  1. I could see this: Mockingbird (w/ Skrull head) / Queen Verenke Power Man / Iron Fist (both with Skrull heads) Invisible Woman (w/ Skrull head) / Skrull Soldier Extremis Iron Man redo (w/ Skrull head) / Skrull Soldier
  2. We could get an entire throwback wave for Secret Invasion with the major player and each pack coming with two Skrull heads to make your characters intergalactic fiends!
  3. I understand your reservations and I agree with your feelings to an extent. I don't think that's the best character for him to do, but as I said he's one of my favorite modern writers in general (specifically his articles in "The Atlantic") so I still found a way to enjoy it. I hope he'll get to tackle Spider-Man in the future, I'd be really interested to see his take on that extensive Mythos.
  4. Let me first say that I am sorry to hear about everyone's tough times. I know starting a new year off on a bad foot can be terrible and the transition from the crappy old year doesn't help much either. My 2016 wasn't horrible, but it wasn't anything to write home about. I guess the major stuff would be me rethinking my life completely. I've been big on acting since I was about twelve years old and haven't stopped since that first show, but recently I've felt unfulfilled with it. I still enjoy it and want to keep doing it, but it feels like a Saturday where all you did was watch reruns of Seinfeld of TV. It was nice, but you probably should've done something else. I still act and wouldn't mind continuing to, but I've realized that my true passion is comic books. Been a fan since my dad passed his old issues of Detective Comics and Batman to me when I was around three or four. After having comic books in my life for so long, I've started to grow more and more attached to them. As if they're a separate part of me. With that being said, I want to write comic books. I want to tell the stories I told with my action figures on my basement carpet when I was so young. I want to create adventures for my favorite characters. Comic books have always been there for me, now I want to be there for them. In regards to new books that are being released, I've never been too big into buying Marvel books but I enjoy getting the TPBs of older books like the Claremont X-Men or classic Avengers, hence why I'm so big on classic Marvel Minis. Modern Marvel just doesn't do it for me. I feel like most of the books are all the same and they all try so hard to reflect the film universe (which isn't a bad idea, its great marketing, I just don't think the films are the best representations of the characters to go off of). Like I said, most books are like this. I do think there are a few diamonds in the rough. For example, I enjoyed the Black Panther run from this year. Kostis, I know you weren't a huge fan, but it was written by someone who does editorials for "The Atlantic" which is my favorite magazine. Also the Hellcat run from this year was fun. I think the idea of a rebooted Young Avengers is cool with Chulk, Nova and past Cyclops (even though the timeline shouldn't even exist if Cyclops wasn't in the past to do all the stuff he did, but that's beside the point), but I just haven't gotten completely behind it. I've picked up a few titles from DC Rebirth and have enjoyed them. Justice League is interesting how all the heroes are reacting to post-Crisis Superman. Aquaman is good, Flash isn't bad and Snyder's All Star Batman is great. I also tried to get into the new Doom Patrol book, but couldn't find an issue past issue 1. I don't now how good it is, can someone tell me so I can decide whether or not to track down the other issues? That's a bout it for the world of comics. Minimates, on the other hand, are becoming difficult to keep track of. I've fallen out of the Marvel game because very few waves are interesting to me anymore, Aliens has become a hassle with all the different character variants and vehicle variants etc. etc. and I still yearn for the continuation of the DC property. I find myself looking on eBay for DC mates every so often just hoping that I'll find a new pack float up. It'll never happen, but nothing wrong with wishful thinking. Like many others, I've started collecting the Batman Animated figures. Not much, though as I only want a few characters. Once they release a regular Freeze, I'll be content. DC Icons has been a good line for me. I have most of those figures. Good sculpts and character selection, but a little lacking in articulation. Not bad for me, they make great display pieces. Thats pretty much my 2016 in a nutshell. Best of luck to everyone in the new year. Goodbye and good luck.
  5. Yeah, I quite like that first Miles run and most of the first Ultimate Spider-Man. I'm not a huge fan of his work otherwise (I mostly read DC anyways) but I like his take on Peter and how he did Miles.
  6. Well, I'd post pictures if I could, but I got the second half of my secret Santa gift a while back but haven't gotten around to documenting it. I received a BEAUTIFUL diorama based on a city street at Christmas time which I can only assume was done by the brilliant KrisLyons. So thank you to him for putting this piece of wonderment together and sending it my way for the holidays.
  7. I'm a little distraught about this one. I know she'd had some trouble with some things so I knew it wasn't going to be a particularly happy passing, but this is just too damn early. I was really surprised when I found out that Debbie Reynolds is only 86! Two more chapters in the Star Wars saga that will be left incomplete. I'm sure they'll find a way to make it work (they could do what they did in Rogue One) but it won't feel right. We move on, though and can't do much about it.
  8. It'll be sad to see you go, but I (as well as many others) am glad to hear that you aren't leaving, but that you're "leaving." In regards of the awards show, It'll be sad not having one to look forward to every year, but I will welcome the finale with open arms. Good night and good luck, Myte. May the winds take you wherever you need to be.
  9. Got the Clayface figure for Christmas and he's fantastic! He's perfect next to the other figures I had.
  10. Happy Holidays to all! Thanks for a good year on this wonderful site and here's to a new one ahead of us!
  11. I'd go for that in a heartbeat! Two huge wants of mine in one wave. If it were possible to get a TRU tie-in I'd suggest: White Vision / Scarlet Witch Green Wonder Man / Graviton Classic Ultron / Hank Pym or Wasp That way most of the characters are familiar to the public, but in versions that us die hards want.
  12. I'd rather save the Warriors Three for an all Thor wave whereas with the recent release of Tigra it only seems fit to FINALLY get the WCA, not to mention how the Wrecking Crew have been a menace to the Avengers just as much as they have for the Odinson.
  13. Maybe I was thinking only of designs I didn't care for at all. Like Bane and Parasite come to mind. Also wasn't too keen on the Ultra-Humanite they had. I'm a fan of the design with the huge brain barely in his head and they shrunk the poor guy's noodle. Characters like Psimon would be cool, though.
  14. If we don't get an updated AIM agent in a new batch of Iron Man minis, I'll be a little disappointed. Whether it be the LCS wave or the accompanying TRU assortment, we need a new AIM drone. Maybe with a more comic book-y MODOK, too.
  15. My issue with getting DC through a cartoon license is that the character selection is limited. If we get Teen Titans, we can pretty much only get those characters. If we get Young Justice, the character selection is certainly better, but still very selective. I'm also not a huge fan of many of the designs. I would be happy if we gat the broader DCAU license considering the amount of characters thrown into four season of Batman, three season of Superman, five (or four, depends on how you look at it) seasons of Justice League/Unlimited, and three seasons of Batman Beyond. If we get a YJ series, I can see us being left with a whole lot of Robins, Superboys, and Kid Flashes.
  16. I'd like to get some Teen Titans minimates if the extent of which it was based of the series is the packaging art and the figures are styled after their comic book counterparts
  17. Good looking prize! Can't wait to see what everyone else got. Meanwhile, my gift from the MMMV elves came in the form of two packages!
  18. Just give us comic fans a nice, new classic Thor wave with a TRU wave accompanying it. Thor/Executioner Loki/Hela Odin/Destroyer Fandral/Hogun TRU: Thor/Executioner Volstagg/Malekith Heimdall/Ulik
  19. Quite a big one. Comic book Asgard is more blue and gold and red instead of dark blue dark green and silver. EDIT: Pic for posterity.
  20. Curiouser and curiouser...... Well I have no clue who it was in that case!
