  1. I still continue to think this is best live action superhero show ever produced *spoiler alert for people who have not watched up to episode 9* who else is FREAKING EXCITED for the return tonight?? EDIT: also Robbie Amell in a recent interview confirmed the clothes hes wearing in the Firestorm pic are just civies he happens to be wearing in the scene that they give him the harness. His costume will continue to evolve to something more comic-book based
  2. My first set was unforgettable, i was around 10 years old and at a target when I saw this set on a clearance aisle for less than 5 dollars I pleaded with my mom to get me this set and another set that had The Thing and Gajin Wolverine but she said I had to choose. As a kid who wasnt allowed any GIJoes I chose the toy that would get me the most weapons. I was instantly amazed and excited by all the accessories and maneuverability of the figures. Over the course of the next year id go to every toy store and comic shop I could find to see what other minimates I could add to my collection some 9 years later and im still here and have almost every marvel minimate ever produced, my collection is well over 1000 figures and still growing thank you DST for producing some of the highest quality, diversified and all around best toys that will continue to entertain me for years to come!
  3. so are these out in the wild or no?
  4. okay time for some thoughts and questions: Captain America: Probably my favorite new costume in the MCU, I dont know if the colors on the prototype do the movie look justice, i feel the blue should be darker. Having said that, the details are spot on and im very excited to own that mate. Ironman: Not too much to say. Its a recolor of the Mk 42 which is accurate to the film, he looks good Thor: Okay im a little disappointed in him, i think hes a bit too bulky (which was my issue with the Dark World Thor), Im not too sold on the hemsworth likeness and again the colors dont reign true with the film, the metal elements of his costume in the film look to be rusted to a copper/gold state, I also wish his hair looked more braided Black Widow: she is near perfect, truly a great looking minimate, I hope she comes with her new shock batons and those SMG looking handguns Hawkeye: very happy with both figures, i think some stubble would help sell the Renner likeness and the red could be darker but all in all he looks fantastic Scarlet Witch: while Im not too happy with her movie look (well this one, im hoping she will get an actual costume eventually) the mate looks spot on Quicksilver; I actually do love this look for him and you guys have nailed it Sub Ultron: Looks like a good army builder, very well detailed, the head spikes work really well on a minimate head Ultron: Okay so Im torn on Ultron. on one hand the detailing is superb and the mandibles look great, on the other hand, i think the silver is far too light, a darker tone like the comic AOU Ultron would suit him better, and secondly, Ultron in the movie is 8 ft tall, he should tower over the avengers. I understand not wanting him to look bulky, but I think DST has found ways in the past to make tall and menacing characters while still keeping them slim. all in all I am very excited for these and will probably buy a hefty amount of anything for this movie. Cant wait to see the army building dump and the second LCS assortment!
  5. This is just the first lcs wave and the tru wave, Zach said we are also getting an army builder dump and possibly a second comic wave which seems very likely with the lack of hulk in these sets
  6. Bendis is an interesting case to me. Hes a prolific writer and his content does resonate with a lot of people for sure. Hes not my favorite but he has done work that show me his merit. Anyway i really only read Guardians for Valero Schiti's art and Uncanny right now for Kris Anka (who is probably the best artist marvel currently has and they have a lot of great names so thats saying something) While I do tend to pick up a lot of books weekly, Hickmans New Avengers and Avengers are still my current favorites. I honestly think its the strongest Avengers arc ive ever read
  7. pretty sure the Sub-Ultrons in the toy line are just for the Toyline...though I could be wrong also Hulk now has new stretchy pants designed by Stark so I definitely want a mate of him and Im till not content with any of the current movie Thor's so im fine with them taking another shot
  8. right because we all know Marvel movies only ever feature one version of the main heroes costume and usually dont have large cast of interesting characters.... my antman wave suggestion would be: Retired Hank Pym/ Antman II Hope Van Dyne/ YellowJacket Scott Lang/ Flashback Antman I Scott Lang/ Flashback Wasp (Variant) please give us mates for this film, DST hasnt missed a marvel studios film yet! dont let this be the first!
