Oooh. More comic-style Avengers and Foes? Can you give us any hints yet? Will these be updates on previously released characters, or brand new Avenger folk? For the record, my money's still on the Cap's Kooky Quartet San Diego Exclusive. Not that I wouldn't want an Avengers Forever set, an Avengers West Coast set, or an Young Avengers set more, but I think the odds are that we'll get a silver age pack. Just saying. It will be a "DST Loves You" Wave: Kang (Immortus Variant) with Army-Builder Falcon & Winter Soldier Tigra & Mockingbird Enchantress & Odin (Comic version) I can dream, right?

Because TRU doesn't WANT the same stuff hanging on their pegs at all times! They need to create that sense of "new" and "hot", which is why companies will refresh their packaging yearly. They want to create that impression in shopper's minds that they NEED to buy it NOW, not that it'll be there any time they want to come back. Also, as far as we're concerned, having the same rotating stock would be bad. What happens when there are only a few new packs per case? What happens if the straight rereleases pegwarm? That would affect TRU ordering new waves and would make newer waves even harder to find! Plus, by having different variations of the same characters *does* help sales: Parents (and collectors) are generally more willing to buy a 2-pack with one new character if the 2nd figure is "different enough" from something they already own. If it was exactly the same, sales would very likely drop. Finally, as for a 5-pack, that sounds good BUT it would defeat the "price-point" model of sales. It's easier to spend $8 than $20 or more for most kids. How many kids are allowed a limit ($10 or less, little Timmy) when buying their toys? The Disney Store exclusive set did really well for itself as a 4-pack, but it didn't have 2-packs in the same store to compete with. You really some good ideas, but sadly I think they would make things worse for us instead of better. Just look at what the Star Wars line has done: newer figures limited in stock AND shelf-space compared to their "Legends" line which is all repacks. Frankly, DST NEEDS to keep the heavy-hitters in near-constant rotation to keep the line going. Sure, I'd like to see less of the same characters over and over, but we are still getting the TRU wave 13 series which includes Moonstar & Magma and Boom-Boom & Rictor - characters I never thought would get done! I myself have a very long wishlist of characters I want, and I'm sure DST will get to 99% of them given enough time. For the 10th anniversary of minimates, I would suffer an ENTIRE year of remakes & rereleases if it guaranteed me ANOTHER 10 years of minimates with the same amount of wide character selection we've gotten these past 10 years! Seriously, look at all the characters just on the pack-in poster alone! 2012 is going to be the year of The Avengers. I think DST's doing the right thing in capitalizing on this, because a *lot* of new blood is going to be buying their first minimates in 2012!

1. Didn't say that. Perhaps they are the 9th and 10th most winners. 2. Didn't say that either, just that boyd has no reason to attempt to overturn a retail outlet. SO, didn't say NO Kang, but DID say Kang's not a TRU exclusive! KANG's COMING!!!!! Or, at least, that's how I'm interpreting it!

Personally, I'll buy everything they put out if they restarted the DC minimate line! I also have a full run of the originals, but I really like them so much I wouldn't mind extras, especially if packed with new figures! I would rather have an army of Batmen than the Spider-Men I already own! Besides, have you seen the prices on the originals on Ebay? It's insane! I know there's still a great market for these, at least as far as Batman & Superman goes. Sure wave 5 and up are generally cheap, but they don't need to rerelease Ma Hunkel or Shazam. Gotta have Batman & Superman to get into TRU though, and I support that wholeheartedly

I can take Aunt May off the list thanks to 43. I will replace with Tigra. Good choice! Hopefully with all the attention the Avengers is getting next year, we'll see her get made! Makes a good chant, don'tcha think? "Tigra in Twenty-Twelve!" I'd almost suggest that Kang would make a good pack-in with Tigra, but he won't!! - Kang should come with an army builder so the variant would be Immortus! :biggrin:

I really don't know why it takes them so damn long to get them in stock! If anyone out there knows why, I'd love to hear it!

Hey McFly! Anybody home? Think, McFly! We already have a George McFly in his Prom outfit. The pic you posted is just a different costume. Clara and Einstein have never been made. For Einstein, I'd prefer a solid sculpted figure over a minimated one due to the scale.

So, did the 2nd 4-pack come out this week?

I don't know if everyone else is having the same issue as me, but BBTS still has it listed as "preorder", even though it's been out at LCS's a few weeks now! Does anyone else have issues with long delays for BBTS items going in stock vs preorder after release? I love the "pile of loot" feature otherwise I'd be taking my business elsewhere!

This, coupled with the fact that Zach stated JJJ comes with the SHIELD Agent, will have me buying MANY of this pack! I hope my LCS orders heavy on this wave! I did notice where the control art calls JJJ's overcoat "The Godfather's Michael Corleone's", as if it were actually made, whereas Jean's badge-hand states all new when it was from Beverly Hills Cop.

What's a LCS? Just Kidding! I rarely step inside one anymore, I prefer to order online. Most of the LCS's in SoCal don't carry minimates except one, which I use to buy extras for customs. I prefer to preorder so I don't miss out, and refuse to pay jacked up prices for variants. I really hope Wave 43 improves things for LCS's since it's different from TRU's wave. Let's hope DST makes enough changes to keep LCS's buying them! I'm not sure if just TRU & etailers are enough to keep MM's going forever!

