  1. There are a few interesting choices out there. For me personally I don't like the way newer T-rex toys look with the hunched over design. I prefer the older stuff where the figure is standing straight up like Godzilla. The three I had narrowed my search down to were the Playmobil T-Rex, HG Toys Dinosaur Warriors T-Rex and a TRU Rex that I noticed recently. The TRU one is in the action figure aisle with the Army/Pirates/Fantasy stuff. It costs a bit ($50 i think) as it's part of a set but it is a nice looking huge beast of a toy. The Playmobil one looks nice too but I had never seen it in person so I wasn't 100% sure about scale. I went with the Dinosaur Warriors Rex and have no regrets. It's a perfect scale and has the Devil Dinosaur look, tiny mishapen arms and huge thick legs with clawed feet. I was lucky enough to run into one recently and snatched it up. Preliminary painting on Devil and Moonboy begins this weekend. By the way, the only reason I even knew this figure existed was from You Bastards custom thread (Pg 8). He used this figure to make his DD custom way back in 2010.
  2. I picked up my sets over the weekend and they are glorious! The Brotherhood (with Mystique) looks fantastic. Anyone have a problem with the tampo alignment on Avalanche's mask? I picked up two and both were out of whack with the helmet opening/nose point. One was just a bit off and was workable, the other stands out. On the workable one I used a dremel to eliminate the point on his mask which made it far less obvious. Bonus that I prefer Avalanche's mask that way. Every other aspect of that particular mate was fantastic, loved the chest harness and the hidden one underneath. Blob, Pyro and Destiny were all fine, all three turned out far better than I had expected based on previous photos. Blobs face, Destiny's and Pyro's helmets all looked very good in hand. A fine wave of four new villains to add to my collection, I'm very pleased.
  3. Here's my votes and I added a category for the overlooked 80's Avengers. Classic Avengers - FA Wonder Man 80's Avengers - Dr Druid 90s Avengers - Crystal Modern Avengers - Pass NOW Avengers - Pass Classic X-Men - Sunfire 90s X-Men - Pass Modern X-Men - Pass NOW X-Men - Pass Spider-Man - Molten Man (Yellow, not gold or translucent) Mystic Marvel - Brother Voodoo Cosmic Marvel - Adam Warlock (Starlin) Inhumans - Triton Marvel Knights - Prowler Miscellaneous - Jack of Hearts
  4. Why not limit it to three picks per category, wouldn't that satisfy both arguments? With three, people aren't going nuts listing their entire 459 character wishlist and you're getting a better representation of what people want. Just a thought.
  5. Well, crap. Hope everything goes well with you in whatever hobbies you move onto. I hope you're hanging onto the mates you have and still enjoying them even though you're no longer collecting. I didn't know you personally but recognize your name from when I was lurking in here. Good luck in the future!
  6. Hello and thank you! That wrapped up my opinion of Ultron perfectly. Too jokey and glib. I still enjoyed the movie but felt Ultron could have been more menacing.
  7. Saw the movie over the weekend and loved it. Ultron himself was kinda "meh" for me, he seemed too erratic in his decisions and rationale. Seeing him fight the Avengers was a visual treat for sure. I really enjoyed Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, much more than I thought I would. I'll say more once I master the spoiler tag...
  8. I agree, I think Hammer Drones don't stand a chance any longer. Of course applying the same logic I could probably knock Dire Wraith's and Warwolves off of my requests as they haven't appeared for a while to my knowledge. I'm not ready to give up on Mandroids or Mindless ones just yet though.
  9. I don't get to pick mine up until this weekend but I'm loving seeing pics of the bad guys and Banshee. I'm positively thrilled to have the Brotherhood finally released and look forward to setting them up! that Banshee accessory looks great, I'll definitely have to get a few extras.
  10. I really think Hulk turning grey for any reason would have confused the average movie-goer. As Rinku stated above the casual fan knows green.
  11. Since this thread was started by Steve from Walgreen's, the guy actually looking for this info, wouldn't this be the official thread? Until informed otherwise I'm going to treat it as such and cast my vote here. 1. Man-Thing 2. Zabu Thanks for asking for fan's input Steve and I hope this leads to many minimate opportunities at Walgreen's, both animated and classic.
  12. Based on how close that FF Sandman is to the classic comic design I assumed the rest of the show designs would follow suit. I just looked up a few images and yeah, that Batroc isn't exactly what I had in mind. Attuma either for that matter. So eh... if they're close enough to classic comic looks I'm in but not interested if it's a newer look or too far animated. Still buying the hell out of that Sandman!