  9. I am actually surprised by the lack of interest im hearing on here, everywhere else seems to be the exact opposite, the trailer to me was very on par with when the first Ironman was announced, the film seems to be in a very similar vein, visually and tone wise. I hope we get a full wave but not getting that suit and the Yellowjacket armor at least would be a travesty
  10. ALSO THE TRAILER IS AWESOME http://youtu.be/xInh3VhAWs8
  11. Hey man thanks! I actually think this is a great idea for a thread, maybe im alone in that but it'd be pretty cool to see what people consider their first comic book and the story surrounding reading it ill start with mine and pose a few questions to all of you the first comic I read cover to cover, was in 2007, im sure im one of the newer comic readers on the board (as im part of the demographic of members under 20), I was in 6th grade at a K-8 charter school and the 4th grade teacher was this awesome dude named Patrick who would always bring in his comics (current stuff at the time mainly) for the middle schoolers to read. My first week at the school Patrick came up to me (after overhearing a game I was playing with some friends) and handed me seven issues in a nice little stack that according to him "I had to read". Those seven issues were a miniseries of a small but popular event in Marvel comics, some of you may have heard of it after that I was sold on comics forever, Ive been avidly reading them for the last 8 years now and plan to continue to read them for many years to come my questions to you guys are: 1. What was the first comic book you ever read? (any comic any company, you just have to have read it cover to cover) 2. What was the first comic series you ever followed (more than 3 issues) if you guys have any more ideas for the thread, chime in!
  12. okay but we should totally start a thread about all our first comic books
  13. thanks for the pic! they look great, Ronan and Quicksilver are definitely the standouts for me, cant wait to get my hands on these
  14. I was there at the playstation experience when they showed the footage, it was incredible....and then I got to meet Neil Druckmann and Troy Baker...probably the best weekend of my life
  15. Some guys here might not want Quentin, but when it comes to me? You're preaching to the Quire Preach brothers....preach
  16. we've seen "A" Valiant two-pack, doesnt mean its the same one, Valiant has a lot of properties...Quantum and Woody with a goat accessory would probably be a good idea... I want more Image comics mates...
  17. just saying....we better be getting a Vision mate....
  18. how cool would it be to get a bulked up Apocalypse with Evan (Genesis) underneath?! other characters that had alternate looks in the story were: Steve Rogers, both as director and he wore his cap armor during the last act could also be Loki as his costume changed for two issues when he lifted Mjolnir and as I said above, Redskull has his tentacled Onslaught look and his trenchcoat Greyskull look
  19. personally I thought Axis was very weakly planned and executed and I am simply grateful for two things 1. Remender is a better writer in his indie books 2. Marvel has Hickman to pick up the slack, his Avengers books are what should be in the spotlight right now having said that, id love a wave that could get us a bunch of the modern looks! my guess for an Axis wave would be: All-New Captain America/ Red Onslaught (with alternate Greyskull head) Superior Ironman/ bulked-up Apocalypse Uncanny Cyclops/ Uncanny Magneto Kluh (Inverted Hulk)/ Inverted Sabretooth Nessex's suggestions also all make sense
  20. I guess Venture Bros would be considered too close to Archer to be thought of as a "180" but i still really want Venture Bros
  21. that Morbius just made this set a must buy for me
  22. I honestly believe the Marvel Universe hasbro Galactus is the best option both in availability and scale. He may not match the minimate style at first glance but when you display him with the surfer in his hand it really works
  23. okay Im just gonna say that while I do think a lot of the current conjecture points to the scepter being a stone, my issue is mainly with the logic behind it, though i respect Marvel enough to give them a chance to explain themselves, and I wont agree that its a stone for sure until they say the words "its a stone" I will however say that I was pointing out from the day Avengers 1 released that when Loki says "there is only the war" I was front lining the bandwagon that said "ITS THE INFINITY WAR, HE KNOWS HE KNOWSSSS"
  24. those fantastic four custom legos are...FANTASTIC! any chance you could post pics of the flame on torch and surfer?
