  1. Oooooh. Fun. I can't wait to see these. When, oh, when will we get an official release of this property? I think these would translate really well into minimates.
  2. Ah, to dream the impossible dream. Wave 9 Adam Stange/Animal Man Alan Scott/ Grundy Kid Flash/ Captain Cold Atom/ Black Canary Wave 10 Beast Boy/Donna Troy Elongated Man/ Firestorm Martian Manhunter/ Despero Black Manta/ Aqualad Wave 11 Catman/ Deadshot Superboy/ Wondergirl Darkseid/ Orion Zatanna/ Felix Faust I think some boxsets could work too: Flash: Rogues Barry Allen Mirror Master Weather Wizard Trickster Batman: Arkham Batman (black and grey) Riddler Two-Face Mr. Freeze
  3. I hope you're crapping money into that hat because this year is getting kind of crazy. I'm at least hoping that with so many SDCC exclusives available, the after-market prices will be a bit lower.
  4. http://www.flickr.com/photos/diamondselect/3551157707/ (back to lurking) Thanks! That was all I needed to believe.
  5. The diamond website lists Concept Spiderman- which would explain where BBTS got their news. http://toychest.diamondcomics.com/default....=83133&ssd= Normally, I wouldn't think twice about this, but the fact that we haven't seen Ultimate Spiderwoman in photos with the rest of the group is odd. After the big to-do over the annoucement, it would be much weirder to change the lineup. Either way, I don't think I will care that much.
  6. fixed your quote If mine is any indication, these must be the ones that didn't make it past QC. Both hip joints are about to go and the waist/tail piece already broke. Zoinks. And one of Colonel America's knees broke almost immediately. I think I can fix Nightcrawler, and Colonel America is a zombie, so, you know, I'm not sure he really needs both legs. Thanks for the heads up, Dark Knight. Weird that the Ultimate Spiderwoman is not listed in the wave and is instead replaced by Concept Spiderman.
  7. Hawkeye looks great! As do the others. These sets are fun even though I don't really know anything about the Dark Avengers. Except that they are (in part) bad guys disguised as good guys. So, does the general Marvel U public notice that these guys aren't the real deal? And does Dakerine have a healing power too? If so, how does the tatoo work?
  8. If it helps anyone else figure things out, I sent my email at 4:30 CST. Good luck, everyone else. And a great big THANK YOU to DST.
  9. Well, since I decoded the message relatively soon after it posted, responded and got some DST love in today's mail, I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that I'm one of the winners. For me, the prize consisted of: White AA Blank White DST Blank Zombie Luke Cage Zombie Hulk SDCC08 BSG Red Dress Six NY Toyfair 09 Unification Spock and... drum roll Nightcrawler. A big thanks to our fine friends at DST who send us cool stuff even though we foiled their evil code scheme. I got the same but with Zombie Captain America instead of Zombie Hulk
  10. Uhhh... I don't get these. Hal nearly looks cute... until you finish looking at him. These kind of remind me of a really bad experience in high school. Kids, do NOT "experiment" while watching the Super Friends. They may look harmless, but they're cannibals.
  11. There is: http://cornerstorecomics.com/index.cfm?pag...roduct_ID=2695# Both waves look good.
  12. They seem to me the same, but as these are just now shipping, it may be too soon to say for certain.
  13. Huh. I've only got the Wolverine mates shipping.
  14. I think it says HOPEFULLY we will hear something soon. Sadly, it sounds to me like even though they are still trying to get these out, vendor interest just isn't strong enough.
  15. This really isn't that bad. Of all the Spidey-variants that could be released, DST does one that makes sense. And unlike toybiz's hydro-armor radioactive Spiderman with inflatable mega-kite, this actually has a comic history... with Electro. It would have been lame if it had just been another standard blue/red or black Spiderman.