  13. Nightcrawler's hair is tres lame. The MJ jacket made me giggle though. Also, god I miss mall arcades!!! Or arcades in general. The local amusement park still has one but last I checked, about five years ago, classic games were down to three and they were at the back of the arcade. Le sigh.
  14. I don't watch the show but that's great news that ze Leaper is getting exposure. Would love to see a classic Batroc minimate. I haven't collected Marvel Legends in years but still went out of my way to pick up a Batroc once I found out he was made. Any chance Attuma or Super-Adaptoid are making appearances on that show? Attuma is in a bunch of episodes as part of a league of villains Huh, I may need to start watching this show. Attuma and Batroc minimates would be outstanding! Here's hoping they're in future assortments.

  16. I think they made a bill/beak for the Nightmare before christmas line. I just assumed they were reusing that one. Regarding classic Dazzler, Polarboy nailed it, She appeared during a fantastic run which is arguably the best in X-Men history. Certainly the run that put them "on the map" so to speak. For me personally anything from X-men 1 to 143 is awesome. After that, not so much. Good stuff in and out but nothing that grabbed me like the first ten issues of Stan/Jack or the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne run. As for Dazzler's costume, dated as it may be I've never felt any of her other looks were as nice as the original.
  17. Thanks for the info Hellpop, I did not know that! I'm still glad to be getting Howard but definitely prefer the older look.
  18. I'll take an Arno IM 2020, Howard the Duck and Disco Dazzler for the win! Glad to see Dazzlers classic costume finally get the minimate treatment. Howard is an amazing left field choice and I'm curious what his look is based on? I'm used to the old blue suit jacket with the blue hat from his 70's series. I don't recall this look. Can't wait for Arno, an evil Iron Man should look great on the villains shelf. Overall there's not a ton of stuff for this classic lover but I am happy with the stuff I'm getting!
  19. These animated mates don't seem to be too far off from what we're already getting for my taste. That's only going by some slideshow pics but still, they look pretty nice. I'm hoping I can cherry pick a few here and there from the ones that look classicy enough. Speaking of classic... That FF Sandman will definitely go into my collection, I absolutely love the costume that's based off of. I've wanted that look for ages and can't wait to add that one to the shelf. Any chance it comes with alternate green legs? That would make it perfect and like the Ronan mate, I would consider it close enough and done. Short jacket Starlord is a great idea but I already made one with a WD Zombie red jacket so not sure I need to purchase that one "again". Still, I'll take a look and I'm a sucker for the impulse in hand purchase.
  20. Love your pairing ideas but totally disagree with the next part. I'd prefer the costumes they wore during that storyline if they would ever make a wave like this. In general I dig the old costumes and don't have much interest in newer/now designs. Also, I'm right there with Mystery Man, I still want Black Knight (I or II), classic Banshee and Falcon and Mindless Ones. Give me some Dire Wraiths, Warwolves and Mandroids while you're at it please! How about Lava Men? I'd love some Lava Men.
  21. I hadn't realized how many cancelled lines I actually collected... It's... double what I'm currently into collecting. Thank goodness Marvel (comic line) keeps on rolling.
  22. Ha! It's my nature! You know whats really sad, Zach already responded and made it good. So I'll apologize to Zach as I missed that. Sigh, that's why I normally stay out of that stuff. Crawling under a rock now.
  23. The Predator blind bag news has me nervous, please let it be Predator variants and not the cast of the first movie! I don't buy many lines outside of mainstream superhero stuff, so movie and tv lines are a hard sell for me. I jumped fully into Kill Bill because I knew I was going to be able to get all of the main characters without jumping through hoops via comic shop assortments. If I can do the same with Predator, I'd jump in. A neat cast of characters that would make a nice little set on the shelf. I have no interest in searching through blind bags to complete a movie set and would just drop it instead. Already chuffed that a villain (Strucker) is part of an upcoming blind bag set, f that. The only reason I have Avengers movie figs is because I ran into a set of Chitauri for cheap. Thought they were cool and decided to pick up the Avengers team to have a neat little battle dio. Will add SW and Quicksilver to it, along with A Ultron, as in one. Apparently I'll be skipping Strucker and the pessimist in me is already going "See... why did you even bother? Stick to the comic stuff." The Ant-Man box set sounds interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing pics of that at a later date. No interest in Gotham, I've never seen an episode of it or Arrow or Flash. Just not my cup of tea but cool for those that are into it. I usually don't comment on such stuff, but regarding the ratings discussion that was going on above, if DST can't make their point/argument without stooping to personal insults, then perhaps they shouldn't comment at all. If a poster fires first, game on, but a company rep taking the first shot always reflects poorly on the company. My two cents.
  24. Ooh, that's a nice idea! Gonna have to look through the parts bin, thanks Turtle!
