Zak Katz
I miss the wild and fun speculation that comes with the unknown. Who are your guesses for Wave 65? Mine are... Abomination Planet Hulk Classic Falcon Bucky Cap X-Face Cyclops Toad Magik in her leather boots Now! Magneto My theme was vs. and allies. Keeping universes in the same 2 packs. Your turn! Unless 65 is the animation stuff, which we already know haha
youbastards
My guess? None of those. Most likely 1 or 2 new characters that people have been asking for, and a bunch of re-do's or costume variations of existing characters that will piss off Valo. karamazov80
Well in fairness, almost all of Katz's figures would be re-dos or costume variations.
Kostisfire
My guess? All-New, All-Different Marvel NOW! costume redesigns. ANAD Hulk Invincible (Anime) Iron Man Green Glowing Spider Spider-Man Ant-Man Sneakers and Axe Doctor Strange Star-Lady (Kitty Pryde in Star-Lord's costume)ANAD Wolverine (X-23) Daredevil No Black Panther, Blue Marvel, Moon Knight, 2099, Inhumans, Magik, Squadron or anything like that probably. Just more A-Listers with slightly new costumes. TRU might get something like Space Venom or Old Man Rogers, but I'm not holding my breath for other ANADM players. youbastards
Why does it feel like, by finally bringing all of the "alternate" realities together, Marvel somehow managed to keep the worst things about all of them? It's like they made an intentional decision that, instead of using Secret Wars to fix all of the years of continuity garbage and bad decisions, they doubled-down on most of it. MisterPL
When will this hypothetical assortment hit? Because that could mean the difference between a comic- or a movie-based series.
youbastards
Should be comic based, as there are no Marvel movies until Civil War in May. Deadpool is in February, but I'm willing to bet we might only get a boxset (or 2) like Ant-Man. X-Men Apocalypse is also May 2016, if DST even supports the movie. With JLaw's Select figure getting cancelled last year, it wouldn't surprise me if they just decided to skip it. Waves 62 and 63 should be soon (next month or two), 64 will most likely be Nov/Dec. They should be able to get at least one more comic-based wave out before Civil War. Yeah, Civil War is either going to be 2 waves, or we will somehow miss a lot of characters. Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye Daniel Brühl as Helmut Zemo Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine Paul Bettany as Vision Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man William Hurt as General Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man Martin Freeman as a to-be-confirmed character Those are the 17 announced characters, not taking into consideration any army builders, surprise characters, or variations of announced characters. Kostisfire
Sneakers and Axe Doctor Strange This Doc Strange is also going to be making house calls. And carrying a shield, spear, sword and more. Also, his cloak is a hood, he has no sash but a leather belt and no gloves... It's not looking good IMO...Anything but Moon Knight. I can't stand Moon Knight. Most likely 1 or 2 new characters that people have been asking for, and a bunch of re-do's or costume variations of existing characters that will piss off Valo. I agree with every point you made. In all seriousness, there are some costume variations I would actually like to see, where I start to really have a problem is when we get remakes of specific costume versions when we already have 19 versions of a character. I have no affection for the disco Dazzler costume, but I know a lot of people love it, so no harm no foul. But now it's getting to the point where people want remakes of the 90s X-Men because they didn't get them the first time, when we already have multiple versions of those characters in different costumes. How would those remakes be any different, other than the fact that you would now have them when you didn't before?
youbastards
They *might* try to make an entire wave out of Deadpool, we know that DST has had a lot of success with the Deadpool boxsets in the past. If DST has been happy with the Age of Ultron 61/63 split sales numbers, then I would rearrange the waves as such: Wave 66: Deadpool movie Wave 67: Civil War series 1 Wave 68: X-Men Apocalypse OR Comic Themed Wave if X-Men is skipped Wave 69: Civil War series 2 Wave 70: Comic Themed Wave Wave 71: Dr. Strange or Comic Themed Wave? I can see Dr. Strange being given the shared boxset approach with Comic-Con and LCS sets. Edited July 21, 2015 by youbastards
Valo487
I really wish we could just get one wave for Civil War, and have it only be the characters that are new or in different looks. That being said, I have a better shot of having Zach call me at home and asking me what the next wave should be than not getting a massive rollout for Civil War. youbastards
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that DST isn't going to make Minimates for two different FOX movies, and with the combination of proven sales numbers behind Deadpool and Marvel wanting to discourage X-Men product, X-Men Apocalypse isn't going to make the cut. I am 100% fine with that decision. This Doc Strange is also going to be making house calls. And carrying a shield, spear, sword and more. Also, his cloak is a hood, he has no sash but a leather belt and no gloves... It's not looking good IMO...So instead of Stephen Strange, we have Ares as Dr Strange? fwoosheyman
I think Kosti is right (wow...never thought I'd type that. ) Mostly "all new & all different" variants of the big names with 1 or 2 new characters. It's DST's pattern and I see no reason why Chuck would change it.
Valo487
I can deal with the constant recycling of the big names if it allowed us to get something new, for example the way they mixed the X-Men with the Brotherhood recently was an excellent idea. Why can't they do the same thing with the Avengers and the Wrecking Crew or the Masters of Evil?
arnim zola
^ This. A hero vs villain set or 2 is what should be stocked at Tru at the least. Maybe one hero and a sidekick/buddy set as well. A hero and villain in one box is an afternoon of play right there. A few accessories and you have everything you need in one little box for $7.50. From Aaron's interviews I got the impression that he wants to write a Sandman like story, where magic always has a price, but I can't say that I'm loving what I'm hearing. The axe, shield and whatnot are supossed to be artifacts of great power, but IMHO, Stephen should use ancient scrolls amulets, not bows and arrows. Once in a while it's good, but it should not be the main focus. "The Oath" managed to have a Doc that was a magician, a doctor and a fighter, without making a mess. This book though simply doesn't sound like Doc Strange. It's as if I'm reading Wiccan: The Grown-Up Years or Constantine: Porn Stache Edition. It's still going to my sub list, but that's mainly because I love the character and like the creative team, not because I like the pitch. Valo487
They've said in the past that even with an A-Lister in the two pack they can't make "just anybody," although that seems to be an "eye of the beholder" situation.

But saying Moon Knight or Ghost Rider can't appear in a wave, even packed with Spider-Man or Iron Man, while there exists a Disco Dazzler/Howard 2-pack in this day and age just doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, I've had this very same conversation many times already, so I'm not going to repeat it again.

But aha! here is where you're wrong! There is actually a Moon Knight-esque reference in The Winter Soldier, when Sitwell mentions a person of interest in Cairo. See? It totes counts...