  16. Yeah, I have to admit I would not be army building. I like that now I will be getting two of each of the army builders, but I do not really need more than that unless there is some discernible difference. I also think that with the difficulty people have been having getting the TRU exclusives, an army builder set would be just cruel. I think army collectors would buy up all of the stock and keep after-market prices high. I think we could easily see a case of the few really dictating market terms. Or conversely, it could back fire and we could see pegwarmers. Either way, packing an army builder with a character changes that dynamic. I like the variant+army builder method myself. It keeps me interested. It also get me buying TWO packs instead of just one army builder pack. It's been a long day. I don't know if that made sense. Bullseye and Moonstone are going to be awesome.
  17. I would like to see Bradley Cooper as G'Nort and Barbara Streisand as Guy Gardner. That would be cool. As long as the special effects are good and Hal has the right cocky, over-confident thing going on, I think a GL movie could work.
  18. I saw an interesting quote from Ryan Reynolds about the character in Wolverine. He says he plays Wade early and then the creature that eventually becomes Deadpool later, or something to that effect. I think Wolverine really left a lot of room to start Deadpool anew, and thinking of it as Wade turning into Weapon XI turning into Deadpool means we really haven't seen the Deadpool that Ryan Reynolds thinks is the Deadpool that we will see when we see Deadpool. So it's like there are three characters: Wade, Weapon XI, and Deadpool even though they are all one character. And we've only really seen the first two, because movie Deadpool (hopefully) will be a kind of insane Wade with (hopefully just some of, ie healing and a slightly broken teleportation) Weapon XI powers. There was some mention that the power grafting was not a full success, so maybe he can "lose" the laser-eyes and the blade hands. I think a Deadpool movie could work with surprisingly little retconning.
  19. These look awesome. I really like the face on the X-Force Wolverine. I love the army builder/variant model. It is working out very nicely.
  20. Wolverine in the Avengers is definitely weird. The Avengers are Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and Wolverine just isn't a hero. Not in the traditional, Avengers kind of way. (What he does, what he's the best at, it's not being a nice, neat team player.) He makes perfect sense in the X-Men and its offshoots, like karamazov said, because it's the loner, outcast group. And he's a mutant. But I think he is even over exposed in those groups. He doesn't belong on EVERY X-team. And Spiderman also shouldn't be a regular member of a team. He is an everyman-type hero, not an Earth's Mightiest hero type of hero, even though he does have what it takes. Team ups are good. Avengers-membership is not.
  21. I for one love that Marvel's biggest loner is a member of every team ever. It just makes so much sense. And it certainly doesn't water down his cool factor. 'Cause he's the best there is at what he does, Bub. And what he does is be everywhere at once. Secondary mutation? It makes so much sense. This wave sounds pretty cool. The only one that sounds like overkill is Wolverine unless he is packed with (or his variant is) another modern X-Force character.
  22. Holy shit. It looks like I will own a few kubricks after all. These look sharp.
  23. Love the Marx Brothers. Surprised you didn't include Master of Disguise, though. A misunderstood masterpiece, if ever there was one. The Marx Brothers rule. I feel that Master of Disguise paints turtles in an unfair light. For years turtles have stuggled with that kind of prejudice. Sure, the Ninja Turtles did a lot to raise awareness, but now everyone thinks a turtle is either some loser or a ninja. There's not really a middle ground that fairly and accurately depicts turtles. And don't get me started on salmonella. My guilty pleasures consist largely of Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks movies. Seriously, I can't not watch those. So Lords of Dogtown just makes me feel guiltier about watching Joe Versus the Volcano.
  24. In groundhog's defense, the question was limited to top five. Those probably would have made it into top 8, although I think Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 was so good it could probably count twice, bumping Elektra out of the coveted 8 spot. My picks: Amelie Empire Strikes Back Lord of the Rings Duck Soup The English Patient ...right now anyway. My top five movies always change depending on mood, etc. They're always pulled from the top 30 or so, but narrowing it down to five is tough.
