  1. Ok - So I jut did a bit of googling and it turns out that anko is K Mart's in house brand. I also found out that it does not exist in America because K Mart Australia and K Mart Us are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COMAPNIES ? Apparently Australian parent company Westfarmers had a license agreement with the parent company of the US's K Mart to use the name until 2017, at which point they bought the name outright for use within Australia. The two K Marts have completely different parent companies and so despite the name, there is no link between them. TL:DR - this product doesn't look like its available in K Mart US. So my previous post appears to just be for my Australian plastic crack addicts. Sorry folks
  2. Apologies if this is not the best place for it, but happy for a mod to move it as needed.I found these display stands that I thought might work well for minimates. Anko seems to be the in house discount brand in KMart here, so not sure if it'll exist in the US or UK. They're designed for lego-style mini figures. Each display has three shelves with a sliding clear plastic window on the front. The shelves each have 4 little 'lego' plates in them to peg peg mini figures on to, but they're removable if you wanna put minimates in there instead. The case retails for $20.00 here, so I imagine it'd be about $10 if available in the US.
  3. Just realised that I can take Strong Guy, Lilandra and Mockingbird of my Top 10 Marvel Most Wanted list. It's a nice feeling to be able to do that! Can't wait for the pre-orders of the Phoenix wave to go live. I suspect Corsair might have been one of the characters to go onto my list next, but since he's in the already in the Phoenix wave, I'm going to go with: Locus; Capullo Sunspot; Stryfe; Sebastian Shaw; Random; Vertigo; Wasp; Penance; Exodus & Deathbird. I feel like my list is getting more and more obscure as time goes on. Which is a good sign for the line.
  4. Wooooooooooh! That is a CRAZY looking creature. Can't wait to see how you're going to customise a minimate to fit this! Will you be using a more animalistic base like Big Chap or something from the Godzilla line?
  5. Ah - this hits me right in the nostalgia. Will be chasing a set, for sure! I'm wondering if this might mean that all those folks who wanted a Morph figure will finally get one!
  6. They have indeed... but Hasbro is doing a damn fine job of catching up with it's ML line right now. I'm low-key hoping we might end up with a Hep in both versions.
  7. Ooooh - I haven't been raiding lately, but I'll have to try a couple of Rayquazza's this week! I'll send you an invite if we do any.
  8. Many happy returns, mate. Hope iso-life is being kind to you and that there's still access to cake!
  9. IMPERIAL GUARD! Super Exciting. I have bought some figures to help me kitbash members of the IG, but would very much welcome a real custom of any/all members. I would LOVE to see Oracle, but if the hints are 'he' and 'green', I'll have to go with Mentor. Hobgoblins antennae seem like they'd present a bit of a challenge.
  10. Yeah - I put in money for two sets of rewards to ensure I got all the minimates. I ended up with a digital download of the movie, and a hardback book 'The Art of 88'. I never saw the movie, and the book looked like a collection of fan-art for something that. no-one was a fan of. Despite the sh*tty experience with Kickstarter in this instance, I'd be willing to roll the dice on exclusive Marvel Minimates if DST wanted to try crowdfunding. I wouldn't expect DST to act the way D****r did. Neither of the peeps I've dealt with at DST (Chuck & Zach) ever seem interested in promoting themselves. They're promoting the products. They're out to run a company that makes cool toys that people like. D****r always seemed more interested in being a rock star than in letting his work speak for itself. Also - D****r was trying to make a film. He made a film. He got what he wanted. He didn't *really* care about the toys. DST would be making toys and making money *from* the toys. The toys wouldn't be an incentive to support some other product. Similarly, DST wouldn't be luring in connoisseurs of amateur, low budget, Tarantino knock off, handy cam films with the promise of a bonus DVD with every Minimate sold. If it meant getting a chance at characters like the Mutant Liberation Front or the Imperial Guard, and it was handled by DST, I'd give it a go.
  11. I never thought I cared much about giant man, until now. Amazing work, friend!
  12. Guh! This shot is making me want Thunderbolts minimates so bad.... and I didn't even read the original run! Source: Marvelous News
  13. I'd be down for some characters we haven't seen yet that complete other line-ups sprinkled in. While I haven't read X books for a while, there seems to be some roster shake-ups on the new covers. Hellions is giving us Wild-child, Scalphunter & Nanny. I'm not sure how they'd ever do her, but Armor has some currency again. I've always wanted a minimate of her. I also wouldn't mind a Captain Britain-looking Psylocke that seems to be floating around the books at the moment.
  14. You are correct... but I was also pointing out how silly it was to end such a bad film with a fight scene that occurs on, and literally wrecks, a train
  15. The film ending was an absolute train wreck ?
  16. YAASSSS! Love the totem/shrine accessory! Beautiful work Luke. Aaaand... ordered! Can't wait to get my little stash of customs from you at the end of the year!
  17. Given how the film was received, I suspect DST re probably glad they didn't produce merch for it, even though the costumes would allow for almost the whole team to be made pretty easily.
  18. This is a really cool looking wave. I think Spider-Woman's modern design translates surprisingly well to Minimates. Looking forward to some Deathlock/Cyber-Spidey team up pics!
  19. X-Men First Class Emma Frost? Hail Ivan!
  20. The packaging looks a bit like it's walking the line between film likeness and comic book adaptation - kind of a bid to appeal to both markets. I'm not mad about it - I think it looks pretty cool.
  21. No apology needed man. I was just scoping out possible new innovations. Still stoked to get the blaster piece.
  22. I would be exceptionally happy with either of those options.
  23. Like - It's crazy... I've seen a few people comment on this wave potentially hitting Wave 100, but when you think about the TRU & Wallgreens waves (even if you discount the duplicate figures), they've got to be up over 100 waves by now. When they do "officially" get there, I hope the marketing machine goes into overdrive to celebrate.
  24. Oooh - can you share pics & recipe when this comes together?