I never heard back AT ALL from customer service after multiple emails regarding my SDCC Red Hulk with 2 left feet. Anyone get one with 2 Right feet and need to swap? Mine just won't stand right. But yeah, I wish customer service actually existed / answered emails!

I'm looking forward to set #2 more because at least 2 of them will fit in with the Pirate Raiders MM's really well! My set's not yet in at BBTS for series 1 or the vehicles yet. They sure do take awhile for anything to come in!

To be fair, last night's premiere episode was really, really good! My wife laughed harder than I did! It feels like the storytelling & jokes are more polished and grounded, rather than just throwing random ideas against the wall. That said, as one who does his duty to prevent pegwarmers, I would definitely buy them. To prevent pegwarming. Yup.

At least they acknowledged the Rhino request. Sadly, while Alpha Flight has a 50/50 shot of being made next year, aren't they dead? I'll buy them when they come out, but I'd prefer Kang, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Masters of Evil, Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Wrecking Crew, etc. first!

I'm not quite sure I follow you. If by recreating scenes from the movies, you mean by including the human characters, then no I don't care. But if you mean by including accessories like gravestones, lab tables & equipment, etc, then YES I want those! I may not be a fan of the movies, but I am of the characters, and those things are iconic enough to want! Yes, it's a big letdown that the TRU Bride wasn't B&W, but I guess that would have been confusing to Joe Q. Public why the villager was not - I would want to keep him as he is! Accessories would have greatly improved sales I'm sure, especially with the customizers!

I see far more X-Men First Class warming pegs than I do Universal Monsters at TRU. To be fair, I've seen many lines clearanced. IIRC, the BTTF 3 set was clearanced out, yet we still got the 25th ann. set. TRU has clearanced GB several times, yet they kept ordering further waves! My hope is that TRU at least made enough profit off the UM waves that even after clearancing out the remaining packs, they still made enough profit to be willing to continue. As I mentioned above, the best bet is to mix movies in the boxsets. Although I really want that Mummy sarcophagus they've shown off already, and I'd love a Mummy boxset as I mentioned above. But yeah, lack of accessories also hurt this line. Same with too many civilians.

I want a couple of extra Fez hats to customize Sallah from Raiders of the Lost Ark and for Matt Smith from Doctor Who. Of course, I promise not to get upset if I go through the time and expense to make those 2 customs, and then DST chooses to do official releases with full lines for those properties! :biggrin:

So, DST has stated they don't feel like there's much left that's "marketable" for the Universal Monsters. I beg to differ, especially if you look at the old Sideshow Collectibles figure line. I feel like more is possible IF DST were to change their release strategy and do one final wave. Of course, the first wave especially would have done better with more monsters and fewer humans. That said, it would be a shame if we didn't get: The Mummy The Invisible Man Phantom of the Opera also, the Metaluna Mutant would be cool but I won't be upset if we never get him. I think for boxsets, we should get The Mummy with that awesome sarcophagus they've already shown and Phantom of the Opera including Phantom in his tux and Phantom in his red outfit with Skull mask, both with removable masks. Then the TRU wave can be: Mummy & Sarcophagus Ardeth Bey & Pharaoh (Imagine the new tooling! A Fez hat and Pharaoh hat!) Invisible Man Trenchcoat & Bathrobe Phanton of the Opera Skull mask/red outfit & Black suit/half face mask *OR* DST can abandon the one movie per pack and actually MIX movies in the same pack! Then they can put characters like the Metaluna Mutant in with Son of Frankenstein, Igor, Mole People, etc for the "one and done" types that won't make up a 4-pack. Similar to the BTTF line, where they kept releasing variants of the same characters, I'd be wiling to buy another Dracula, etc if they needed him to anchor a mixed movie 4-pack.

Sadly, that seems to be a bit of a problem! See, we keep letting DSTChuck know what we want, but it feels sometimes like our requests are blatantly ignored. I'm specifically talking about characters like Kang and Winter Soldier, who have been frequently requested and *specifically* shot down by DSTChuck. I understand if we were petitioning for z-list characters, I would expect to be ignored, but these two specifically have been made multiple times by multiple lines (Marvel Universe, Marvel Legends scale, etc). My only hope is that we are being intentionally strung along to not spoil our surprise! I truly hope DST is telling us we'll shoot our eyes out, but we'll still get that Red Rider BB gun after all! Sorry if I'm being too negative. I don't want this to turn into an anti-DSTChuck thread. But it's no longer a "wait and see" response, it sounds more from him like "I don't like them so I won't make them". I do appreciate you posting here, Zach!

I'm curious, could you feel the air around you grow colder as I added you to my sworn enemy list? You know, I did sense something....as if millions of voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I thought it was just something I ate.

So, the TRU exclusive logo is now on the top left corner now? I guess that'll save the scalpers some time and keep them from knocking them off the shelves

I'm pretty sure it'll be a movie-mate wave, but I hope I'm wrong. As for who it is, I just hope it's comic-styled mates that aren't SpiderMan-centric. While everyone's wishlists here are good, I'm just hoping for any unmade comic characters. But I'd definitely prefer Inhumans over X-Factor. Actually, I'd prefer X-Statix over X-Factor! Enchantress/Kang Songbird/Ghost Falcon/Winter Soldier Medusa/Triton I would also love to see a "Best Of" wave of rereleased Army Builders! Aim, Hydra, maybe packed with a new character? Or preferably just 2-packs of each soldier, or mixed (AIM & Hydra pack, etc)
