn't. But then, if they called it Iguanazilla, or Attack of the 70' Geko, then it would have never made it to the theaters in the first place. (you can decide in your own heart if that would have been such a bad thing or not.) But back on topic, that's a darn good likeness of the only dangerous frenchman of the modern era. (he was in Ronin too, got motion sick on the 2nd car chase in that one I did. The stale Nachos probably helped)
karamazov80
I also saw Ronin at the theaters, and about fell asleep during the movie I can't remember anything about it except that I didn't like how Sean Bean's character was used. IMO, that movie is worth a second chance. Jean Reno was also in the Steve Martin Pink Panther remakes...
