TENIME_art Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I've been really wanting to make my own, so if you have one already, post it here! I was eyeballing this Lego set, and thinking I could build one to fit Minimates if I got two of them: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Camper-Van-60057?fromListing=listing Quote
MiniJPD Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I want to make dioramas all the time. If I had the room, I would've made a to-scale prison and possibly Woodbury by now. Post pictures if you end up making anything! Quote
TENIME_art Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 Using the Lego Designer, I made myself a set to fit in the cube shelfing unit I've currently got the survivors & zombies (and Resident Evil people). A guard tower, a crumbling wall, a fence. Patches of grass & dirt. A road. The updated version doesn't have a price estimate, only an "Upload to Lego.com", so I did that, and it's awaiting approval, so I'm hoping I'll be able at least see how much it would all cost me. It's about 200 pieces, if I recall correctly. Quote
Bob Harris Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Tenime, you're gonna love this one he! I do. Quote

Roccothegreat Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 you guys like having your minimates with lego stuff? i rather find things inscale not lego brick dots showing. Quote
MisterPL Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Personally, I don't think Lego matches the Minimates aesthetic. It's not only out of scale but I see Minimates as more of a mix & match play pattern than a construction toy. The MAX line is a great example. The jets are deformed to fit the Minimates but just like the figures, you can reconfigure them or by purchasing more than one swap parts and make your own. That play pattern is what I'd look for in playsets and it's what I think of when creating dioramas for Minimates. Quote
TENIME_art Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 I like them because of the foot pegs for the Minimate feet. Quote
buttheadsmate Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Mega Bloks provide some seriously good & spectacularly cheap (ebay) parts which have diorama potential . Quote
youbastards Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) I'll admit that I haven't done anything with it yet, but last year I picked up one of these Normatt 1/20 Winnebago Chieftans. It is a little oversized (Minimates are closer to 1/26 or 1/28), but I think it will look great in a display. They are fairly hard to come by here in the US, but I do see them show up on eBay from time to time. Edited December 10, 2013 by youbastards Quote
MisterPL Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Cool. That must be Bruce Banner's Winnebago because it's towing Hulk's snowmobile. Quote
youbastards Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 C'mon, PL, everyone knows Hulk rides an ATV, not a snowmobile! Quote
MisterPL Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 GAH! That Hulk's not wearing a helmet! I'm contacting Disney and the Concerned Mothers Brigade! Quote

When I was doing some scale modeling with my Star Trek minimates, they came out in the same scale as the AMT Shuttle and AMT Bridge Playset, which was more around 1/32... Scroll down about halfway through this thread to see an example of the Enterprise Bridge... http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=3972&page=3 Edited December 19, 2013 by Macross-Junkie Quote
buttheadsmate Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 So you're suggesting that the Enterprise Bridge would be useful for zombies ? Wait for it.............. wait for it.......... The Warping Dead ? Remember where you read that first Quote
buttheadsmate Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) So I got to thinking ......howzabout Star Trek The Final Deathtination 2 pack Minimates with ....... Captain Robert T. Kirkman & Bones McCoy Pavel Checkedoff & a Klingingon . If you want better..... send money. Edited December 20, 2013 by buttheadsmate Quote
MisterPL Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 If you're going to do a Walking Dead/Star Trek mash-up, you'll need plenty of Deadshirts. Quote
