  1. I agree on the no more 1 per case issue. First I was a bit disappointed that the wave had only 4 2 packs vs. the usual 5, but as the MMHQ article mentions that should mean there are 3 sets per case. That would be great if it turns out to be the case!
  2. I think the cool thing about doing Meggan is that DST could do a werewolf headpiece for her as a possible variant. I think that would bump up the interest for this pseudo-B/C-list character. Plus, if you put her with Nightcrawler it really wouldn't matter as everyone would love a new Nightcrawler!
  3. Just chiming in that the Silver Age Angel was packed one per case, even though the other Angel is labeled the variant on the packaging. As others have said, it must have been a factory error...
  4. Are you talking one braid, two braids, or lots of little ones? One braid - TRU Spider-Woman and Kat Katraine are the closest Two braids - Valkyrie is the closest Lots of braids - DC Direct wave 7 Lobo's dreadlocks are the closest Yep, the lots of braids look. Lobo might work. I'll have to try it out. Much thanks!
  5. Does anyone know of a hair piece with braids for Photon? I like the fro, but I'd like to see if there is a braided hairpiece to make a more modern version.
  6. My LCS usually gets them the first week of release, but they aren't on their New Books List for this week either. I e-mailed them, but I guess these are running late.
  7. I'm all for the X-Men love now! I feel like the Avengers have gotten the spotlight for a while, so I'm so glad to see the X-Men getting some MiniMates love. My favorite period of the X-Men is late 80's and early 90's, so these last few and upcoming waves have made me very happy. I do hope that Professor X in hoverchair and Jubile make the list. With Surfer's deluxe surfboard and Phoenix's phoenix force stand, it seems like DST can do the deluxe accessory required to get a 90's Professor X. I'd also like to see Longshot and Dazzler. I wouldn't mind some more X-Villains, like the Brotherhood or Marauders, but mostly, I just want to see more X-Men and different versions of the X-Men. Oh and for those looking for a break from the X-Men, that's how some of us have felt about the Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Avengers love the past few years. I think sales on the recent X-Men waves are proving DST is heading in the right direction.
  8. I ordered my sets on the 9th and haven't gotten a shipping notice either. Hopefully, they have already been shipped and I just didn't get a shipping notice. It usually takes a full week or more to get orders from AFX, so I was hoping by ordering when they came in stock they would arrive pretty quickly. Just in case something was wrong with my order, I sent them a follow up e-mail to see. I am disappointed to see they didn't paint the tops of the torso pieces to match the tampo/paint on the front. Hopefully they will look OK in person. I also don't quite like the power fists with Beast or the duck feet. Hopefully, the BSG MM Wave 2 barefoot ladies skin tone will match so I can have a somewhat normal looking Beast. UPDATE: Already got a response from AFX and sure enough, they had already shipped out on the 10th and are due on the 16th! Whoo-hoo!
  9. Given he was able to do a "Training Room" Diarama that is similar to a Danger Room setup, he probably could make a generic glider that would work with MiniMates. He just couldn't call it a Goblin Glider... But back to the topic...I'm sure they could do a hover chair with Professor X. The new Previews Exclusive Ghostbusters Glow in the Dark Slimer has a larger than normal 2 pack box with a explosion style base. The pics show the simplified stand that previous Slimers came with, but this release has a Ghost Trap base. It's oversized and uses extra plastic, so I'm sure it could be done. Maybe when TRU does an exclusive wave that includes some of the 90's era/cartoon X-Men, it will have a TRU exclusive set that includes Professor X with his chair and Jubilee. That would finish up the cartoon lineup!
  10. Thanks for posting, Turtle. That let me know to check the Memphis TRU to see if I could get a set. They still had 4 or 5 after I picked up two sets. Boy, TRU is a mad house this time of year, so I'm glad I was able to get them so I don't have to worry about going back anytime soon (unless of course Wave 5 hits before Christmas).
  11. I didn't get an e-mail, so I checked my SPAM folder and sure enough, I got an e-mail yesterday too! Whoo-hoo! Of course, I didn't get one because I got my question chosen. I actually bought the book and sent in my Amazon confirmation.
  12. I agree with you that Wolfchase is maddening! I work at Walnut Grove and I-240, so it doesn't take long to get to TRU. Yep, I live in Memphis. Sorry for confusing you. I remember seeing someone from Jonesboro, and for some reason got confused. I will post here or PM you tomorrow night if I luck out with finding a set. By the way, are you interested in any of the others in this wave or just the 2 TRU exclusives?
  13. Hey Turtle I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I went to TRU today (in Memphis) and they had this wave. I did pick up the only Molecule Man/Spider Woman and Angel/Warpath set they had. Hope it saves you a trip, but I guess they just put them out today. That is quite a drive from Jonesboro to Memphis (and Jackson even)! Do you travel for work? By the way, I am planning on going to Jackson late tomorrow as I have family up there. Do you want me to stop by the TRU and see if they have them now?
  14. For me the Gambit and WW2 Wolvie are the stand outs. I have yet to see the movie (will see it next week when it comes out on Bluray), but the Final Battle Deadpool looks crazy. Still a cool looking MiniMate, but I have no idea what the deal is with him. Battle Damaged Wolverine is the yawn one of these two sets. Enough with Battle Damage already! Unless of course you want to do some bloody versions, but I don't think that would go over as well at TRU.
  15. Wouldn't it have been cool if they glowed in the dark too? No such luck I guess, but at least we have the Marshmallow Man and Slimer that do...
  16. I don't see that anyone has posted the ratios for this wave. It appears the two packs with Cylons are each 3 per case and the rest are two per case. Just got back from TRU and they appeared to have a complete case. Athena and Cylon Centurion (3) Tyrol and Mortar Pack Cylon (3) Sam and Tory (2) Tigh and Six (2) Ellen and Simon (2)
  17. Glad to see DST is making First Appearance Angel the standard release and the more modern Angel the variant! I know they were already considering it before our threads on this, but it's great to know they reconsidered. Does kind of make the promo pic a bit of a cheat with the variant Angel front and center!
  18. Very Funny Stuff! Those are some crazy photo shoot pics, which match up with the crazy stuff on ANTM. I love Tyra Banks and her "off the hizzook" shows! She does love her some Tyra though...
  19. I'm curious what the case pack ratio with be. Hopefully more of the new sets than the repacks. Any ideas on when these should hit stores? I'm guessing if history repeats itself it will be in just a few weeks. Also, it's interesting that they repack the TRU Agent Zero set, but not Silver Fox. From what I've seen the Silver Fox set has sold better than Agent Zero. Still Silver Fox probably was produced in pretty high numbers.
  20. I'm sure you weren't the only one. I almost did and caught myself right before clicking the "Vote" button. Hopefully, DST will make this change and from what storm 1:08 said they were already considering it anyway.
  21. Just wanted to follow up that this thread is in response to storm 1:08's post in the SDCC news thread in the Crisis of Infinite MiniMates section: Since it wasn't its own thread here in the Marvel MiniMates section or mentioned in the wave 31 and 32 thread, I thought I'd start a new one to see if others agree/disagree.
  22. I don't see a thread for this or that it's been discussed in the Series 31 and 32 thread, but if I missed it, please feel free to close this thread or redirect to the proper thread. Since AFX is giving us a First Appearance X-Men set, please reconsider making FA Angel the standard and the more recent costume the variant. The Archangel and Archangel variant from the previous wave and the SDCC set work fine for AFX's X-Factor boxed set, so please consider swapping the variant for the standard issue Angel. Thanks in advance...
  23. I should be surprised that there has been little comment here about this re-issue of a 'so-called exclusive' but there is very little left to surprise me lately. I reckon a DST 'Puppet Master' is long overdue I would think AFX if anyone should be irked by it. Both the Web Armor Spider-Man and Venom were their exclusives, that turned out not to be.
  24. With all this TRU MiniMates news, it sure would be nice to see DC Direct working with TRU to offer DC MiniMates! I, too, would need a jolt to wake up from the shock of it! But it actually seems possible, DC Direct products are available to TRU (Watchmen and some older DC Direct closeout items - Crisis and Long Halloween). MiniMates are close to having their own space in TRU. At my TRU, the MiniMates are on different aisles. Marvel MiniMates with the Hasbro product and T2 MiniMates with the Playmates product. I'm guessing BSG will be with the DST 7" figure product, and Ghostbusters will probably be close by as well. I can't wait to see TRU late in the summer with all the different MiniMates products planned! If only, DC MiniMates could resurface in some way...
  25. I just wanted to chime in on my excitement of the BSG MiniMates returning bigger and better than I could have hoped. I never thought TRU would make this potentially risky gamble, but I'm glad they are doing it with BSG.
